Without context it just looks like Trevor is learning numbers
Thank you for making this video THAT MUCH funnier for me.
Color blind it just looks like nothing tbh
I literally cant see the numbers he has trouble on
why did that make me laugh so hard
lot dolor because that’s how comedy works
Trevor: I don't see it!
*Traces it perfectly*
Trevor: What the hell is it??
OH MY GOSH It's MATT!!!
I think his problem with those was he could only *kinda* see it, and so he was doubting that some of what he saw was real (vs imagined) and also doubted that he was seeing everything there was to see, so between the two he's not confident in his tracing being correct, and is worried that 5-esque shape is actually a 6 or 8 and he's missing stuff.
He did mention that colors fade in and out and he was guessing a lot
keep in mind he does know the shapes of 1-9, so he may have been tracing out a number he thought it could be to compare and contrast with what he was seeing to make sure he got it right.
I'm colorblind kinda like Trevor. What I see might be clusters of differently colored dots but they don't appear to form a cohesive pattern. So it's there but it's so faint that it could easily be a 5/9, or a 6/8. 1 and 7 can also look similar in those tests. It can be really confusing for colorblind individuals.
I used to feel bad when people gave Matt shit and I still kind of do but if he gets mad at Trevor for something Trevor has no control over then Matt can get bipped.

*Barbara hanging from cliff*
Michael: You have to get the number right to save her
Trevor: What number is a V?
*Barbara starts sweating*
@@Ryvaken No it's the Roman equivalent of the letter U.
@@Ryvaken V would have been pronounced like a "w" im pretty sure, thinking back to an argument about vini vidi vice the "c" being pronounced as a "k" :) apologise if im mistaken
@@alexmartinez5859 @Ryvaken Roman Numerals are explicitly letters used as numbers. I = 1, V = 5, X = 10, L = 50, C = 100, D = 500, M = 1000. And yes, V worked like W and stood in for U, and the C was always a hard C (sounds like K) in the Roman Latin; I think the further from Rome you went, the more flexible the rules on pronunciation
Michael* Shows a 3
Trevor: Is it a backwards 5
Barbra would say 5 for the pun
I actually love how Michael was normalizing it for Trevor while the other two were just laughing lol
Matt getting mad because he doesn't understand colorblindness is hilarious
the irony of a guy who has glasses questioning a guy who can't see color properly is hilarious too XD
Matt's freaking out because someone's doing tests to figure out what's wrong with them, since we all know how scared he is of going to a doctor to figure out what's causing that 14 year long cough he's had now.
Is there an opposite enchroma glasses that simulates colorblindness? So they can have Matt try it out.
Mr. Quil I imagine the cheapest way to develop this is with a software-based video filter, a head mounted camera, and FPV drone goggles. Idk how much processing it takes to convert a signal in real-time so it might need to be connected to a PC using VR goggles or something, which they already have lying around.
@@2nd-place there's quite a few free apps that show what being colour blind looks like through your camera?

As someone who is also mildly colourblind, I appreciate that Michael is so supportive through the tests, it really does suck when people are constantly asking if you can see a colour and/or are shocked and almost angry that you can't see what they're seeing.
I'm am a superior human!
Its not your fault if your born that way.
I have the same problem as trevor. I am a strong deutan. The amount of people I have come across that find it difficult to understand how I can not see a colour the same way as them even after I explain that colours a formed by the light hitting the cones in your eyes, therefore it cane be different from person to person, shocks me.
@@mikecooper2566 Explaining color to someone is one of those things that's pretty much impossible though since there's no way to know if people even see color the same way to begin with.
As someone with Tritanopia, with no history of colorblindness in my family, the only people who find it difficult to believe are my relatives and friends I've grown up with all my life.
I feel like I'm the one who has the most difficulty understanding that I see color differently than others, doesn't help that I was 26 when I found out, my life is a lie.
Did the glasses on the screen let you see red?
the man who works for achievement hunter, which has a very green logo on usually a black background and by extension roosterteeth, which has a very red logo, has red-green colorblindness

