I'm team zigzag over a cord for gathering, however recently I did it and unfortunately the seam allowance was only 1cm so I struggled to get the cord out lol. I haven't made this pattern before but it's definitely one I'd like to try out and I'd definitely lengthen it! Fliss and Caroline are great aren't they 😀 xx

Great dress and fabric. Have you ever used a gathering foot on your sewing machine? Also you can gather on an overlocker with a gatheting foot, although I've never tried the overlocker myself. The cording method looks way better that the 2 rows of cotton as there's always too many threads
I'm a lazy sewer and use the gathering foot on my overlocker lovely vlog I have that fabric in khaki but I'm not a dress person so not decided what to make yet.

Lovely vlog, great pattern and fabric matching. I zigzag over dental floss to gather, and find really easy.

Thank you for the vlog. What would happen if you left in the elastic after attaching the skirt and bodice?
If you left the elastic in it would leave the seam very bulky.
