    I’ve got the same car just metallic black. I love it so much, such great power and not much road noise for a 4.2 diesel so quiet.

    Great review Roger. I like your style. It reminds me of Harry Metcalfe. I hope your channel grows and you get a lot more subs. The new Cayenne is on its way quite soon. It's going to be mega!

    I thought the stopped sale of the 2016 Cayenne Diesel was the last here in USA? I am not aware of a 2017 Cayenne Diesel model here in USA? Is this only in Europe?

    Nice. I have a 2016 diesel. And mine morph out at 90k us and i can not find one as full of options as what i have ...But in the states you could not get the s or any ride controls . Sad would love to get one ....Dean

      Dean Constantine we bought one used and i firmly believe that it is the most maxed or Cayenne there is. The previous owner just got every Option there was exept for „stand Heizung „ which it has anyway and then went for Porsche exklusive manufacturing.

    Given the engine, I always thought the V8 diesel deserved more than a 'Cayenne S' badge.

    People wanting to buy diesel sportscars are like people wanting a Rolls Royce with a tow hook: they should be banned for life buying a real car...

    Ummm, I seriously test drove one of these today with vast excitement and it was the worst diesel I have EVER driven re turbo lag (FROM STANDSTILL) ... and that includes trucks. We did 5 launches from zero and agreed that turbo lag was about 1.5 seconds.... what a heap of $hit. We took it back within 10 minutes and then tried a few launches with my humble ford territory single turbo diesel.... and agreed that my Ford had about 1/3 of the porsches disgraceful turbo lag.... Sorry porsche - complete fail..... anyone thinking of buying one DO NOT just floor it on the move (it goes great then)..... do a few standstill takeoffs and you laugh your guts up.

    • @johnw6125
      @johnw6125 Před 5 lety +6

      You must have found a dodgy one because I’ve driven a few and they’ve all been just like Roger said.

    • @anthonyspanjich2772
      @anthonyspanjich2772 Před 5 lety

      Must have been because no way would anyone make something that bad? Anyway problem solved - I bought an SQ7 with twin turbo plus electric supercharger for down low - practically zero lag.

    • @xy-yt3xp
      @xy-yt3xp Před 5 lety

      It does have some Turbo lag but i quite like Engine without linear power because they so boring. What the hell Were you testing. You dont know Home to Launch a Porsche. Pusch break paddel and Gas paddle to go into Launch Mode. Car holds revs and lets clutch out=>Instant Max torqe and Zero Turbo lag. I think the disel s Engine has lots of character and was intended like that.
      - Grat v8 Sound
      - Crazy Crazy torqe,
      -compares in feel to a 500hp gasoline engine
      - Great fuel economy

    • @anthonyspanjich2772
      @anthonyspanjich2772 Před 3 lety

      @Zoltan all good.... I bought an audi SQ7. no turbo lag
      czcams.com/video/QnDdmUqQ7m8/video.html
      the porsche was not good - maybe I tested a dud

    • @anthonyspanjich2772
      @anthonyspanjich2772 Před 3 lety +1

      @Zoltan Requiring to pre rev" your car via launch control to get into boost zone to avoid a massive initial dead spot is stupid..... Launch control is for special occasions and bypasses initial turbo lag most diesels have if it needs that to get going up front. Audi shove a (world first) 48 volt electric supercharger on the SQ7 that spools up instantly for about 3 seconds if you dump it..... result = it dumps air in until the first (smaller) turbo kicks in big time - followed shortly thereafter by the bigger turbo. I happen to be an Engineer with a Semi licence that has driven everything including earthmovers. The Porsche was crap so you go buy one and hit launch control every take off. Porsche - go visit Audi to learn something. My humble Ford Territory 2.7 Diesel (single turbo) was better than that crap Porsche
