I quit wearing eyeliner and mascara for years now because I couldn't make my own, then I kinda forgot about it. Now I can try it again. Let's see if hubby notices anything different haha!
I Quit , because after Katrina, I just didn’t care 🤷♀️, it took five years for me to wear eye liner and mascara again.
Wow I tried the mascara, amazing, my eyes loved it. It felt so light and nourishing. Your so smart Heidi. Keep the videos coming. I love them all, especially that you acknowledged God is good cause He sure is.
2024 and I just wrote down your recipe. I put on make up every day during lock down. Made me feel good. Working from home and still dressed every day too. ❤
Cleaning out a mascara pot is harder than it looks! I tried soap, alcohol, pipe cleaners, makeup remover etc. finally soaking in liquid/ warm coconut oil for a week followed by the soap and pipe cleaners worked.
Wow this was amazing thank you. At 67 everything bothers my eyes I will try this.
Actually my girls and i were looking for natural mascara since commercial ones contain mercury i heard. You are an inspiration to so many women! 💕
When my love was little and needed meds administered with a syringe, I would lose them from time to time, and I'd ask whatever pharmacy for another. They give them out, so that might be a good idea - a 10 ml and push it down with a chopstick?? Maybe?
I was laughing (giggling with joy, not mocking) at your creativity, and then you got to about min 15 and how important it is for you to be a blessing to others during such a terrible time - that's what I got out of it. You bless my heart, and I got teary-eyed.🥺❤
I add castor oil to my mascara too- Castor oil will help your eyelashes grow too! Great information as always :)
Thanks Sharon!
Hi Heidi, how did you know I love mascara! LOL! You always provide us with the best homemade recipes...for everything!! Thank you!! Love, Mary❤️🤗❤️
We gotta stay happy and pretty even in the midst of craziness! haha
Thank you! Excited about making this next week!
Yee Haw!!!
Now I can make my own mascara and eyeliner!!!
Actually, I have not used either as far back as I can remember.
It amazes me at the wisdom you have in your mind. I don't think there is anything you can't do yourself. You amaze me Heidi. And Pat, Mr. Rain also impresses me with his vast amount of knowledge too. I love watching you both. Yes, I watched this entire video, not because I will make my own mascara or eyeliner, but because I was curious how it's made.
God bless you two. I love ya both and your videos..
Haha! Well, you just never know when you may need that knowledge anyway :D Thanks Stan!
Yea! so happy to have this recipe! Thank you!!
What a timely video. I was just thinking about your mascara the other day. Thank you! 😃
Thank you Heidi and that’s right it keeps you motivated and happy
Thanks so much. I am so excited about trying this. Keep up the great work and many blessings to you.
I can't wait to try this! thank you
Thank you!!! I've been wanting to make my own.
You can use a sandwich bag fill bag.. push to one corner.. snip the point off with scissors and fill your tub.
Hi Heidi, thank you sharing your recipe. Now I can make my own mascara without additives and I avoid packaging. YT started to propose me to watch your old videos. Have a great week. 2024❤️🙏☀️
Ohhhhh I love this!!! Thank you!!!!
Awesome video! Thanks so much! God Bless!
Thanks for the video! Definitely want to try this❤
Fantastic! I have mascara recipes pinned on Pinterest, but have never been brave enough to try it. It is so nice to see that it has worked for you, AND I already have all of the ingredients on hand! No excuses now.
This is a great idea, I will give it a try! thanks
Lots of God's blessings your way Heidi! I heard once that during the great depression, the item most bought was lipstick, I say perfect, thank you!!
Wow. wow. wow . DIY mascara & eyeliner. Who knew ? ! I sure didn't !
What you said at the end.....YES ! Ron & I learned a long time ago that charcoal is something to ALWAYS have on hand. The two of us got the absolutely worst case of food poisoning ever back in 2006 on vacation. We didn't have any charcoal w/us & boy, did we suffer. Since then, we've made sure to have it on hand. When you have food poisoning, you sure don't feel like going out to find charcoal & the sooner you get it in you, the sooner you're going to feel better.
