Absolutely NTA. She needs to seriously face up to reality. If nothing else it’s important so that she can best plan for how she is able to optimally respond in an emergency situation.
People should accept the reality of how they react so they can change it if needed. Abandoning the child is ridiculous, I would have been super pissed. She needs to accept that she doesn’t react well in order to try to do it differently. Otherwise in a true emergency she will abandon their child again and who knows what can happen.
