I went to your link in the description for the original parts for your specific refrigerator. If I'm going to buy an original part I shouldn't have to cut off and replace the wire connectors. The original parts should have exactly what you need where you don't have to adapt to the newer wire connectors. Also you're paying 50% more for an original part, I think an original part for the refrigerator you have should come with the proper connectors.

If you had prayed to the invisible man in the sky to get Frigidaire to make their appliances as difficult to work on as possible, you can see that your prayers have been answered.

A few weeks ago, I noticed it had defrosted. There was no sound of the compressor running. I looked this problem up and a number of results suggested replacing the start relay and / or overload.
I ordered replacement parts, and they have now arrived, however I have misplaced the photograph I took of the original wiring.
The start relay is a 3 pin relay
Could someone please advise on how this should be wired?
The brown and blue pair of wires both came from what looks like a capacitor box. The blue and white wires appear to come from what I believe to be a thermostat box, which is then connected to the mains.

Disconnecting the starter relay from the compressor is my problem. It has no clips. I've tried prying (gently) with a screwdriver, nothing works.

@@SerafinN26 With some patience I worked it out. But the compressor was the problem. I junked the fridge and bought a good, used one.

    Greetings
How do I fix my Frigidaire ice maker which sends ice flying out of the ice maker mold and then outside the bucket instead of inside? May the Lord and saviour Jesus Christ bless you. Thank you.

Guys, I am a 61 year old woman, If I can replace this, so can you. Here is some answers to questions he did not show well, or not say. For one, when it is the Start device, your fan WILL run, then 99% of the time your compressor will run as well just not like before and you WILL hear a strange humming sound, the start device can work some then not work until it completely dies., MAKE sure you watch this video many times step by step, some of you are trying to pull the relay out with the wire clip still attached. It WILL come off, get it started with a flat head, then pull with hands it is okay to also jam in and lift out with flat head.
IF you have different color relay wire than BLUE AND RED, then you probably bought the wrong kit. Or your fridge is extremely old.
The old parts will probably be somewhat different than the new, they are replace parts that will fit!
Check to make positive you bought the correct kit. I would advise you purchase the whole kit if your a beginner, call you nearest replacement parts place and spend the extra $$ to make sure you get all the items you need. The kit cost me $102 in 2023.
It took me about 3 and 1/2 hours to do this. Take your time and do not get frustrated, yes, all the parts will come out eventually.
The butt splice connectors are very hard to smash down if you don't have a tool like him, I did not. So I had to go to Lowe's and buy a few more..for I smashed them and it popped out, the kit only comes with 2 of those. Also, I bet most of us don't have a heat gun, I didn't, so the blow dryer was taking FOREVER, so I used a lighter, but, be VERY careful if you do use this to shrink the insulation tubes, do not melt them to much or the wiring will melt. It saved me a lot of time but if your not good at this, just do the blow dryer.
I am SO happy, my fridge is running beautiful now!!!! Thank you PartSelect! A new fridge like mine is $2,000 now!
