    Hi everyone!
I wanted to explain why I have filmed Kate Ceberano's concert the way it appears in the videos of each of her live tracks.
To put into context, for those that have been to the Hamer Hall, Melbourne, it often showcases live gigs accompanied by an orchestra like tonight with the MSO: Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
The clientele that frequent Hamer Hall, are usually of an older generation, generally speaking, people born in the 1940's onwards.
Again, generally speaking and what I have observed of only the handful of times I have attended gigs at the Hamer Hall; it's consistent that the majority of the audience not matter what age, don't use their phones continuously throughout a performance.
At minimum, someone maybe checking the time on screen or taking a single photo (not video)
So when in Rome...however as I was seated at the end of a row where to my left was a wall, and the row of seats have a curvature design to them, and also being 3rd row from the back; I chose to film discreetly with the screen lighting as low as I could set it (low enough to be able to see the screen occasionally to try and ensure the gig was in frame)
I also held the phone below my neckline and away from the person seated to my right and had it in that lowered elevation so the folks immediately behind me wouldn't get the low glare of screen light.
Also I didn't want any of the ushers to point their flashlights at me to signal to turn off my phone - I've heard this is a common practice at Hamer Hall, but usually only when the artist performing has stipulated certain rules to be enforced during their performance.
So with all these auditorium and audience level of tolerance and following the rules, I didn't want it to be obvious that I was filming each track.
Although the seats in Stalls section were on the floor and the floor had a slight gradient to it, it wasn't enough to dodge the heads of the folks seated in front of me.
In tonight's show, with the MSO behind Kate Ceberano, there was limited space leftover for where she could move and stand or sit.
So unfortunately at many a times, you either will not be able to see Kate at all, or she was obscured by the back of audience members' heads.
If I held my phone ever so slightly higher, the folks behind may complain to an usher or an usher may see the low glow of light from my phone and ask me to stop filming.
Only when Kate encouraged the audience to stand or when the audience naturally chose to stand at appropriate moments, did I take full opportunity to also stand and therefore have a much more elevated line of sight to the stage and towards Kate.
At times when I've zoomed in, I've lost track of where she was!
That was a long-winded explanation, but I wanted to include this blurb with every track uploaded, in case you watched my footage and wondered why it appeared obscured each time, in terms of trying to film and focus in (discreetly and fly under the radar or gaze of the ushers) on Kate throughout the evening's performance.
Thanks for your understanding and for those that also enjoy filming a live show for posterity; you'll understand the constraints I was under during my attendance.
    Enjoy! 😊
