- This is the second part of the story of when my Husband died. After this video I am coming back full time. I want to thank everyone for being there to support me and my family. It's been rough.

It's a hard decision and it all depends on the company you use. The one we used was so professional. They say 5-6 weeks to get the body back, but it was more like 2-3 weeks. They let me know exactly where he was every step of the way and even give you warning when the ashes are being sent back so someone will sign for them. They don't leave the package at your door. Then they let you know exactly what procedures are done. It's all Doctors practicing new techniques. It's not like people think at all. You don't get a sliced up body back. They cremate for you. They handle all the arrangements. Not every science company is this professional or this kind. They assign you a person who promptly responds to all email. They are also available 24-7. It took so much pressure off of us. They don't sell you anything. The ashes come in a box that you can leave them in but we purchased special urns that we know my Husband would have loved. The ash just looks like sand. There was enough to fill 3 medium urns, 1 large one and 20 small scatter tubes that were given to his friends to scatter in places they thought was beautiful or reminded them of him.

@@MyzMyzterious32 It's a generous gift to leave a body to science. It's not how a lot of people think. They don't leave you in jars or decompose your body in anyway (unless that's what you sign up for). The place I use is purely for practicing different medical techniques and for testing medication. It's no worse than an autopsy. Actually it was less invasive. They fixed a hernia on my husband that I didn't know he had, treated a bunion and tested a drug. That's all. Then they got him right back to us.
You are one of the most generous teachers on CZcams. Thank you for teaching us art for so many years and for teaching us about your experience with losing your beloved Howie. So glad to see you back! ❤

You didn't have to give us the details, but I'm setting here tearing up as you spoke. What a beautiful story, I see nothing but the love for your husband and family........ Thank you Lori. I have 2 thoughts coming out of this video.
First, I'm really glad you got that time with him - and you managed to video your conversation. That will be so valuable to you in the future; take a copy of it and put that somewhere safe. And Howie was at peace when he went. In times of trouble, mother Mary comes to me, whispers words of wisdom "Let it be."
Second thing is that, if he were writing now, Moses may have had something to say one way or the other about donating a body to science. And clearly this is something that has helped you and your family; I recall that the psalmists mention more than once that widows and orphans are especially on the heart of the Almighty. He is with you.
L'shana tovah - throughout this year, may His mercies surround you, new every morning like the sun, sustaining you, upholding you, even when you cannot see them.

Wow Lori, glad you posted another video, since your first video my Husband had a heart attack and died. It was a total shock to us since he was not ill. I am glad you were able to speak to your husband in the hospital, and know he is going to be okay. Gentle hugs to you and your family. We never know how strong we are until tragedy occurs. At my husbands funeral I played American Pie, and Jealous of the Angels.

My heart goes out to you. You will make it through what is one of the most difficult journeys of your life. I’ve been widowed for 10 yrs. I can only impart my very limited wisdom: 1) you’re never ready 2) it takes one year to handle the grief better 3) it was 3 years before I got over the hump (i.e. - not crying/getting upset on significant anniversaries and holidays, or triggered by things that reminded me of him 4) it was over 3 years before my mindset changed from “we”to “me”. I lost my mum recently and I have a tiny bit of understanding of what your going through though it's not the same as the love of your life. I so respect that you donated his body to science and its so interesting what they do. Thank you for being real and brave. It's not always easy to share these deeply personal events in your life.

I share your grief I lost my husband/ best friend 4 years ago in a similar way. I did not catch the feeling that he would be leaving that night. He had telling us he would be okay. It wasn'T until I told him I would be ok and if he had to go it would be okay. I still have my times of feeling lost. .I send my love and prayers.

Hugs and love to you! Losing your beloved can't be easy and my heart goes out to you. I'm married 30 yrs now and I know I may lose my beloved or him, me and I do know how blessed we are to have each other still but life has a way of hitting hard at anytime. Stay strong think positive and continue being around positive loving people so you can get some sun in those dark moments! Also, I'm glad you're slowly coming back to the things that bring you happiness, mainly your art, it may be still slow for you w intermittent darkness but it will get somewhat better. Slowly w time you will heal! Sad to say this but it's so true. You'll be left with all those beautiful happy memories! Take care of yourself & stay safe, lovely lady!

God Lori, I am crying right along with you dear. Just take the time you need sweetie. I know what you are going through. Lost my husband, my youngest was only 10 hrs old….it just throws everyone for a loop and we don’t all deal with it in the same way. I am sure he is OK dear, it is we that remain that take a while to be OK. You will be Ok, just accept the time it will take. Know that you are loved by many and that when they leave…..they do watch over us until our time too.

This week I'll be posting one more video because it's the Jewish holiday, but next week it's full time learning. I am so much stronger now. My head is clear and I can finally feel joy again. For a while the world was only grey. I still cry for him daily, but it's not the same as the raw hurt I felt before. I am excited about being back. Art heals!

We've had 4 close family members pass away in the last 3 years and all have been seen or heard by some in the family after their passing. And I know several others who have had near death experiences. It gives a lot of hope and peace, doesn't it? 💓

Lori, I appreciate you sharing what you did about what Howie told you about the NDE. I have such a paralyzing fear of death. It actually gets in the way of my life sometimes. I’ve talked to my Rabbi about it, I’ve talked to other Rabbi’s about it. I’ve been told so many times as a Jew I shouldn’t question these things and focus on death. I’ve asked people of other religions. This little bit of info you gave me has been so helpful to me. I appreciate it greatly. Once again let me say how sorry I am for your loss. I think I am ready now. I am actually excited and ready to go. I have missed CZcams but knew I needed time to get my head together. I am promising 1 video a week for the first month but I am sure I will do more judging by how I feel. I just want the Jewish Holidays to be over so I can concentrate better. It's a new beginning.

My heart goes out to you and your family for your loss. I lost my earth-bound Angel this year as well. My Mom was my best friend and greatest supporter whom I loved with all my heart. I send my sincere condolences to you, during this time I was grieving the loss of my best friend's (24 yrs) youngest daughter who just turned 27, I have known her most of her life.
