This week we drop off our brand new 2022 Model X with AP3, one of the nations top detailers and XPEL dealer of the year in 2019, 2020 and 2021, AP3 in the Atlanta area.
With the help of AP3, we vinyl/color change our Model X in the Battleship Gray color, then Xpel stealth wrap over the vinyl to provide an additional layer of protection. Every trim of the vehicle is then wrapped for protection and the windshield and all windows are tinted with a 5 layer nanoceramic tint in the Xpel XR Plus film to provide heat and UV rejection. The car and its interior and exterior are then ceramic coated for ease of maintenance and cleaning. The cost for this all-encompassing service is a little over $10,000. In an upcoming episode we'll breakdown what you need to know about wrapping your vehicle and how to maintain it.

I usually don’t like dull paint because it looks dirty and worn out to me, but because you covered the vinyl in PPF and a ceramic coating, it’s going to look just as good 10 years from now and it has some shine to it. This was a an excellent choice and is perfectly executed - happy for you! :-) I feel you guys have great experts in wrapping in the U.S. - over here in Austria it's a bit trial & error when looking for a specialist. Also I don't see people combining wraps with protection etc. Thanks for sharing Kim.
Wow - you are a Lucky Girl! I have PPF on front of my MY that came out great. I just did a DIY Ceramic Coating that came out great and makes cleaning so amazing. You got it all and will absolutely love it!

I just had my Model Y PPF'd in Dynoshield and they didn't even take the window frames or wheel trims off so there's a 2cm gap in protection everywhere. Your place did it perfect! I'm so jealous.

Beautiful😍 I wanted to do a vinyl color change on my MYLR but I just went with the Full front PPF along with Ceramic coating for the rest of the car I love a glossy wet look so I stayed away from vinyl but your final look is 🔥 Has me considering for sure

This is awesome. I paid almost 9K for similar work in Texas (Full PPF, Interior and Exterior Ceramic coating, Full tint (minus the vinyl) and it does not look anywhere this good. I have multiple spots with visible dirt trapped underneath both the tint as well as the PPF. I have multiple edges lifted with dirt now trapped after only a few weeks. Is this normal? How do I correct them?
For 9k you have the shop correct it for you. Unacceptable.
That´s a application mistake from the shop and they should redo those panels. 90% of PPF and vinyl color change perfect and correct install is cleaning. The surface must be spotless. There´s no reason for dirt underneath tint and PPF, someone jumped a process in instalation... BTW, I would love to work with those prices overhere...🤑🤑

Fender Skirts: I know this has nothing to do with this specific video, but I thought you would appreciate the topic. If making the door handles flush makes a big difference to aerodynamic drag, fender skirts over the rear wheels would make a massive improvement. Is anyone making a solution like this for Tesla's? It might be worth talking to your sponsors, if no one is....
It's just crazy expensive. You don't need to take a car apart to vinyl wrap it but especially PPF, it can be put on in a few hours yet they charge several thousand... soapy water and isopropyl, quite easy to do on your own especially with precut. btw Tesla should factory offer PPF.
How much did this all cost? We want to do something similar for our model x

We seriously considered PPF for our red 2018 M3 LR but the price was just too high. For our white 2021 MY LR, vinyl (to change the color) and PPF would be great, but again, the price is just too high. Your MX turned out great, though, you guys.

I love the look, but at $10k I wouldn't pay the money. I didn't do any PPF or wrap on my 2021 Model 3. I hand wash it, it has 39k miles and yes, it is a daily driver with rock chips and dings. I did pay $800 for expel tint on all the glass surfaces except the windshield to keep the sun out.
Looks amazing!! Want to do the same thing to my model y. I have a Question about why you decided to put the wrap first then the PPF on top. What if you wanted to change the color. Wouldn’t you have to redo the PPF.
Is there some coating you can put on the plastic to protect it from drivethrough carwashes... Or something you can put on the plastic to spruce it up again?
Did I see them tint the roof? I was told this would void the warranty it the glass cracked.

Amazing journey. I have been waiting three years for my Cybertruck. Anymore delays and I may have to go for the Model Y or Model X, which ever has the shortest delivery time.

How dark are your windows?
Actually 10k for this kind of quality work isn’t bad. It cost me 6k just to get a full body PPF and ceramic tint.
I love the wrapping and PPF, and that was my original plan with my 2022 Plaid, but unfortunately these cars are presenting a lot of manufacturing problems. I'm glad i didn't do it because i had to return the car. be on the lookout for falcon wing door, third row AC, blinkers, autopilot, sound system, drivetrain problems

Yea. Excessive in my opinion. Way to expensive. Might make sense for an X or S that you plan to keep. But for a y or 3 that’s 25% the cost of the vehicle. So much for saving $$ switching to an EV……
That tint really does look dark, how does it affect your vision especially at night and overcast days is it a little to dark inside
Doesn’t impact vision whatsoever on the inside, don’t even notice any difference once inside.

It doesn’t, they’re cut out around them.
I recalled the falcon wing door’s sensors are very sensitive. Thick material on the door my hinder sensing. I can understand wrap need to have cut out for ultrasonic sensors in the bumpers.

There’s so many white Teslas because pearl white is the very best color for Tesla. Like Ferrari Red, the Tesla Pearl White is legendary. This gray just looks low end and trashy. But to each their own.

It became my favorite feature quickly, would be hard to go back to a round wheel after a few days with yoke. I honestly really like the stalkless experience too so I think it’s a matter of trying it before you’re convinced that’s it’s a more enjoyable experience overall. But…there’s always round steering wheels from Tsportline you can purchase.
