      Sameeee. That made me very nervous. To each their own. It ain't my motor. But personally. I'd shove something in the to catch the lifters if it were to fall. That's a 2$ dowel for the time and money to pull the heads. 😂

      If the trays can't hold the lifters they are worn to the point of needing replaced anyway.

  • @matt81z28
    @matt81z28 Před 4 lety +2

    Faster way to do springs is using air. One thing to warn ppl is to not have to much hope in the lifters staying up in the trays with the cam out so make sure they have it prepped because then what happens if a lifter drops.. Well yeah not fun afterwards. But best to take precautions.

    I’ve had my Camaro for about 2 years now. 2010 SS auto. I’ve been eyeing that TSP CAM kit with DOD and VVT delete. I’ve been scared to pull the trigger mainly bc I felt like I would need someone else to install it and it would run me about another 2500 dollars on top of the 1300 dollars for the cam kit. But now I’ve decided I’m going to do it myself. Definitely a project for either summer 2022 or 2023. In no rush but I want to address that problematic lifter issue with the automatic SS Camaros as soon as possible. Loved the video hopefully you still have the Camaro.

      @@nalley6815hell no 😭life keeps getting in the way, but I did buy the cam kit. Just needing a bigger stall which I’ll be ordering soon but I decided not to do it myself bc there’s no step by step guide I’ve been able to find. I’m good with tools and I’m not afraid to dig in but I don’t like digging in blind specially when it comes to my motor. So as of right now I’m just missing the torque converter the ATI DAMPNER an oil pump and a timing chain bc why not replace it while I’m in there. Just saving up some money on the side to pay someone to take care of it and tune it

    • @nalley6815
      @nalley6815 Před 6 měsíci

      @@MysticShot I can understand that 100%. I’ll at least try to fix anything but I do NOT like tearing shit apart when I’ve never done it before and especially when there’s no one with me that’s done it before. But I can relate. I kept telling myself I’d have a 2000hp drag and drive car by 2023. Now I’m telling myself I’ll have a 2500hp drag and drive car by 2025 😂😂 hopefully will have a rolling chassis by the end of this year if I can get good on a tig welder…..
