Not sure what heads but we made 640whp. That was in 1997 with a S-trim w/2.75 pulley, out the box but the original street heat heads(which I still own), off the shelf lunati cam .515/515 w/1.6 rockers, cobra lower, box upper, 70mm TB, 80lb Deka injectors, bone stock bottom end with extra ring gap. Ok, ok I left out the most important thing that made the difference. Even though there's much better now. Gen 6 DFI was the shit at the time and the reason the car made the power it. That and I was very good friends with a man named Nitrous Pete. I crewed for him when he ran in the NMCA. Anyone that is an old school fox guy should know that name. I learned a ton from that man and he's the reason I stopped racing Chevy for awhile and went Ford but I'll run either. It's not the manufacturer but the people behind the build.
Anyway good luck with the car. Never messed with anything that worked with the stock ECU. That then all the chips and shit were junk and a waste but there's a ton of potential if you can get past the limitations of the factory ECU. After gen 6 DFI I went to F.a.s.t, Big Stuff and Fueltech. So I don't know much about the stuff that works with the stock ECU. Again good luck with it

@@bigretardhalo yeah every time I see something like this it brings back so many amazing times. I also find it hilarious that many guys in their 20s think everyone that raced back then only used carbs or don't understand the new technology. Many of us got to see it progress through the years. We're the reason they have the technology they have today. We were fucking with traction control like 20 years ago with MSD. It's not new. Although many of the stuff is so much more user friendly. No question there. When I first learn how to tune from Pete is was through the Gen6 DFI which worked in DOS. It wasn't even a windows program lol..
Yeah Pete was one of the original Pro 5.0 guys. I've been very lucky to travel and learn from him. Then when he had to stop racing back in the late 90s for awhile because of a brain aneurysm. I got to learn from another great guy. Which is Anthony Disomma. I helped build his 04 cobra and actually owned his old championship NMCA super modified nitrous car. Although I had a turbo in it. Believe me, I know I've been very fortunate to be around and learn from some of the best that every did it. I could keep name dropping but I won't lol.. Take care bro.

You should be on the brink of 500 wheel. This is a 30 year old proven combo, H/C/I blower on a stock bottom end, 500 whp / 500tq is about all your going to get out of a stock bottom end before it comes un done. with a stock fuel system with a pump (255lph all you need) heads like those trickflow, trickflow stage one cam, cobra intake (ported lower), 60# injectors and 80mm MAF, i made just over 500 wheel @ 11lbs and shut it down....thats the most youll get out of that motor and that setup....you should be running much bigger injectors and matching MAF and youll squeeze 500 out of it safely...idk why your leaving 100 wheel on the table..
400 wheel is what you make with a explorer setup GT40 heads , basic cam and intake and a vortech @ 10lbs, thats 400 wheel, aluminum heads, a good cam, and a fuel pump and your 500 wheel. This has been done for 30 years, nothing special or amazingly unique we are talking about here.... this has been done literally thousands of times since the 90's

@@aaronliddell4280 what do you expect when they didn't tighten the blower belt 🤦🏻‍♂️
should crank down on it with a breaker bar/jack handle before each pull.
I bet that belt was smoked after that 🤦🏻‍♂️
Also surprised they didn't crank up the fuel pressure to compensate for the small injectors, they had enough pump to at least try it but it seems like they didn't really give two shits that day.

Once again same setup min the supercharger... I think I'm going turbocharged on my baby and you know I'm going 420 smoke one hehehe like I haven't seen the video 3 times already lol and that's a lot of pulls I would think the 🐎 power numbers would be somewhat low seeing a hot engine smh

was thinking the same thing, pointless upload all together -- no real results, didn't touch the car, didn't address the belt slip or attempt to turn up the fuel pressure to compensate for the maxed out injectors 🤷🏻‍♂️
