It does not get more jersey than a guy comparing two of his Porsches while being “interrupted” by his buddy’s Porsches. Ahha I love it. Thanks for the video.
Hahaha
What exactly is Jersey about that?
@@yungrichnbroke5199 in Jersey there’s plenty of Porsche and BMWs driving around..it’s very common to see them.
@@pv4083 that’s….not just a Jersey thing. And it’s certainly not the first thing I think about when I think about Jersey.
@@yungrichnbroke5199 ok bro. I was just answering your question. All good.
Great video! Thank you sir!
I’m showing this to my wife. She doesn’t believe we can fit our 2 children(both in booster seats) in a 911.
Wife drives an SUV.
For myself… I’m looking for an everyday driver that will keep putting a smile on my face going to/from the office, but also able to haul our kids … the 911 just seems - perfect.
Let me know if you need help convincing :)
Czesc...! Agree with a lot of what you said on the Cayman. I just bought a 981 Cayman GT4 to complement my F80 M3... What a sense of occasion to drive, I thought the F80 was good, this is next level! Downshifts with the auto rev match in the 5k+ rpm range are spine tingling!
My main reason with going with a 981s cayman over 991 ag the time was the side air vents . Loved the the look of the cayman . If I wanted side vents on the 911 I would’ve had to go with a turbo ..
Or an RS!
100% i lovge my 981 Cayman S, upgrade to a turbo flat 6 ? im not sure
I sold my 2013 911 and bought both a 2017 Macan S AND a 2013 Boxster S. Cobb tuned and Put a KW coilover on the Macan and it's really fast and slammed now. Just love the rawness of the boxster. No Brainer for me, 2 is definitely better than 1. Carrera T is a pretty damn good choice also well done love the channel 👊
Thanks for the love. Nice fleet you’ve got!
Great video! Great enthusiasm!! You seem very natural and genuine in front of the camera.
Thank you for watching and for the kind words!
Cayman all day long. Mid engine GTS 4.0 is a legend
Agreed
AWESOME! I was waiting for that video.
991.2 it is!! :)
Great video! I own a 981 Boxter and it's my daily driver. It lacks the power (and price) of the 911, but it's the highlight of my day every time I get to drive it.
It is indeed a great car!
The fit and finish in a gts and gt4 is on par with the 911. If you compare a base carrera you see the same fit and finish. I had the option of 911 vs cayman. I decided in the cayman because it’s more sport car than the 911 which is more GT.
But 911 feels more special
Great review, well presented. Good job.
Thanks for watching!
I'm on my 2nd 987 3.4L really like it. In the future, I might upgrade to 981S as i never get this fun driving experience from 718 either 2 litre or 2.5 litre S model.
I would never do the 718 4 cyl
Very cool comparison. I didn’t know so many things were similar. I drove my friends 2021 718 GTS last weekend and I was impressed. Contacted my local dealer and they have a brand new Python Green GT4 coming in. What to do!?!?
Gt4 all the way!
Great comparison! Thank you. I enjoy my 981, flirting with upgrading to a 911 one day….
981 is terrific !
The 992 911 is when the 911 was more distinct than the Cayman. Prior 911 generations have much more in common with Caymans.
That’s true ! Which is your pick ?
Could be anything? MR2? Fiero? Nice insult to the Cayman at 12:20. Also in my experience, my 2016 981 Cayman has the exact same fit and finish as a 911.1 of the same generation. Your 991.2 is a next step up I think.
Hehe I still love the Cayman
May consider to turn 981 to track car..
Only if it was PDK
Dreams and now collection. Good for you my friend.
Thank you!!
Great video! But I have to say, I don't think anyone would mistake a Cayman with a Fiero or MR2.
Hehe fine
Cool video 👍🏿
Hey!!! Thanks.
Great video! May i ask what kind of Graco baby seat you have in the rear? Seems to fit nicely!- Thank you
This should help