Hi Pat, can you please tell me what to do with activated charcoal if I get food poisioning? Thank you
@@Ponkelina Sure ! Hi ! Just get a bottle of charcoal capsules. They never go bad. If you suspect food poisoning, start taking the capsules. You take 6-10 w/a bunch of water at one time. Sometimes that's all it takes to get rid of food poisoning....other times, you might need a second dose. This is what our natural health doctor recommends.
Thank you 🙏🏽 I have hope now.
Love this video, new follower stay blessed and healthy! 🙏🏼😷
This is sooo cool!!!!🥰
Thanks for a wonderful video:) Blessings as always
Ok I got my answer by listening further! Cool video!!!
Amazing work! I am so happy that i finally found you and your videos!!! i was use for to long chemical products and they was destroy my skin and health. god bless you!
Thanks for the recipe. I have everything you mentioned. The jar I am not sure if I have it. Thank you. I have sensitive eyes and the health food store charges over $25 for an eyeliner. I can make my own thanks to you. Smarty...lol
Thanks, I tried to make mascara in the past (using other recipes) and it failed. I thought i might be allergic to the charcoal so I found some brown mineral powder that is cosmetic grade to use in place of the charcoal and will use it with your recipe. Thanks for all your hard work and sharing your solution!! I am confident your blend will be the perfect solution.
Brow recipe: I am sure your mascara would also work for brows.
My own brow recipe is as follows: For those with 'pale brow hairs' and very sensitive eyes/skin: I finally found that a mix of 50/50 beeswax and coconut oil as a base, then darken with the mineral powder, and add a tiny bit of castor oil to make it more spreadable. Just a tiny dot of the castor oil for each application. I apply with a slanted paintbrush saturating the brow hairs with a back and forth motion, then use Q-tip to remove any that may have gotten outside the desired line. It is the ONLY brow color method so far that doesn't make my eyes immediately swell up.
Thanks for sharing this video! Keep up the good work!
Stay safe!
Haha! So happy you made this video! All I need now is to get your generator to start making my own colloidal copper! It's in my cart🤭
I did the black, and it's good, but now I'm going to try cacao powder for brown.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Neat. I'm not a make up person, but if I were this would be something I tried.
Thanks for sharing. God bless!!
I love ur vids, and am watching more and more! I'm learning so.much about holistic remedies, etc. How would I make my own charcoal from the wood stove - simply crush it into a fine powder and use it? Any tips would be great, thanks and Keep Crushing! ✝️🐻
Thank you for this recipe. I was diagnosed with glaucoma and Im wondering if the eye makeup affects the condition. I was bad about removing the mascara at night. Now Im looking to preserve my eye health and finding alternatives to store bought mascara.
Love your videos god bless you ❤️❤️❤️
Muito obrigada meu anjo 💕
Omgosh I already have the ingredients!!! Yaay. Next project.
Thanks for sharing
Thank you for sharing!:)
Can you use any kind of colloidal cooper
Hi! Thanks for sharing this, it's brilliant to able to make our own mascara!
I want to ask you if you think that I could replace the copper liquid and charcoal with blueberry juice to make the mascara purple.
I thought about replacing just the charcoal with blueberry powder but it's not as fine as charcoal or clay powders so it might affects the smoothness of the mascara...
Hi, can I use colloidal silver instead of copper?
Heidi,
Next time you drive through a pharmacy, pick up a medication syringe...they’re much smaller😉.
Thank you for all the great recipes and for sharing your story!
Never in a pharmacy but that would be too small. That is why the big fat syringe does not work well, even it is too small. A pastry bag and fine frosting tip would work better
Thank you. Your skin looks amazing. I use an expensive cream that does a great job but I’m seriously considering trying yours ❤️
Where do you get the copper
Very Cool want to go natural on beauty products. Where do i get colloidal copper? Can we make it?
You can make it with the wright equipment: czcams.com/video/5vWDTGPGgkU/video.html
Well you just answered my question about bacteria... I have always wanted to make my own mascara. I didn’t cry at any of my kids weddings which really surprised me. I cried a lot before their weddings though.