"That's the spectrum where blind people can see" - Michael Jones 2019
Honestly, it seems like Michael has a slight red deficiency. I personally think I’m lacking a little on green. It’s not like we cant see or distinguish them, just in those tests, it becomes more obvious certain colors mix.
@@ElyskeTheDonut Not all guys can see every color either, for me as a woman I was able to make out everything pretty easily (though a couple were made to trick your eyes)
Colourblind-ness is also significantly more common in men, and men aren't usually expected to discern colours in the kind of fine detail. Makes me wonder if the two correlated.
Cup of Sleuth yea a big that i think got researched was that women may see more shades than men do, being able to distinguish multiple shades over men.

Trevor, remember you're wearing sunglasses. Perhaps with regular Enchroma glasses you might be able to discern colors even better. Also, everything I've heard suggests that the longer you wear the glasses, the better your brain figures colors out. I'd be curious to see a follow up video. Good luck!

Michael is actually so cool like he’s sitting there fending off Alfredo and Matt making comments like “really????” And michael just goes “he’s COLORBLIND” 🤣🤣🤣🤣 like supportive dad
Smart of them to bring Alfredo in as the 'control' Trevor in this experiment
Considering that clip from Gmod where Alfredo thought he was Red gold when he was brown golf, maybe not.
I mean the ones that Michael couldn't see were more difficult than the others, and I just find it fascinating that AH is actually doing something educational, even Michael found out he has a tiny bit of colourblindness.
Im not color blind at all but some of the last ones where hard to see
The hard ones to see are made like that, you could not be colourblind at all.
@@DJW321 The one at 18:06 I can barely make out a slight tinge, yet none of the others I had an issue with, so it's possible it's just very slight colour blindness.

I have the same colour blindness as trevor and to a seemingly slightly more extreme level and the office just seems like normal yk colourful and all and different to what u see with maybe less contrast but still colourful and that's our normal so it doesnt feel like we are missing out on anything.

It’s like a movie where Trevor’s pulling red string between two pictures, trying to find the common link, but the two pictures are just of the number and the word ‘three’ and he just can’t make the connection
I think Michael sympathizes so well bc of how poor his vision is
“Stoplights are easy. Red blue and green.” When is there a blue on a stoplight Trevor?
That traffic light just wanted to be different, so it opted for some RGB
also he did say red yellow and green
Some lights actually have blue instead of green. Especially in other countries.
@@L3monSqueezy
also, traffic lights glow in certain sequence.
Top = Red
Middle = Yellow/Blue
Bottom = Green
so color-blind people can distinguish between them(i think)
Either I’m colorblind, or the lights near my house are weird. Cause the green looks teal. The yellow looks orange. The red looks pink
i don't think trevor is colorblind, he just cant see 5s or 3s. no science can fix that.

This along with hearing, walking, the ability to see at all, the ability to speak, and I'm not sure but I think there might even be people who have an impaired sense of touch...I mean why not? I didn't even think a person could have no sense of smell until I heard about John Risinger.
Well, some people (myself and my mom included) have a high pain tolerance, why can't there be an extreme form of that in which the person in question has either little or no sense of touch or pain?
@@EchthelionII I certainly wouldn't dismiss the idea.
It's hardly a pressing issue lol

When in doubt choose "C"
3:53 I think I remember something about camouflage not working for colourblind people
I guess this is one of those cases
PackuMira The reason is because camouflage can’t perfectly match the shades of its surroundings, but the pattern can blend in. This is why it’s effective for normal people, because we look for patterns. Colorblind people have a heightened ability to spot the difference in shading, so the difference in color stands out a little more than it does for normal people
Color blindness is actually an evolutionary benefit. That's why men are predominantly color blind. In the early days, they were mostly hunters and needed to be able to see through the camouflage of animals to hunt them. Women were the gatherers and needed to see the color of the berries and plants to determine ripeness or other factors.
@@marilynsparks5931
While I won't say it isn't a benefit or anything.
I can say it is a defect. A defect that honestly doesn't matter in the ancient world. It has it's benefits and it's disadvantages.
Mostly disadvantages. A lot of berries are red, blue, and darker shades.
Hunting may have an advantage. Gathering defentently has its massive disadvantages.
So no, it wasn't evolutionary, It is a defect
I'm so happy that Alfredo can see colors again