991.1 n /a almost best of both, cool & sounds 👍 great..
But I prefer the driving dynamics of a 991.2 that’s why I got one
Nice comparison. What Soul Exhaust do you have on the 981 Cayman S?
The valved one.
nice summary ... personally, I. love the complexity of the Carrera T sound - its louder without the back seats :)
Time to remove the seats then!! Hehe
Could be a Fiero! HA HA HA! I was laughing so hard.
Haha
I’m in Jersey too, where’d you get your Soul exhaust done on your 981? What did you pay?
I did it myself in my garage
I've been watching your channel for a while and just now I find out that you are also Polish 👍Fajnie wiedziec ze jestes Polakiem
Dziękuje!!!!! Siemanko rodaku!
What type of camera setup are you using for your in cabin videos?
Just a simple GoPro.
Hey man, great comparison. You mentioned living in Poland before, where in Poland are your from? I was lucky enough to spend last summer in Poznan, such a beautiful place. With excellent public transport.
Hey!! I’m from the south close to Rzeszow
Czesc. I had 997.2, an M2 and a cayman. Currently drive 991.2 C4 so I can enjoy it year round in Alberta. 911 is simply an icon. Doesn’t matter which model, it is the shape and rear engine configuration that make it one of a kind. 911 in sports car World is what the G Wagon is amongst SUVs.
Well put !
@@TommyLGarage Cayenne GTS V8 or G Wagon to pair with my 991.2 base?😊
Great cars. On a different note, I would have never guessed that you were from Poland.
I get that a lot! It’s my dark hair
@@TommyLGarage That too, but neither your accent sounds very Slavic.
Yeah I thought you were persian😅
Interesting comparison - with no surprise. I think the test revealed that both cars have their strong points. Yes, the Cayman cannot reach the prestige level nor the driving characteristics of the 911. Contrary, some people will happily give this up for having a supreme mid-engine driving experience that actually saves you quite a bit of money. The real question is, are you a value buyer or a prestige buyer? To each, Porsche delivers the right car.
This is an excellent conclusion which is why I’m not a car journalist. Really nicely summarized! Thanks Uwe!
@@TommyLGarage Thank you. I always wanted a 911. Likewise I have chosen to be a value buyer in everything, whether it is for a stock or for selecting the generic orange juice brand at the grocery store. Hence I settled for the 981 Cayman GTS. No regrets. However, if at some point in my life, monetary priorities are no longer in place, I would certainly get the 911. If you ask a 5 years old boy about driving a Porsche, I doubt they will say "Cayman" first.......
@uweheinrich6784 exact same here... Porsche know what they are doing with the 911 pricing haha bastards.
Not one “holy moley”! So many missed opportunities… great overview as always!
Holy Miley Cirus!
We used to go to a great Polish restaurant in Clark, NJ. Don't know if it's still there.
There are a few. I used to live close to Clark
Don't forget to do a stage 1 tune and and you will be amazed what it does to your 911! The smile on your face will be brighter! 😜
I’m trying to resist temptation
Best video on CZcams
Haha thanks
I really don't think the front-rear mass distribution on a Cayman is 50-50. But is certainly more-balanced than a lot of other cars.
But it is also not as fun to kick the tail out in the Cayman. It’s more snappy
45-55 t oe exact
Your dream came true!
Living the American dream!
Just took delivery in October of a 2023 Cayman 718 GtS 4.0 and after driving it for a 1000 miles I can't imagine any car, well maybe a GT3, that can handle and sound like this certain to become a classic Porsche sport car the true Porsche sport car, sorry the 2 back seats for toddlers only does not cut it. Your Cayman sounds fantstic and maybe your selling the wrong car.
Congratulations!!!
911 is the right car for me today since I use the back seats a lot

