      Same here! Bought it a while ago & didn't need it, now have misfire code on #5 cylinder (2010 F150). replaced plug, coil, and injector which were all in great condition, I think it's the VVT solenoid which I'm tackling tomorrow. Fun.

    Fantastic video and well presented. However, you said the tool didn't give much info regarding the Ford F350 deisel. I see at the 3.16 minute mark of the video when you were going through the 'set up' section, you actualy selected 'spark IGN', when with a deisel you should have selected 'compression IGN'. This may have made a difference to the readings...😎. Thank you for a great video, from Adelaide Australia.

    We have a 2016 Honda CRV AWD. Is there any truth to what I've heard that with Honda, their code are not necessarily standardized and it's difficult to impossible to get a REAL list of the codes?
    I doubt it, but I'm not sure as this is not my strong point.

    • @ProjectTimeGarage
      @ProjectTimeGarage  Před 10 měsíci +2

      I have used this scanner on an Acura MDX and didn't find anything unusual. Keep in mind that there are OBD2 "generic" codes which most scanners will read, then there are OEM Extended OBD2 codes which require a MUCH MUCH more robust scanner which typically cost near $1000 to start. My Autel 906 was almost $3K.

    • @BlondieSL
      @BlondieSL Před 10 měsíci

      @@ProjectTimeGarageInterestingly enough, I contacted the seller to confirm if our vehicle model was compatible with this device. (I guess that means for the OEM extended codes).
      To my great shock, the seller confirmed that
      IT IS NOT!
      Honda is a very common vehicle all over N. America, so for it to not be included is silly to me.
      I ended up ordering the
      MUCAR CDE900 PRO.
      I realized that I'm not going to get much info, really, from cheap ones.
      I also realized that I'll have to bite the bullet and buy 1 or 2 of their expansion packages.
      There's a package that provides "full function/features" and one that provides 28 resets.
      I'm not sure if the "full" package includes the 28 resets, so I'll order that one first and find out. If it doesn't, then I'll get the 28 resets package.
      I justified this purchase, that will end up costing me well over $300 with the idea that it would only take just one breakdown that a garage would charge well over that amount.

    • @ProjectTimeGarage
      @ProjectTimeGarage  Před rokem

      Actually, it all depends on what the vehicle can report over basic OBD. For example, my 2015 GMC can show total timing advance, but my 2014 ford cannot. The scanner can listen to and report trans temp, as long as the vehicle is sending that PID out.

    I went to their site to see if they had some sort of database lookup where you can enter a vehicle to confirm if a model of the Foxwell will work with it.
    I have to say, for a layperson, the site sucks. LOL
    There's a drop down with a list of "things" and then you enter the vehicle's Make, Model and year if that's available.
    Ok... do that... a weird message comes up, then suggests their more expensive models.
    So then you go back to the drop down to select something else, but rather than the dang site retaining the vehicle info, it makes you enter it again. This is for EVERY ITEM in the list.
    I find that just stupid.
    I would have preferred where you'd enter the vehicle info, then it would provide a list, with diff. models and checks or X as to which model can detect which item.
    So it's difficult for a lay person to know which model would be best for basic to a bit more than basic reader.
    When I saw that the "firing" info wasn't there for that GM, THAT is exactly where my concerns are.
    What is supported and what isn't and which models do support.
    OH well.
