Ask Herc Ep. 3 - Should I Upgrade to AMD Ryzen 2600 or NVIDIA GTX 1080?

We are kicking off a new series simply called "Ask Herc." This will be used to answer questions about computer hardware I get from Facebook, Twitter, or CZcams. If I feel that the question can relate to a lot of folks, I will include it in the video. I will do my best to make them weekly, but sometimes life can get in the way!
Here are the five questions from this video (short form):

I will always try and make the last question a "Will this work?" question. Meaning that you send me a list of parts, and I will explain if it will work or not. I will also go into specifics about each part and how it can affect the entire build as a whole. If I get enough questions, this can probably be spinoff series. A lot of these quesitons will most likely be for desktops and CPUs for PC gaming:

I think it would be best to choose a better CPU over a GPU. Having a low to mid CPU with a high GPU will only cause a bottle neck. What do you guys think?