Dziękuje Wojtek!
I have a 981 and have 991/991.2 envy every time I see one :(
See! That’s what I was talking about :)
You say a cayman can be mistaken for a Fiero or an MR2 are you on drugs?
I’m high on life man!
Since I don't need to feel cool it's cooler to drive my Cayman!
Cayman is amazing !
@@TommyLGarage ...I second that, Tommy!
I have a 991.2 s no had a 997s, I’m debating going back to 997.2 bc I enjoy the sound and rawest much more. What are your going to change in exhaust?
I just did headers. Doing sport cats then that’s it
My wife prefers the 981 look. 911 is too common and more expensive.
Funny my wife felt the same
@@TommyLGaragethe rear of 911 looks better than Cayman for me…. by miles😄
Which do you like better on track?
Haven’t tracked the 911 yet but prefer it regardless
Did you sell it yet? Might wanna buy.

$160k for the T if you’re interested :)
What is the point of the measuring tape and "baby" term? The smaller and lighter the car, the better it is.
So a gokart is the best daily driver ?

She gave it to me. Didn’t have to steal it.
911s are not better built than current Caymans/Boxsters (981.1 / 982.2 or 718 if you like) - forget that. You are comparing different gens on your video which is wrong as for obvious reasons assembly / spec (you need to spec match both cars...) / fit&finish keeps going up. What defines both cars is simply one thing: engine placement and the very reason why Caymans/Boxsters are superior for handling dynamics which is what matters here (you can't compare cars with different engines...but you can compare a Cayman 981 3.4 with a 991 3.4 and the Cayman is a superior car - easy to see for the ones with the knowledge, experience and insight): better placement of masses and a longer wheel base that a 991 can only dream of. All sports cars in Le Mans GTE Pro and GTE Am (with one exception: Aston Martin) have mid engined cars and that is even the case with the current racing 911 (which currently is basically a Cayman with a 911 shell...): further vindication is not needed. Yes 911s are superior to Caymans / Boxsters in one thing: to carry babies at the back...(you pay the price by having much less concealed - note - luggage space and therefore touring for two the Boxster/Cayman are here also superior... ) and eventually if you like to drift as 911s are naturally unbalanced vehicles and thus easier to unsettle which makes drifting it easier
The wheelbases are the same. I prefer the 911 for its interior space and the 991.2 motor
Siema Tomek, which part of Poland are you from? At least our ugly jersey plates look good on the 911🤣
Haha true !

