      @@vaulthunterfromterra4053 to clarify what was said before in response to you:
      masked heroes are basically one-monster fusions. the manga makes this a little bit clearer, referring to them as 'transformation summons'.
      the core thing you need to remember is that if you want to summon a Masked HERO, you will need to be using a monster of the same attribute as material. presumably, what's going wrong here is you use using destiny or vision hero cards, all of which are DARK monsters, and thusly can only summon DARK masked heroes.
      if you don't have any LIGHT HERO monsters to use, mask change II lets you summon using any monster as a material! but you still need the correct attribute, it needs to be a lower level than the Masked HERO, and you will need to discard a card to activate it. as Xyz monsters don't have levels, you can't use those using Change II either.
      if you can already summon the level 8 Anki, and you want to summon Koga, but don't want to run ANY light monsters, then what you can do instead is use form change, which basically lets you tag out a masked hero for another one of the same level. luckily for you, koga's ALSO level 8, and Anki can search it via its effect.

      M. Greenfield, I got the hand of it after the other guy replied to me. I swapped out some cards that I had at 3 copies (I now have them at 2) and I have a couple copies of Neos Alius. Thank you for the thing about Form change, I didn’t know about that what I did know about was the level vs rank thing, found out the hard way while using a synchro deck in a ranked match. One more thing, can it be any Light monster (I use level 4 beat sticks), or does it also have to be a “HERO” too? If yes (mandatory HERO status) then I don’t change anything, if no then I’ll have to get ahold of Mekk Knight Avram...I hope the material doesn’t also need to be Warrior as well.

    One I learned recently was that Tour Guide only negates the effect of the LVL 3 monster it summons, not the activation. So you can, say, use her to special summon Lilith, Lady of Lament. And if you have Lair of Darkness out, you can still activate Lilith and tribute your opponent's monster as cost, but you can't grab a trap afterwards as per Lilith's effect.

    • @Laflamme78

    I played Dark World when I was doing tournaments. And let me tell you something, it is amazing that a fairly popular deck has so many cards in it that are constantly being misread. The number of players times I have had to call a judge over to have them tell my opponent that yes, my monsters do get an effect if they are discarded from my hand by my own effects is staggering. Yes there are like 1 or 2 of them that have to be discarded by the opponent to do anything, but most of them get the effect and get a buff if its discarded by an opponents effect. Idk Snoww was the one most often questioned. Idk if it was because my opponent really didn't understand the effect or they just wanted to hold up the game to retaliate against me discarding Snoww to search Snoww so I can discard Snoww to search Snoww, then discard Snoww to search something like Grapha. I did have a player at 1 point complain and question a judge just on me doing that and not whether I get the effects. I know it may be annoying, but if I didn't do plays like that to thin the deck and load the grave, the late game suffered hard and I often had to do that play to dig for my traps as there wasn't very much in terms of interaction in Dark World for your opponents plays. I also had to call judge on other Dark World players for missunderstanding what types of discarding would trigger their effects. So many times I have seen players trying to use cards like Karma Cut to get their effects. Heck, now that I think of it they would even misunderstand how cards that force my opponent to make me discard work. Ceruli and Rigorous Reaver were a couple of the main cards I used for that and players thought that because I owned the card it meant that I controlled the card. Like they even questioned Dark Deal and it literally says it changes the effect of their spell to make me discard

    My favorite card that I completely misunderstood is the card "Snoww, Unlight of Dark World". When I first read the card, I thought, you get both effects (searching and summoning), only when your opponent makes you discard the card. However, you actually get the search effect, when you discard it by your own effect! I was really surprised to be able to search, when I tried it out in a video game. I thought it must be a bug. But the thing is, that there is very important meaning in all the punctuation (colon, comma, semicolon, comma, period). To realise what part of the sentence refers to what other part is not so trivial. Most other Dark World cards make it more obvious, when you get which effect.
    Snoww, Unlight of Dark World
    If this card is discarded to the Graveyard by a card effect: If it was discarded from your hand to your Graveyard by an opponent's card effect, you can target 1 monster in your opponent's Graveyard; add 1 "Dark World" card from your Deck to your hand, then Special Summon that target (if any) in face-up Defense Position.

    • @saitougin7210
      @saitougin7210 Před 2 lety

      @@Ragnarok540 There is also at least one other Dark World card with a similar structure of the card effect with the same issues of clarity. Basicly Snoww's effect is build up like the following:
      1st part: general condition KOLON
      2nd part: more specific condition KOMMA
      3rd part: targetting (needed for the summoning effect) SEMIKOLON
      4th part: search effect KOMMA
      5th part: summoning effect (if targetting happend) PERIOD
      One could think, that both conditions applay to anything after them, but the 2nd condition only refers to the 3rd part and not to any further part. This very crucial information is hidden in the punctuation, which one is supposed to know after getting familar with the whole Problem Solving Card Text concept-thing.

    Penalty game could be a hilarious option for infernoble vs side deck cards like lightning storm as aqua dolphin + smoke grenade forces them to have 4 cards a lot of the time. This may not be very practical because with this combo you would already know their hand except for the one that they draw. However, the card that they draw could be that blowout card and their hand could be full of spell/traps or reliant on them.
    Final Verdict: Side deck at best

    The only deck I know that can consistently make use of Penalty Game! is Mermails as you only need to resolve 1 Moulinglacia to make Penalty Game! Live. Also, theoretically Warrior could do that as well by looping 2 cards with Smoke Grenade, but for that to work your whole combo has to go through.
    Edit: Slight correction regarding Guardragons; They don't check to where they point to but if there is a zone where 2 or more link monsters point to. If they leave the field, but there is still a zone where 2 link monsters point to, you can still fully resolve their effects.

    Penalty Game should change the wording then, because if you have 5 or more cards in your hand then, you also have 4, it would be different if it said that their hand size is 4 or that they have exactly 4 cards, because exactly 4 in this context would mean the number of cards in had is 4, but having 4 cards in hand is different than having hand consisting of 4 cards.

    I have a good contender for a card that no one understands because the card text is confusing. Cyber Eternal. Which says you can special summon a cyber dragon fusion monster from your graveyard ignoring its summoning conditions, or return it to the extra deck.
    Nowhere does it say on the card that you can only special summon from the graveyard if the fusion card had been properly fusion summoned first. If you special summoned it to the field with Cybernetic Revolution, and then it got destroyed, or if you sent it to the graveyard straight from the extra deck, Cyber Eternal does not allow you to special summon the monster, you can ONLY return it to the extra deck.
    I hate that card. I hate that the text on the card just lies to you.

    • @Dzeeff
      @Dzeeff  Před 2 měsíci

      Yeah there's a lot of cards like this and it can be annoying. The reason it's not written on the card is because it's actually a game mechanic that applies across the board: extra ddck monsters must be properly summoned first to be able to revivie them. You can't revive a monster sent to the graveyard with gale dogra, for example. Hope this helps clear it up a little!
