What do you guys think? There are many pure transaction relationships here but I wonder how many blossom into a solid relationship like this and if the honesty and respect for each other made all the difference. It certainly built trust between them which is key to any relationship

Hey I need to clarify something with this video, as much as it was transactional it wasn't a guy hiring a hooker type of scenario it was more of I guess a sugar daddy (for a lack of a better term ) scenario that turned into a genuine relationship. I lived a decade in South East Asia from when I was 13 and then all over the world. The key is this girl was 19 and she was still able to bond normally with a honest, happy and fun guy that understands her. At 35 that ability will be over for a lass working at a bar. So in general your rule will be true but for young women who haven't been years in the game they are liable to fall in love if the guy is cool and confident. Good story, I know a few just like that with now 50 years under their belt.

Chad I love this video / story. I have become more and more convinced the Western idea that a relationship can’t produce legitimate love and happiness unless it STARTS (and this is key) from a combination of (1) feeling of romance and chemistry, (2) friendship, (3) common interests, and (4) attraction, though if attraction was the initial reason to start talking, it has to be followed up with 1-3. The Western mindset is that as long as the relationship STARTS this way, it is OK that a woman ends up being happy about a man’s wealth and it is OK for the man to be happy about a woman’s beauty. BUT, for some illogical reason, if the relationship STARTS due to an attraction to money and beauty, it is forever doomed to be only a sterile, transactional relationship and any romantic emotions the couple later claims to have developed are just lies to hide the embarrassing fact of the true nature of their relationship. When think about this logically, you have to admit in the privacy of your mind that how a relationship starts doesn’t portend or preclude genuine love, affection, good companionship, and happiness. They are happy and in love. Who cares how their relationship started. Oh, I know who cares: people who haven’t discovered yet that their ideas about love and romance are illogical fantasies that they grew up with. I am NOT saying people are dumb. I really am not. I once had the exact same illogical notions and I don’t think I was dumb. Being incorrect didn’t make me dumb. Fortunately, humans have the ability to reflect on our beliefs and change them when it is logical to do so. I am happy for this couple.

Asian women have an obligation to support their elderly parents and even younger siblings. That's in their culture and is ingrained in them. This is where transactional interest takes priority. After financial needs are met, they would happily latch on to a good man and not let go. If one understands the "Family Obligations", one would then understand an Asian woman.

How do you tackle that up front? In the first couple dates, just bring it up? "What are you looking for?" I mean, even when they say they are not looking for money, they are still looking for money. Duh. Either way, whether it's for love or not, you will end up supporting them.

I'm happy they are still together but let's be realistic 😅 this is a rarity and the truth is she was a hooker and he fell in love with her, I'd still find it incredibly difficult to ever trust her sincerity unfortunately, she was screwing him to provide for her family and she is quite possibly staying with him because she wants to keep that lifestyle, I know that he was also screwing around and paying for it but it's not the same, once a guy wants to keep you around it's most likely true love, but for her it's impossible to know because he's still providing for her exactly like he was 8 years ago.

When I arrived site-unseen in Manila I rode a 125XL for a year around all the islands meeting the chicks I already knew online, and many others. 18000. miles, 56 islands. I was like a bull in a porcelain shop. OMG. After I had settled in Valencia I soon met "Her", the final one. 42 years younger and a solid NINE. She was 19, I was 58. The next three years were absolute heaven...until she got a better offer. A "long con" I guess. Now back in rural northwest I got me a warm dog.

Chad, the transactional outlook in the beginning is fine (no different than the west), but I think the guy has to feel like it turns into something more to her, than just money. And I agree, if you both communicate your needs, wants and boundaries up front, hopefully a love and trust will grow.

I will be completely honest. I am 53 years old American and I always been good provide. I was married for 14 years and I was the breadwinner and my wife was hot. So we each had our rolls to play. It’s really quite common that a girl starts out ho’ing herself out, but through time together the feelings develop into genuine warmth. Don’t mean to throw cold water on your excitement for this couple, but their situation is really quite common.
SAD BUT TRUST CHAD...there's no real love story...everybody got an AGENDA....AND for about 50% they are content and the world go on.

The only issue is when the man cannot offer anything else other than money. Many men actually internally believe this hence they only lead with money. This is quite common with older out of shape men in the Philippines who had trouble attracting decent women elsewhere.
There are women who will love support and serve their man to their dying day whether they have money or not. I've experienced this on more than one occasion and its great to have women in your life that don't ask you to buy them things.
Yet they still treat you like the greatest man in the world.
For every 100% transactional relationship like this you will hear 19 others where it ends up in massive disappointment for the man.
I really think ALL large age-gap relationships are transactional. Not that anything is wrong with that. I’m not expressing my opinion on these relationships, plus I’m not saying the couples don’t feel love for each other over time, but I’ll admit every time I see a very young woman from the province with an older expat, it is so obvious she is with him for an instant increase in standard of living + financial security.

Hard to answer that in the comment section. I have a desire to meet the right one for me for long term, won't settle for less, also not feeling urgency, and I will say this, finding.a relationship is very easy here, finding a good one is not. Some get lucky quick, but many settle and rush into something that comes their way, most don't find what they are looking for quickly or easily.