I like my 911 TRD pro hybrid max
Boxster could be an MR 2 ? Are you serious 🧐. Please drive an older 911 and compare with 981 . That’s both more Porsche feeling than a 992
I drove an older Porsche. Didn’t like it.
I would buy a cayman over the 911.
How come?
What hoodie is that?
North Face
911 is more an rich guys show off. 981 is more the true sports car. My 981 is black too. Its the color. A red 981 even turns my head
I wouldn’t say it’s a show off. For me it was critical to have rear seats
@@TommyLGarage 99.9% of 911s on the road have nobody in the back seats. 😎👍
@@drunvert I carry my kids
@@TommyLGarage I know. I watched your video. 👍
I don't know why I watched this video since I've never owned a Porsche and never will own one, but I just want to say, that to someone not familiar with Porsches, well, we don't even know there *is* such a thing as a Cayman, and we don't give the 911 more attention, because we think Caymans we see on the street *are* 911s.
You made a very good point I never thought of. And it makes me feel very shallow.
Nice video and beautiful cars. What does your wife drive?
Thanks! She drives a Tesla model y performance
Biggest difference is 911 have back seats! Yes, my kids use them everyday!
Agreed. And same here!
The 981 does NOT have a perfect 50/50 weight balance. It's close at around 45/55 front to rear but it is not 50/50. In fact the only cars with a 50/50 weight balance are some front engined cars (various BMW's, for example), though most are front heavy.
I prefer the balance of the 911
3:57 that smoke don’t look so good
Car was cold
The heck! I thought you sold the Cayman?
Already sold
The Cayman is a better value. 90% of the parts are the same. Is the 911 you have a newer model year? If so it is an unfair comparison.
Cayman is indeed an amazing value proposition
Sold?
Yes
Brought to you byPorsche North America.
Yes !
I thought you sold your Cayman?
Sold. Video was filmed a day before I sold it
Cayman and 911 are now built on the same assembly line and basically the same platform.
Both amazing cars :)
NJ with no front plates!!!!!!!
YOLO!
Both seem to have same ground clearaNCE, TOO LOW!
Nope. Perfect!
So, many months later… putting aside the prestige factor… would you say as a sports car, that the cayman was the superior car over 911? (Driving feel)?
Nope. Prefer the 911. More controlled at the limit. Cayman was too snappy
I had a deposit on a 911, drove the Boxster and bought it instead. A lot of 911 owners like you, put the Cayman/Boxer down. Mid engine is better, almost all high end super cars are mid engine, the Corvette went to mid engine. The 911 is a cash cow for Porsche and you pay the price.
Just a suggestion for exhaust, I think the Kline headers sound fantastic on this car! Here's a video comparing the Kline setup vs just the Akrapovic slip on, and a stock 991.2 GTS. czcams.com/video/5TKK61Z74qc/video.html
Thanks! Yes I saw those but ended up going with SOUL.
The main issue with the 911 is the engine placement. If you get a 911, you must get an AWD model, otherwise the car simply is not safe to drive.
This is absolutely not true
After decades of evolution, Porsche has engineered most of the rear-engine bias out of the 911.
It’s called a baby Porsche because it is not as fast and powerful as the carrera normally.
has nothing to do with the size of the car …..
You’re right
Before I have Cayman, it was very hard for me to identify it with a 911 from far. Unless the 911 is from 80s.
The colour??? Gets attention??? 🤬
It does!
I miss the BMW M3.
I don’t :)
One looks gorgeous. And the other … 🤦♂️
Which one?
718 Cayman is even better in all ways.
Nope!
The 718 is only good if you buy the GTS or the GT4.
turbo cars are good for folks who live at altitude.

No shit Sherlock, the front assembly of the two cars is exactly the SAME. Everything underneath the skin from the rear edge of the doors forward is the same structure. On a 911, you have a rear engine and a mid transmission. On a Cayman you have a mid engine and a rear transmission; That means that the engine and transmission have simply been moved 180 degrees.
This makes an ENORMOUS difference in the handling! The Cayman is the sports car of the pair, designed for track use. It puts to shame the underdeveloped C8 Corvette and the silly Toyota Supra, with it's 500 pound BMW engine sitting on top of the front axle. The 911 is given more horsepower because it is heavier but also, it is Porsche's....
"Cash Cow"
And there are a lot of old geezers who want to buy these Cash Cows, but are too old to ever push them to their limits. The current 911 has turned into what the 928 was back in the day, a fast car for travel. But it has also sadly morphed into a "luxury car" or "status symbol". Porsche the company has this blood on their hands; They produced the comical "911 50 year version", which involved 1963 special edition 991's with a set of bullshit features and an inflated price tag that together give a big middle finger to what Porsche is all about.
-I saw one of these road-going offences to taste at a Cars&Coffee in Fort Lauderdale in January and I was more interested in seeing what sort of putz would own such a thing. And of course it was an old Geezer and his bleached blonde equally old wife. What was surprising is that the wife was about the same age; Normally people who buy shit like this car have trophy wives decades younger....
Bad taste is not just confined to '70's American cars....
Thanks Whatson!

By the way, the character in Arthur Conan Doyle's "Sherlock Holmes" books was "Watson", not "Whatson".....

Not really. cayman is indeed amazing
So, basically even though he admits the 718 does almost everything better (sound, shifting, cockpit interior feel), he ends the video saying he's keeping the 911 solely because it made him feel envious each time he saw one on the road? How much lack of self confidence do you need to say something like that?