I ended up not crying during the ceremony, I could do nothing but grin from ear to ear until my cheeks hurt! haha
I'm new to your posts and I love this!
Can I use colloidal silver instead of the copper....cause I don't have copper yet? I'll check my health food store to see if they have it.... I haven't worn eyeliner or mascara hardly ever for years because it makes my eyes itch! I'm so excited to try this natural approach and see if I can use it!!
I'm also making the tooth paste!
yes
Hi God is good all the time❤
Could you make a video about occupations that can be done from smaller cities? My field is found in major organization and in big cities. I've wanted to live in a smaller city since a while. With all that craziness around us, I definitely wanna move to a smaller town and be able to live in a house with a garden
We did do a video on escaping the rat race that might help a bit:
czcams.com/video/yqf_wDgKKeE/video.html
Wow, how cool is this? Do you happen to have a recommendation if you want to use some thing to make brown mascara? Thanks for this content it’s super cool.
Cocoa powder or even a blend of cocoa and charcoal to get the color desired
Cant wait to try this recipe! thank you so much. I want to know if i can use liquid bentonite clay instead? God bless you❤️
I noticed that you never received a reply. Did you try it anyway? If so, did it work?
This was great. I never thought of making my own mascara. Can I make my own colloidal copper?
You can but you need a generator to do that. Patrick makes them to sell and if interested you can email me at raincountryhometead@gmail.com and I will send you a product list or you can learn how to make your own generator in the video he made several years ago, just know that he shows two version so the you will want to go to the second one about 10 minutes into the video: czcams.com/video/i_Jyf-vLYAs/video.html
Thank you for this awesome tutorial! I’ve often thought about making my own mascara and this gives me the confidence to go ahead!
Can you use activated charcoal that comes in capsules?
Yes, you can, that is actually what I started with as I had those before I had purchased a couple of whole bags of it
Rain Country Thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly! And, truly, thank you for making this video and so many of the other videos you do! They are so helpful and confidence building 💖
Do have a link for colloidal silver or something similar to use in the mascara. All my herb shop down here carries is tiny bottles?
I make my own, I have only ever bought one bottle and that was about 8 years ago
What about using a Wooden Stick
Will you please list the ingredients and approximate amounts?
🎉can I use any kind of colloidal cooper
Not sure what you mean by "any kind" but if you mean store bought or homemade, yes, or you can use colloidal silver
Activated charcoal, saved my dogs life 👍🏻
I have all of these ingredients except for the Colloidal Copper. I do have Colloidal Silver. Is copper better? Should I buy that or is silver just as good?
You can use silver
Hello, can you use the colloidal silver in place of the colloidal copper completely? Thanks a bunch 😁
Yes, you can
Rain Country awesome! Thank you for sharing all your helpful wisdom 💖
I don't have the cooper stuff can I substitute something I can use alone I'm allergic to it
Use the aloe vera or the silver
my eyes and skin are very sensitive to essential oils and smells (Hashimotos autoimmune). What can I put in the mascara besides the EO's? Aloe Vera? more castor oil? Thank you Heidi for all you share with us! Merry Christmas!
Just leave out the essential oil and yes, for sure add more castor oil, I have since started adding more to my mascara than shown in the video and I like it better
what can i use in place of the colloidial copper ?
colloidal silver, or just plain water if you need to thin it. The copper or silver will help prevent bacterial growth but so do the essential oils if you choose to add them
Can you please tell me if diatomaceous earth would be OK instead of bentonite clay?? Thank you. I can get it, but have DE on hand.
No, they have a different make up, while the Diatomaceous Earth MAY work, I would not recommend using it around the eyes. Bentonite Clay is much better for this application
Heidi, what would you recommend for someone that looks better in a dark brown mascara/liner than black? I was thinking of cacao powder mixed with a tad of charcoal, but that might be too gloppy.
Yes cacao powder is a good option to mix
Heidi, which Castor oil do you recommend that can be used both internally and externally?