I’m mad the joke went over most of the other replies heads
Now it's even easier telling them apart, one lacking every kind of colour and the other one having it in spades!
Matt's frustration with not being able to understand how color blind works is amazing.
This was just some weird way of making me take a colorblind test.
Trevor saying "I'm walking around with an Instagram filter on" is the FUNNIEST thing to me
I am also colorblind, and honestly, the worst part of being colorblind is trying to explain it to nonColorblind people, and constantly being asked "what color is this?"
Edit: that second test was pretty brutally hard.
That was weird to me, because the second one was insanly easy to me. It was weird to see the harder one as easier and the easier as harder
It’s just people with normal vision being curious. I’m sure people who became blind at some point in there life are often asked what color they see.
I could not agree any more tbh. I know they’re curious, but it still gets tiring.
Also gets me when people don’t understand there are different types of colorblindness and think I see just black and white. I’ve had people tell me, “you shouldn’t be driving if you’re colorblind”, and I have to explain to them that I can still see colors.
@@xxCrazyEights88xx I'm sure it gets exhausting but its kind of an oddity honestly. If you inform people that you don't wanna talk about I think most would be okay not talking about it.
Haha that's funny you say that because as someone who isn't colorblind, the second one was way easier! The colors were so much more bright and varied. The first test was mostly gray and harder to distinguish for me.
This is the most relatable video they've posted. I feel ya Trevor. My friends alienate and ask me how I just can't see things like they do. I appreciate this video so much.
If you’re friends alienate you, you should drop them. You deserve better friends.
0:52 I like how you have the option to choose which colour you want your colour blind glasses frames to be 😂😂
3:54 “That’s a clear 4” wtf?!?! Anybody else not seeing it?!
Did NOT see that one..
It’s not technically there, which is why everyone else reacts the way they do in that moment.
edit: Apparently (checking other comments) there’s a point where color-blind people can see differences in shading enough to differentiate camouflage from designated surroundings more easily than non-color-blind people. _However_ , from what I can tell there’s genuinely at best a smudge there he’s interpreting as a 4 (given there’s no visible difference in Trevor’s approximation).
@@alecLogan It took some time for me but I can actually see the 4, there's a very slight difference between the colors but I can tell that the 4 is green

Edit: mat stop messing with him that second test Had no numbers.
It's so wild hearing people who don't have colorblindness try and say, "THAT'S NOT HOW EYEBALLS WORK!!!!" Well, yeah, not for you. That's kind of the point.
Idk, I've known three people personally who had colorblindness, two were family members, and I know lots of people who have trouble processing color (has nothing to do with the eyes and everything to do with the brain in those cases), and they all describe how they can see certain colors, but when they're all mixed together, it can fade or blend into shades of beige, brown, or gray. For some reason these guys find that unfeasible??? Idk it's wild to me that people still have wild misconceptions of what colorblindness entails.
Read elsewhere that it was Matt specifically disbelieving Trevor because it hadn’t come up previously in a significant capacity.
"I'm walking around with an Instagram filter on" LMAOOOOOOOOO!!!!
MFW the two images on the left and right look very similar for some of them... when Michael said how the colour is bold and I thought "erm no... that's mostly all grey" i did the test myself. Turns out I have Mild Deutan. as an artist... I think I should get myself some colour correction glasses. (Enchroma, please sponsor AH)
tb h i think there are a lot more artists with forms of colorblindness than you might think! Unless you're looking for perfect photorealism I don't think you need to look for a way to compensate, honestly, and it might even give your art its own individual color flavor.
