  • @gregpenetrante5734

    Many high end PPF installers recommend removal of the trim before applying xpel and applying the ppf while the front bumper is removed from the Model 3/Y for more consistent results.

    • @LockettTech
      @LockettTech  Před 3 lety +1

      Menard uses all machine cut pieces with dimensions sent to them by Xpel directly. They are exact and therefore do not need to take the additional risk of removing the side camera's, trim, and bumper which honestly I would prefer as well. They did remove the cars emblem though.

    I'm in limbo on PPF. My father owns a auto repair/paint business and he absolutely hates the stuff. But it's mainly b/c of it being a pain to remove when he has to repair something. My thought on it is "when I go to sell, if I remove this to expose what should be pristine paint, will I have retained value in the car to pay at least a large portion of the cost of ppf"?

    Call me weird, even though I just picked up a new ‘21 3P back on 17 April, I don’t plan on doing anything for paint protection. I’ve washed it twice so far and we’re supposed to get about 5 inches of snow Monday night here in Colorado. I just know not to follow too close to cars after the snow clears because of the gravel and rocks the cars kick up. If something happens, oh well is my mindset. I find it much easier not to worry about it and I’m saving money for other performance mods instead. I’d rather invest in a better brembo brake set up than the stock brembo it comes with. Kinda disappointed in the stock brakes to be honest.

Yes, I just bought an Expensive Tesla which I am planning on keeping for the rest of my life which I am 74 years old right now. If I drive safely at distances from vehicles and not get close to some vehicle that i know throws allot of debris from the roads, I should hopefully do ok.
