Nice to see someone else that’s not a mega everything perfect builder.

I watch some of those videos and come away amazed at what gets built. I suspect a lot of them use mods / cheats to get them done, but who knows. Maybe they just have more free time!

To use the power shards that you make from the blue/gold/purple slugs you have to research the Underclock/Overclock research in your MAM!
That unlocks the little locked section in your smelter/constructor etc.

Got it, thanks! I've been looking for that for a while.

If the problem is just keeping those refineries making plastic for the short term until you hit the milestone to get fuel power plants, you can just have a few fluid buffers and occasionally come back to flush the entire system of the accumulated fluids. It's not a permanent fix, but it's perfectly workable and more sensible than building increasingly many buffers just to get the plastic you need to advance.

I've never used the flush. Does it just dump all the fluids and they disappear? If so, that's a great option I never thought of.
      Thanks for the comment!

@@Gaming_with_Doc Yeah, examine any buffer or span of pipe on the system you want to empty. There should be a handle you can pull with a button to control whether to flush just that particular buffer/pipe span or the entire connected network. The flushed fluid just disappears.

The simple way to deal with too much fluid, and one that won't just fill up, is to have a packager dealing with any overflow, with the output going into a grinder.

A grinder... I haven't heard of that machine before. I'll keep a lookout for it. Thanks!

@@Gaming_with_Doc I forget the proper name, but the one that grinds up materials to make tickets.
      Awesome Sink or something?
It makes for a great overflow for anything that will clog up your lines, even if you don't plan on touching the tickets.
You can just use a smart splitter to redirect only on overflow.
Of course, it only takes conveyors, hence the need for the packaging plant, to convert liquids into solid goods.

      That's the Sink indeed.
Another solution specifically for fuel is adding generators to consume the overflow

You can press R when placing foundations to enable Zoom Mode which makes placing multiple foundations easier.

Thanks for the reminder! I need to make a cheat sheet to hang on my monitor to remember all of the hotkeys. They make the game a lot easier.
      Thanks for watching!

To quickly see what you have stored in a box or container you can "x-ray" it by pressing F and aim at what you want to scan. The Hud will then show you what you get back if you dismantle the thing you are aiming at, which just happens to be whatever materials needed to build the storage AND all its content. Just remember not to actually dismantle it.

Interesting little hack. I'll have to remember that one. Thanks for watching!
