    Really great review on a big chunk of things. I had totally forgot about the Chi battery system and that battery charger. I didn’t realize it was so much less cheaper. Definitely happy that I did not get one yet. I think the chai is the better way to go.
    When I got my XR I did not do the bundle at all. I think a lot of the accessories that came with that are something I would never really use. So I would rather get some thing I actually want and pay a little more than get some thing I only kind of want and save a few bucks.
    But thanks for the info. Keep it up. 😀

      Got my first ride it’s amazing! Did a carving and got my first fall (slip) and it’s a blast too!!! So need to recuperate :(.
      It’s a smooth dry pavement I don’t know what went wrong is it my carving style, setting or the stock non-treaded wheels? Mine was set to sequoia since doing slow to medium speed only.
      Novice like me would appreciate if you do some vlog about this one since you’ve been riding for a while and do lots of carving.

    • @CinematicSouls
      @CinematicSouls  Před 3 lety

      Hey Weiser! That’s awesome and a bummer. How did you exactly fall? Did you lose your balance or was it a nose dive? I’d recommend just switching to mission and get used to that setting. Been meaning to make a tutorial on the carving. I know it can be a bit tricky especially if you never snowboarded before.

    • @weiserjosephalfaro6229
      @weiserjosephalfaro6229 Před 3 lety

      @@CinematicSouls Yeah it 's really a bummer! Wanna ride but need to heal first due to whiplash and purple hip :(. Didn't nosedive, I carved it a lot but medium speed (under 10mph) and cautious because my safety gears haven't arrived yet but then it slipped.

    • @CinematicSouls
      @CinematicSouls  Před 3 lety

      Dang that’s rough. Those types of falls suck since you never really know what the true cause was. Definitely rest for a bit and then come back when you’re 100%. Then just take it slow and wait on the carving until you feel a lot more comfortable just doing turns. I’ll see if I can make a tutorial soon and provide some more help!

  • @RCDevotee
    @RCDevotee Před 3 lety +2

    Thanks for the video and Happy Thanksgiving! Great tips! Unfortunately I went all buck wild when I first got my XR and have it pretty tricked out. I got the Kush pads as I hated the stock rear just like you. They absolutely should be mandatory. You need that extra push off the rear to really carve. The rail guards and slider guards are also mandatory in my opinion. I put them on before I even went out for a ride so the XR should look pretty much brand new whenever they are changed out. They also really change the look of the XR to whatever color ways you prefer. I also enjoy the fangs I added to the XR. I personally think this should also be mandatory for safety as it has helped me avoid a couple nosedives already.
    PEVs have been an amazing thing during this pandemic. Onewheels and other PEVs are great for fun and being socially distanced. I still prefer riding my power scooter (Dualtron Compact) as it can easily maintain 35-40MPH and stay with traffic. The suspension and wide, solid tires were made to eat up stuff and never worry about flats. I take the scooter for many of my errands around San Francisco and never worry about hills. I also use it as a shopping cart like thing and throw the shopping basket on the deck and just do my shopping. Of course, when I go for big food runs with the wife and kid I have to take the SUV (shopping utility vehicle). Once it is all folded up it can easily fit in my trunk and really doesn't take that much more room than an XR.
    Sadly I really don't ride my XR nearly as much these days. Once I decided to learn to ride an electric unicycle my XR riding days were numbered. I was able to rent an EUC for a week for very little money and spent a couple days going through the growing pains of learning to ride. It reminded me of my first weekend learning to ride a snowboard. The first day was horrible with many bumps and bruises but I was able to go down a hill on the second day and then I was hooked. With the EUC once you get past being able to mount, balance, turn and stop at a basic level you quickly learn how awesome the feeling is with the other hands-free PEV (like the Onewheel). The speed and power of my 100v Gotway Nikola absolutely annihilates my XR. I can comfortably cruise at 30MPH and hit 35MPH+ when needed. I am absolutely geared up when I ride my EUC but I have grown accustomed to it and appreciate the safety it provides me. You should give an EUC a try because I think you will love it. I first thought EUCs were silly but they are just awesome PEVs and already have two of them with a third likely coming next year.

    • @CinematicSouls
      @CinematicSouls  Před 3 lety +1

      Sup Robert! Man I love your comments. I appreciate the time and effort you put into them. I hope others read them as well and get some helpful insight from them as I do. "Shopping Utility Vehicle" made me LOL! Scooter always sounds fun especially at 35-40 mph. They will always be my OG PEV. That's what really got me down this path. The EUC is definitely like this mythical creature to me. It seems amazing to ride and just need to find some time to get one and learn and practice. Renting one sounds like a good idea because I'd like to practice by myself like I did on the OneWheel and not have people waiting around on me lol maybe with the holidays coming up I'll find sometime to get one. Thanks again for always supporting me Robert and watching my channel and sharing your experiences! I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

      Hey Matt, I have yet to nose dive on the xr and need to use the fangs, so I'll say if you want to be budget conscious, just the float plates but it probably won't be enough, Float life actually sells new bumpers called Bang Bumpers that work as a float plate and helps with nosedives because of the slick material used!

      Hey Steven, unfortunately not. I have seen videos where folks have switched out the front footpad and swapped the sensor but most seem to go back to the original footpad. Lots of issues with the sensor when you have a curved surface. Whaaaaat! That is a steal! Geez! Congrats on that bargain! With all the money you saved you should go for an XR lol but that's awesome and I hoping you're enjoying the board so far. Let me know if you end up getting the XR! Appreciate you watching and dropping a comment! Have a great Thanksgiving!

    dude how did you not talk about the flight fins, i mean you have them on your board thats like the sickest add on and people are on the fence about them. Are the heavy dutyguards worth the money over the regular guards for the flight fins. on a good note i did not know about the chi battery fast charger thank you for that.

      @CinematicSouls  Před 3 lety +1

      Hahaha ahhhh I know Jerson -___- I thought about it but the video was already pushing close to 30 mins and I figured I'd cover the basic accessories here and then dive into the more unique ones (i.e. flight fins, fangs, etc.) in another video. Didn't want to overwhelm folks lol and yeah chi is the way to go! Thanks for watching my man! I appreciate your time and dropping a comment!

      It could always be worse though right? You could live in Baltimore City where the water at our inner harbor is graded F for the insane amount of pollution and fecal matter! Haha I've only been to Hawaii once when I was kid. Barely remember it sadly since I was so young. Can't wait to come back and visit one day and really experience the life and culture. I'm sure riding your OneWheel around there must be awesome! You guys have a pretty decent community out there from videos I've seen!

      @@CinematicSouls I'm on my 3rd day, so still learning. It did finally "click" 10 minutes before foot fatigue set in. I finally felt like I was a snowboarder again. We have the Ala Wai Canal which is on the mauka side of Waikiki. It's so disgusting that you'll probably get a viral infection if you touch it, although people use it to kayak. Anyways, Hawaii is alright, but living in Japan was so much more fun!

      Pint I would say around 12-14 mph and on the XR maybe 14-17 mph. Really depends on what path or road I'm on and how well I know it and if it's crowded or not. Let me know if you have other questions!
