This is something Landfall Games, the devs for Clustertruck, tend to do when someone's streaming the game. And it is glorious.
Out of curiosity, do they still do it? And do they only go for bigger names, or do they sometimes go for smaller streamers too?

@@greenoftreeblackofblue6625 A superb gimmick of a horror game to me would be if it started changing little things in Windows, but it'd be hard to draw a line to keep it from being destructive. Also some jackwads would install it on public computers and screw them up.

So on one hand, this is a good way to build a relationship with the players that are streaming your games. On the other hand, it also both does and does not provide people reason to play the game.

And I had good reason for asking- To give an idea of how large my backlog on streams is, I'm just NOW watching Jon's stream from December 23rd, 2018. This is both funny and disturbing at the same time.
This is something the devs of Clustertruck tend to do to screw anyone streaming the game and it's just funny as hell. Especially if they make the streamers go: "Uh-oh. Uh-oh!" a lot.

Clustertruck, the developers apparently have tools that can edit what happens in the game with people who are streaming (so can the twitch chat by voting, but they have more limited options).

mew4ever23 This is done through twitch. They literally cannot do this to any random game unless it’s streaming.
Yeah, its through the twitch streaming system, so the computer already has a pipeline to the internet, they just also use the same pipeline to change a few things in game, like the vote in the stream changes the game
It’s part of the Twitch integration. They have a script they can post in chat to make these happen. It’s part of the same stuff that lets chat pick out hazards in-game, just they can use special chat commands that don’t come up otherwise. If you don’t link the game to your Twitch account, Landfall can’t do this.