As long as it is organic and cold pressed it is safe. I think they are making it so all castor oil has to be marked as external use only, just another one of those things they are doing to scare people away from things that work
Sandwich bag cut small corner off or paper funnel.
Super thanks!! Can you use also kaolin clay instead of bentonite clay
Yes, I actually have found I prefer kaolin as it is not as harsh
What about Foundation and blush? Any tios?
Here is this recipe I came up with mostly for a face powder but you can add other natural colors to make a blush (such as beet root powder): czcams.com/video/CT8d_QHsXdE/video.html
Heidi, is the contest for the book still open? If so, I would love it.
Yes, please go check out that video as you can only enter by following the directions I noted therein
How do you make the Cordo Silverina, Cordo, Copper
Please see this: czcams.com/video/SlHU9xjlHXo/video.html
Can I use colloidal silver instead of copper?
yes
Lütfen lütfen alt yazı ekleyin öğrenmeyi çok istiyorum kendi dilime çevirmem için alt yazıya ihtiyacım var videodaki seyleri anlayamiyorum
Do you have a colloidal copper tutorial?
Yes, but I think in this one I used citric acid, I no longer do that but instead add that same amount of vinegar: czcams.com/video/5vWDTGPGgkU/video.html
Oh wonderful, thank you so much :)) I will make a note about the vinegar. @@RainCountryHomestead
What do you think about adding cocoa powder to make it brownish black?
I thought I had mentioned that but maybe I did not, this video is a few years old, but yes, of course
Hey, can I use colloidal silver instead of colloidal copper?? I just don't have any colloidal copper that's all.
yes
Can charcoal from your wood stove be used the same as activated charcoal?
It can but I believe, if I remember correctly, that it needs to be hard wood only and there is another step that needs to be taken to make it "activated"
Heidi I like my eye liner in a dark brown is that possible? I wondered about using cocoa but the color has too much red in it.
Yes, mix cocoa by itself then add a bit of charcoal to get the darkness you want
Great idea thanks!
Can I do distilled water instead of the copper?
yes
What can I use instead of essential oils? I'm afraid my eyes are too sensitive to lavender, etc. Thanks!
Just leave it out
Would red clay work in place of bentonite
Yes, I am sure it would, my last batch I used kaolin clay
They have NEVER USED MASCARA. !
WW HAVE TO PUMP IT !
Your a Godsend ! Thank You for your videos. Learning how to make my own make - up !
I am a Lipstick/ Mascara "Freak"
Eyeliner when my Arthritis "let's"me !
STAY SAFE,HEALTHY,HAPPY, POSITIVE,. EVERYONE !
I Love Your Videos !
I do wear mascara but wear the black/ brown mix, black is to harsh for my light complexion( blonde hair with added silver highlights) Is there a suggestion to tone down the black?
Cocoa powder
@@RainCountryHomestead Thank you, I'm going to try it. :)
That was my question too.
How do you take it off?
With whatever you normally use to wash your face. I use homemade soap and water or Dr. Jacobs Castille soap, depending on if I am washing my face at the sink or in the shower
Could you tell me what brand the castor oil is that you are using in this video? Thanks so much!
amzn.to/3qArONY
@@RainCountryHomestead Thank you!
Can I use collide silver instead of collide copper?
yep
I would like to use something brown and not black. Any recommendation on that?
Easy, cacao powder
Thank you so kindly and God bless you.@@RainCountryHomestead
I have an allergy to copper, would it work if I omit the copper?
Yes, leave it out or use colloidal silver instead. You an also increase the amount of castor oil to double what I used here for even better results
How do you get it into the tube?
Go to 10:38 - that is where I talk about several different ways
Hi Heidi, can I just use colloidal Silver in place of colloidal copper?
Also could you recommend which colloidal copper to get. Thank you!
Yes, you can use colloidal silver instead. I make my own colloidal copper and silver so I cannot recommend any brand or type
Thank you very much Heidi!
Love your video!
Can you add vit E oil as a preservative ?
If you want
