I am so glad I found your video. I've been without heat in my 2002 Avalanche for almost 2 years because I was quoted $900 to change out my heater core, or I completely remove the dash myself and change it out. After I saw this, I had heat in less than 10 minutes. Thank you!

This is exactly what I needed thank you!
I'm coming home from work tonight, stopping for 20 minutes every mile to cool it down. It's after hours so I can't get the parts right now. This 30 minute drive has taken me 3 hours so far and I still have a couple miles to go. Glad I found this during one of my breaks.

This happened to me, so I just bypassed the heater core so I could get home. Instead of having two lines into the heater core just run one line to each other.

@@briangravel3231 I realized that move literally 10 minutes before I got home and still feel dumb about not thinking of it sooner, haha

I just drove 3.5hrs. As soon as i parked the hose on the passenger side broke. I used a pepsi can as a line tool and just hose clamped the hose right onto the heater core metal pipe. Drove 3.5hrs back home, with my reverse camera under the hood watching the hose. No leaks!

I like the camera under the hood idea to watch it. Mine broke while driving so I looped the hoses together using a ½ inch socket as a connecter and 2 hose clamps to hold it together. I like to read about other people's quick fix ideas to get them moving again. I knew there was a reason I always drink Pepsi from a can😂

I work for a utility company and the hose started leaking in my work truck as it's getting freezing cold, so I took some water service tubing and redneck engineered it to at least get it so I can drive without hugging the wheel😂

I so happened to remove mine. One came off pretty easily with either a plastic one like shown in the video or a long metal one that came with the same kit. However, the other one was giving me a fit until I got one from Advance Auto Parts that looked similar to the white plastic part, but was made out of metal. It's 3/4", probably made of aluminum but has a copper colored finish. I felt that it was well worth the investment. Also, the acces is tight and can be a bit difficult to reash as well, making it a bit difficult to gain access with a larger tool and the plastic one that I used didn't have a nice spring action to help keep it close and made it easier to accidentally drop while attempting to fit it around the connector.

Just a bit of silicone spray, not oil, grease or mineral oil, that deteriorates the o ring. Will help the fitting slide on. And put the hose onto the fitting before sliding it on the heater core tubes will be much easier.

I'll let you know how it goes .

Yes , the quick disconnect ( 3/4 ' ) does fit, it just needs to be gingelly pushed into the old bib. Using 2 fingers and thumb squeeze then rotate the bib and so on, once it's in there it come right off. I Suggest replacing both at the same time, no room for any tool back there,

As easy as that? So i got a 08 Chevy Silverado 2500 and then got a 08 GMC Sierra dully truck. I swamped out motors with the transmission. I changed cabs too so then the harness didn't want to connect to the transmission I ended up taking the whole dash out of the Chevy truck with the whole wiring harness two weeks straight on this truck and I did all the body work on it and even painted it. But I can not get those fucking things off for the life of mei am laying in the engine compartment on top of it and everything I did those connecters that slide under the pegs and I can't I tried for 2 hrs straight calling it every name in the book. They do not wanna come out.
