That is true and my parents are from South America and before you say I only speak Spanish not write or read (well a little) also where me and my parents are living is in Australia but Australia does get boring because it's too calm but when I went to South America it was poor and dirty but it fun and crazy enough to keep me entertained also the reason I came there was to visit the rest of the family where they showed me around the place :D

If you come to Brazil, I recommend the Northeast for the beaches, Minas Gerais for history and culture, São Paulo and Rio for urban feel, Amazonas and Pantanal for adventure, the South of Brazil for an European feel.

Went to Mexico last summer (Tulum and Playa del Carmen), didn't have high expectations. My God. What a place. Even for being a touristic hotspot, it was incredible. The vibes, the food, the nature, the people, spanish language, the clubs, the bang for the buck, the landscape, the historical sites, the possibilities. Crazy. Amazing looking people too, girls and guys. Very open minded. Going to revisit this country as soon as I can.

I fell in love with Mexico City. On this 3 month trip, I visited Cancun, playa del Carmen, Cozumel for two weeks, mexico city for two weeks and my favorite Puerto Vallarta for two months. Mexico City is not what the US portrays it to be. Two weeks was not enough time, and despite heavy traffic as it's the 5th largest city in the world, there's so much to see and do like going on an African Safari ....unbelievable!!!

ECUADOR should be more than just honorable mention!!! Everything in one place, so close. You are always 2-3 hours away (by car) from a beach, the Andes, or tropical rainforest. And of course... Galapagos.

Dominican Republic has been THE fastest developing country of Latin America for 3 years in a row and the 4th most visited country south of the USA after Mexico, Argentina and Brazil so not only bring your swimsuit, but also come to explore and live Santo Domingo, Altos de Chavón, Santiago de los Caballeros, Concepción de La Vega, zip lines with monkeys at Puerto Plata or visiting El Corcovado in Loma Isabel de Torres. Hiking the highest point in the Caribbean (Pico Duarte) or going on a boat trip through the lowest point of the Caribbean (Enriquillo Lake). You should also bring a sweater to cover from the cold SNOW that falls sometimes during winter in Constanza or come prepared to swim with blue whales in Samaná.
The motto of the country is "Dominican Republic has it all" and we are certainly working our way to achieve that goal.

You could have at least put El Salvador in the Honorable mentions, there you can see the ruins of Joya de Cerén, the famous Puerto Le Libertad. there are some great beaches for surfing and let's not forget Pupusas y Horchata for the Traveling Foodies!!

Thank you for including Iquazu Falls, however La Garganta del Diablo is a part of those falls. This is my favorite place in the whole world. Well worth the trip to Argentina or Brazil if you go to the falls.
