  • Countless studies show, people who eat more fruits and vegetables live long and prosper. They’re natural, full of anti-oxidants etc. etc. etc. Standard dietary advice encourages us to eat FIVE fruits and vegetables every day.
The eating fruit is relatively easy, but broccoli, cauliflower and kale…. Can be an acquired taste. So for many people, the 5 fruits and vegetables looks more like 5 fruits. Does it matter ?
    DEFINITELY.
Especially if you are metabolically challenged.
In this episode of BETTER BODY CHEMISTRY TV, we look at the evidence and discuss how you should think about getting your 5 fruits and vegetables for better health. It’s easier than you think, if you know how.

You may also note that animals like bears only have access to fruits in autumn (fall) when it causes them to put on weight which they need to get through winter. Humans have access to fruit year round and we don't need the fat. The 5 a day recommendations come from fruit and veg marketing, not from any health studies.

Amazing video, thank you. I tested this by eating a bowl of green spinach and a small serving of black (wild) rice before bed. No oils. I woke up and my blood sugars were below 100. Amazing results. I cut usually cut off my last meal early, but now I understand that my last meal should also be very low on the glycemic index, primarily green veggies and no refined grains.

thank you for another great video. can i ask, does your ‘rule of thirds’ refer to calories or grams? thanks. :)

Use grams to make the calculation.

I probably average five fruits/day but I also happen to be a high exerciser and generally find it challenging to keep my weight from dipping, so I don’t at all feel like fruits are bad for me, are they?

Please drop the childish language like "heffalumps" I doubt many children watch these videos.

Sorry it irritates you. My goal is to produce videos for people who are not quite as scientifically savey as you and don't necessarily feel comfortable with scientific terms. I think there is more than enough excellent content on the internet to meet the needs of people who speak the science/technical lingo. Appreciate you taking the time to look at my videos and leave a comment. PS. I also think, if you are struggling with weight issues, it is a little nicer to think of yourself as a heffa lump rather than someone who is OBESE. Obese just feels quite harsh.

@@Betterbodychemistry i don't have weight issue's. I think you give valuable info' but the childish heffalumps grates. I call a spade a spade and realise the obese are mainly following the government guidelines.
