The House of the Dragon season 1 finale sees Vhagar, Prince Aemond's dragon, eat Lucerys (Elliot Grihault) mid-flight. The final shot of the show's debut season is of Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy) as she exhibits the fury and pain that the loss of her son has caused. With the battle lines now clearly drawn, this sets up an even more action-packed season 2 as two factions battle for what they believe to be rightful claims to the Iron Throne.
As reflected in House of the Dragon season 2's dual trailers, the central conflict of the show has now boiled down to the Greens versus the Blacks. Alicent (Olivia Cooke) and King Aegon Targaryen (Tom Glynn-Carney) lead the Greens, with Prince Aemond also belonging to this faction. As the events of season 1 and the latest image attest, Ser Criston, the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, is also firmly on the side of the Greens, as is Rhys Ifans' Otto Hightower.

They have ties to the great empire of dawn who’m the valyrians are descendants of. They have existed for thousands of years before valyrians and have remained even after the fall of the targaryens.

Looks like all spectacle without much heart or soul. Some of the best scenes (arguably the best) were just quiet conversations amongst the characters, great character development. I actually cared about them. I don't really care about anyone in this show, but I guess the dragons and fire look cool. I'm excited to see some Starks (which will probably just be presented as a novelty)

Those out there who like to read and love high fantasy should read the "Elric of Melnibone" series. Daemon Targaryan HAD to have been inspired by him.
There armor is identical.

Both are roguish renegades and "black sheep" among their own.
Both have magic swords
He was very popular in the 1960s-1980s. I don't know why a series about him never came to be. Cost, probably. But they are brilliant books. Every bit as good as SoIAF!

Just 8 episodes wow all good TV shows are way too short nowadays. It’s quite sickening.
Not enough episodes to justify the two year wait. Six months maximum. Also I hate that they never know if they are going to renew for another season til like a year after the last episode of the season ends. And if they don't renew we never get a proper series finale. That's pretty rude and unprofessional of them to do that to their loyal fans. They do all this BS because they can. There isn't many rules that TV shows have to follow.
What's there to talk about? That sounds rather normal for productions like this. Planning takes much longer than actually filming.

Viserys,Rhaenyra,Aegon II were the 3 Targaryens most responsible for toppling the Targaryen dynasty. Did more damage to their family and the chances of maintaining the throne than Aerys,Robert B, Eddard Stark and Tywin could have ever accomplished. I know how this ends but really neither team really won.
