@@berniespy Ok you got me. Let me revise my statement (this time without the aid of several glasses of wine). I guess it depends where you come from. In the UK both New Order and the band they started as (Joy Division) are considered Iconic and pretty much legendary. Not for nothing is the 12" single of Blue Monday still the best seller of all time. Other places will have other tastes.

It's strange how much comfort I took out of this song as a kid, in 1987, as I struggled through school with a learning disability that not one could identify, now known as Nonverbal Learning Disorder, and it's not something you "grow out of", it follows you into adulthood and destroys your chances at holding down simple jobs and slowly drains the life out of you and your will to keep trying, and you live in fear EVERYDAY, wondering when the shoe's going to drop next! This song was so peaceful to me as a 9 y.o., but as an adult, who understands the lyrics, it was actually, ominously prophetic.

    Lyrics 🎶
    I feel so extraordinary
Something's got a hold on me
I get this feeling I'm in motion
    A sudden sense of liberty
    I don't care 'cause I'm not there
And I don't care if I'm here tomorrow
Again and again, I've taken too much
Of the things that cost you too much
I used to think that the day would never come
I'd see delight in the shade of the morning sun
My morning sun is the drug that brings me near
To the childhood I lost, replaced by fear
I used to think that the day would never come
That my life would depend on the morning sun
When I was a very small boy
Very small boys talked to me
Now that we've grown up together
They're afraid of what they see
That's the price that we all pay
And the value of destiny comes to nothing
    I can't tell you where we're going
I guess there was just no way of knowing
I used to think that the day would never come
I'd see delight in the shade of the morning sun
My morning sun is the drug that brings me near
To the childhood I lost, replaced by fear
I used to think that the day would never come
That my life would depend on the morning sun
    I feel so extraordinary
Something's got a hold on me
I get this feeling I'm in motion
    A sudden sense of liberty
The chances are we've gone too far
You took my time and you took my money
Now I fear you've left me standing
In a world that's so demanding
I used to think that the day would never come
I'd see delight in the shade of the morning sun
My morning sun is the drug that brings me near
To the childhood I lost, replaced by fear
I used to think that the day would never come
That my life would depend on the morning sun

Fun fact: The line “Now that we’ve grown up together, they’re all taking drugs with me” was the original lyric. Producer, Stephen Hague felt the lyric needed to be changed to “They’re afraid of what they see,” on the recording in order to avoid trouble with radio air play. This was in the mid 80s when radio could make or break a single.

From the tragedy of Ian's suicide, and the ashes, these guys struggled on to become the best band in the world. Frought with divisive relationships and monumental public squabbles, they somehow soldier on. Even when Hooky plays hooky and Barney cops an effete pose of indifference, and the whole ensemble seems mired in a casual and fragmenting stripe of ennui, they always crawl back on stage. I know they're tired and bored and "fucking over it", but they always manage to pull it back together. Thank god for that. I dont know what my worldview would be like without their music, but it wouldnt be anywhere near as kaleidoscopic and wonderful.

You gotta give credit to the band's Joy Division roots, where it all started... well, Warsaw if we want to be technical.

I can’t look at them without seeing Ian’s ghost - I reckon he’d be well pleased for his band mates - it takes guts to continue as New Order have. Rest in peace dear Ian (I’m ashamed of the things of the things I’ve been put through, I’m ashamed of the person I am 😭)

So Mega Melodie. Yes, that's New Order as you know the band. Technique --- stem - with common scales to a typical rhythm of space and time. Great job. Your Daum Othmar.

What could be better ...... The lyrics of this song are ambiguous given the particular moments that overwhelm us ..... they can be interpreted and transposed to those who are waiting to find the light of day and to relive again...... New Order .....Thk I used to think that the day would never come
I'd see delight in the shade of the morning sun
