Don't use NTSC if you live in Europe this is a huge mistake I often see from other videomakers because they want that 10 fps more (60 instead of 50) for having smoother footage, but that's not going to make a huge difference and you will have a lot of flickering if you're shooting indoors or with artificial lights because in EU we use 50 Hz and in USA 60 Hz
Amazing video, thank you!
thanks bro
Love this VDO.
thanks for this! do you mind showing how the result would be with the provided settings you have ?
Thanks for video
Most welcome!
Thank you for video)
The only options I have on my Sony a7ii on XAVC S are 50p and 25p. What do I need to do?
Thank you im wondering if and when u have time if you can go over the pp2 settings. Also, I enjoyed your videos bc you gave a reasons why you were changing the settings. I’m excited to shoot and thank you so much for paying it forward we appreciate it
Of course! and I actually have an entire video dedicated to picture profiles if you want to check it out:

Would it be best to keep it at 60 if I wanna do Slow motion video in post?
Thank you! I switched to sony for work and was mostly looking at how to shoot video with it since I dont know a lot about video. It looks like the video settings are automatic once you are shooting? So there's no manual adjustments? I could be totally wrong.
Hi Zach, I would like to do a video shooting (Documentary) with Sony A7II. Please help me with the settings. Thanks
Thanks for the bed bro nice but I think I miss whether you put +4 for 4K or was that 1080 P for slow motion?
❤❤❤❤❤Good Information 👍 Sony A7 2 Best Video Settings ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Can a7ii using aperture priority, within fixed iso, (the ss is auto)
Hey dude, thanks for the video, it was really helpful, appreciate it! Just one query about these settings:
I have 3 SanDisk Extreme Pro Memory Cards at 256GB with 200MB/s speed, but my camera is telling me that they aren't compatible for a File Format at XAVC S. Would you know what the problem here is? If unsolvable, would any of the other two settings be suitable? Question open to anyone else in the comments too! Thanks a bunch!
I am a beginner with cameras, have recently picked up the Sony A7II to film outdoors footage whilst I am backpacking on trails - for context.
I'm trying to make ig content for my gym that I just opened and I want to start doing videos. Can you mic up this camera and is there a good lens for video for the a2? Ty
Bro we can shoot log format in this camera
Hey there! We are using these setting for our videos however I find that when I upload my footage in Final Cut Pro and start to edit, any bright footage is really hard to edit and lacks depth. DO you have any advice on what settings I should be adjusting for this?
If your finding your footage to be bright, it means your over exposing your images. You’ll
need to adjust aperture, ISO, and shutter speed depending on the lighting situation you are in.
What shutter speed can I set when shooting in daylight? I was recommended 1/50, but I either have overexposure or poor picture quality due to the dark filter. What filter are you using by the way?
What happens to the picture if you shoot at 1/200 or 1/1000 in daylight? I look through the videos I shot and see that some are of better quality, some are worse, but I can’t see what settings were used. Shows only frame rate 50 fps.
And I also wanted to ask how to take photos and videos in one shooting if the settings I make for video (even specifically in video mode) reconfigure the settings in photo mode at the same time - M?
Can you pls explane TC/UB i dont understand how to set it the right way😅
Thanks for video.
do you have a7ii setup tutorial for photos ? I only find it for a7iii and the menu is very different
Working on a video right now!

Do you have a video out on adjusting iso and aperture. i just bought a sony a7ii and am having a hard time adjusting these settings to get the best possible photos
Just posted one! Should be close to the top of my recent videos
Is the camera allowed to record more than 30 minutes? If so, how can I do it? I’ve been trying to figure that out but I haven’t found something that solve the problem.
Any advice on how to setting your A7ii camera for photography?
Will start working on a video for you!
@@Zacharytm thank you very much I will wait and watch
if my setting are 1/50 , f2.8 for a night video shoot , what should be the ISO before it starts adding grain ?
Probably somewhere around 1200-1600
PAL or NTSC (not NSTC) is region dependent. NTSC is the video standard commonly used in North America and PAL is the video standard which is popular in most of the European and Asian countries. NTSC is 30/60fps and PAL is usually 25/50fps.
Yeah i am using PAL... i am in Australia and i am shooting in 25/100fps.
One thing that confused me when i first started is that ntsc and pal have different opinions in your settings.
Oh forgot to ask! How do we upload the videos from camera to laptop? I have tried for search it up for a whole year and asked a few people but no answer I would truly appreciate it thank you again
Just with your SD card! You should be able to plug it directly into a computer and find your files there!
Hey, I just recently bought a Andycine A6 4k Monitor to use with my Sony a7ii Camera. I hooked it up with the HDMI and all it says is no signal. Ive tried looking up everything to fix it. Can you help me? Have you run inti this issue?
Set to 1080i rather than 1080p
@@samuelnagtegaaldid this work?
i have the right memory card for XAVC but when i go to upload it to my computer it doesn’t pop up, what am i doing wrong
You should find it under DCIM and then Clips, if you formatted it on your Sony
What about the auto focus
Should i go for a6400 or a7ii for videography
Just made a video about this if you want to check it out!

Sir, what best setup to shot car, with editing slow mo
Shoot in 60fps if possible! and bring a polarizer for your lens, it will help a ton!
can I record in 4K with my Sony a7 ii if i got a 4k memory card?
Unfortunately no, while having a memory card that can record 4K is nice, it doesn’t directly effect the quality of the footage
Why does my a7ii in xavc s only allow me 50 or 25 frames? Not like 30 or 24 that im used to?
Ooh region lock frames?? 😂😂😂😂 I totally forgot about it
Goosh its so funny and fucked up at the same time
Happened to me when I first started! You can change from PAL to NSTC in settings and that should fix the issue
Sorry please
What about slow motion in sony alpha7 mark ii
I would switch your frames per second to 60 or 120 at 720p but quality be reduced in the latter
Can you talk about SLog?
Sure thing! Working on a video now
Worst guide ever
this operation or setting not available as follows a7ii how to fix this @zachMcGee
Sorry please
What about slow motion in sony alpha7 mark ii
Cannot work
Shoot in 60fps and you can slow it down to 1/2 speed. you can only shoot this at 720p resolution though
