@@51-FS I didn't know they had o-ring tub spout version! the rubber gasket i replace on my tub spout looks like washer with a thicker border. thanks for sharing. :D
Oh gawd, you missed the opportunity to caulk that hole between the pipe and tiles. If the joint between the spigot and pipe leaks, it can leak through the wall even if there is a drain back hole in the new spigot, especially if the new spigot didn't get sealed against the wall.
My current tubspout is non standard and it seems like its longer than usual. Will I have an issue if I purchase a replacement like the one in the video. @Mechanicallyincleyend
mine has a steady drip drip drip and looks like it has never been replaced. it doesnt affect my water bill but the aptment sucks at repairs. fine il do it myself
Not a big fan of these. I always go with threading the tub spout on a male adapter. Companies are trying to make stuff where the homeowner can accomplish these task. Like with sharkbites. There is a reason why you need to be licensed to do plumbing.
So mine definitely has a set screw, it’s just not facing the hole 😭 Even if I turn the spout, the stuff inside just turns along with it, so I can’t unscrew it.
@@gnomegard4735 how? It's a chemical reaction between metals. Not bodily fluids. If you want gross look inside a fridge's ice maker or filter. That's straight up gross. Also, you swim in lakes and pools right? Think about it.

“You’ll know when it’s firmly inserted.” Story of my life.
"fully inserted."
“ It hurts “ 😂🤣 everybody watching this knows that if he hadn’t said that there would be many casualties with a bad knee. Live and learn
Ok this is actually soo helpful! My family and I just moved into a very old house and couldn’t find out the problem
After u apply silicone spray it with windex then wipe off excess. Will be a perfect joint every time
Just replace the 50 cent rubber washer on the tub spout instead of replacing it all. I find it way easier.
It's a O ring

All the ones I have worked on was a ring. But everything it different in other areas
A Sandwich bag, rubber band, and some CLR also works. 😎
The amount of innuendos is actually impressive 😅
Thank you so much! Capital letters everywhere! Thank you thank you thank you

That does not get caulked for a reason.
@@toomanymarys7355 What's the reason?
@@waterheaterservicesThere is no reason. It's just carelessness & laziness.
“…it hurts” I feel that
What do you lubricate the copper with?
If u was a plumber u would know about the washer that can be replaced with out having to take spout off
Thank you
How do I find the other video?
Make sure you twist the copper inside the wall too. Not everyone can do it. Also it's not super simple a good amount of the time.
"u will know when u got it fully inserted"
This can also solve issues if your shower head isn't receiving water
Thank you 🙏
I installed a new tub spout and a new carthidge and the water will not divert to the shower head
Does America only have one type of spout? 😅
I wish I could get rid of my old culk for a newer one 😭🤨
What brand of turn handle is that? It's wild.
Does the water main need to be turned off?

Now you know who's dirty minded and who are here that actually have a dripping problem 😂
Do I need to turn off the main water line
This works if you can find the parts.

I dont like the energy we created in the studio today
So basically my water is just gonna keep spreading out until I get replacement roll my water bills gon to go up real fast
But seriosuly thank you
So you don't need threads on the end of pipe??? 🤔

Cut the bottom of the spout
@@Foryourinformation218what can I use to cut it? I think I might have to do that too
Mine was a solid unit, I had to access the unit by cutting a hole in the wall behind it and replace as a whole.
I still cant unscrew the faucet!
Replace the O ring
brand new: STILL FUCKING LEAKS
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Terrible caulking job
Did he just call silicone caulking? 🤨
Dear God don't use your finger for the silicone caulk, it makes it super thin and less resilient. Apply it properly first time
