  • There are many recipes on the web and this is a combination of many. It’s taken months but I’m very happy with this one. Beauty on a budget and free of harsh chemicals and my eyes love it.
    YOU WILL NEED:
    - 1 tsp coconut oil: amzn.to/2c50vWr
    - 1 tsp beeswax: amzn.to/2c79zN9
    - 1 tsp aloe vera: amzn.to/2c50rpB
    - 1/8 tsp castor oil: amzn.to/2bXRvjg
    - ¼ tsp black mineral powder: amzn.to/2bXSkZq
    - 1/8 tsp bentonite clay: amzn.to/2c0TyUn
    - 6 drops lavender essential oil: amzn.to/2c50L8C
    - Empty mascara tube: amzn.to/2cAmuaX
    - Double boiler: amzn.to/2bXSrnU
    - Icing bag: amzn.to/2c0U8Bg
    METHOD
Into a double boiler and small glass jar, add and then melt coconut oil and beeswax.
Add aloe vera and castor oil.
Add bentonite clay, black mineral powder and lavender oil.
Mix to combine well. Place into an icing bag and insert into mascara tube.
Coconut oil is nourishing and provides smooth texture. Beeswax achieve correct thickness and well as waterproofing. Castor oil/lavender helps lashes grow. Aloe vera gel stops it becoming chalky. Black oxide colouring. Bentonite clay, helps it to dry and harden and stops smudging.

So far the best blend I have seen on CZcams. I also recommend not adding essential oil’s until you removed the blend from the heat, because high heat will destroy your central oil’s. However, I probably would avoid essential oil’s all together as you don’t want that into your eyeballs....

If you add a few drops of rosemary essential oil, you will have your natural preservative and can stretch this for longer. Doubly so if you also add a carrier oil high in vitamin E, or a capsule of vitamin E oil itself. Personally, I prefer a high-antioxidant, dry carrier oil such as rosehip, because it minimizes smearing throughout the day. One other tip: for brown mascara, or black-brown, use raw cacao powder.

Hello. You will be pleased not to be here in 'locked-up-lock-down' Auckland! Actually it's not that bad and thankfully Spring almost arrived yesterday. Yes yes yes, I will do more skincare and makeup. It's ridiculous the price and tbh isn't that hard to make. Although mine don't have long shelf life, I find it a fun activity once a month. Before this current lock-down, a gathering of friends and a 🍷 with the girls was an equally fun time. Keep safe Astar

Essential oils should be used with caution when applying near the eye area. Most are not safe for use around the eyes, and will cause redness, stinging, and even swelling. Make sure the label on the bottle says it is 'SAFE FOR EYES'. Many essentials oils are not cold-pressed and not "100% pure", so there are preservatives and other "fragrances" added and this can cause problems when used around the eyes. BE CAREFUL!!!

Do not put lavender oil near your eyes-it will melt and get inside you eye and that is not good. The video is all over the place and very hard to follow. It needs to be more organized with less irrelevant talking. OY!
