I'll have mine hopefully this year and also chose black. I'll have to prepare myself for these washing issues. Gonna raw dog it because I don't think the finances will be available for sometime for ppf. Your MY is nice. Thanks for the video.
Beautiful work on your car. Just got my MY last month, the standard white color. Would love to get the PPF. I can’t afford it yet, just got accessories and will be tinting the side windows this week. Great video!
Really enjoy your videos and your positive enthusiasm. My comment about the music on your ceramic coating video was that it detracted from the content. Otherwise, great job. Keep it up
Hey buddy, Only 1 year on that ceramic seems pretty low, I just had my Y done last week and my model 3 4 years ago. It was an Xpel ceramic and they give a 3-year warrantee on there's. I will say My model 3 held strong, I did do the windows the first time around I would say don't do that they did hold very long. I'm in LA my self and got my Y done for $950 FYI
I'm seeing the same thing RE: scratches. This Tesla paint is SOFT. I got the deep blue metallic and it's so easy to see imperfections on the dark colors. I'm going to PPF the front bumper and ceramic coat the rest so it's easier to wash without damage. Did you get the Tesla mud flaps and shark fin PPF for the rear rocker panels? Highly recommend. Your ride is looking FLY, man.
Its soooo soft. Oh thats thats an awesome color. I do have mud flaps but didn't get the shark fin ppf cause its always been sold out. Hopefully i can vinyl wrap my car in the next month or so. I appreciate the comment
Hi there. Your car is stunning. I just ordered a model y. I really wanted black but was scared of scratches. So I’m opting to go to grey. Does the ceramic coating really prevent scratches and swirls? And what’s the price point for the ceramic coating? You mentioned a wrap was $2500? What’s diff between wrap and coating? Thank you so much for sharing.
Hey MaryAnne. So i will say it does help prevent light scratches here and there. The ceramic coat basically repels water, bird droppings and slight scratches because it makes the surface nice and smooth. A PPF wrap (Paint Protection Film) basically is like a screen protector for your car. It's completely wrapped in a material that won't scratch and completely protects the paint because it's literally a layer of film above the paint. Im looking into a vinyl wrap which does protect the car from scratching, but acts as a customizable feature because you can get whatever color you'd like. Its not as protective as a PPF, but it does guard your actual car paint while giving you the flexibility to change color
can you share where you took your car for he ceramic coating, and how much did it cost you? I am watching all those tesla videos while waiting for the delivery on Model Y LR. I am also interested to get the PPF for the front part as well.
OFCOURSE. So i got it done from James at Doc Auto Spa. He runs a small business in the SOCAL area. He was running a promotion to do a 1 year entry level ceramic coat and detail for $300. Turned out great. You can take it to an actual shop, and the coat will last a lot longer, but you're looking at 1K+ to get that done. I'd just recommend wrapping it
Thanks for the note Rob, Didn't realize until I got into editing the the mic was not plugged all the way in. Rookie mistake, but i hop you enjoyed the video otherwise!!
Looks great! Just took delivery last week and had the ceramic coating done on Wednesday. Huge difference!
Ayeee congratulations.

Yea that's how I was feeling too, I'm going to vinyl wrap it very soon. PPF is crazy expensive
Ceramic coating makes the paint look great. Gives it that “wet” paint look. Like a freshly waxed car but last longer and better protection
Exactly!!

Are your headlights PPF’d with smoked tint or clear? I’m deciding leaving it clear or partially loosing a bit of brightness
Yes ppf'd with smoked.

Also a PPF could cost anywhere from 5K-8K, depending on who does it. A vinyl wrap can cost anywhere from 2500-3500, at least here in California

@@TessiVybz I plan to do wrap on PPF too. Any place you have already received quotes from?
Should have done a before and after
True
I know a store where they sell good steering wheel for you tesla!!
Window tint %?
czcams.com/video/LMbjKAR4O8g/video.html
Here is a whole video dedicated to it. 50% Windshield, 20% Fronts
wetness 🔥
Righttt!!!!
Definitely don’t want to do ceramic coating if you plan on a wrap or PPF
Rather be protected in the mean time just in case i don't get it wrapped
audio is kinda peaking and way to high compared to normal youtube videos just a fyi

Cut the background music. Too repetitive
Thanks for watching Rich
