  • This video is a step by step instruction on how to replace a bathtub drain.
    If your tub begins to drain slowly or stops draining completely, it has probably become blocked by something. If chemicals don’t help, you will need to remove the drain and unblock it yourself. And you might need to remove the old drain to replace it with a new one.
    Of course, you can call in a professional plumber, like us at Maple Ridge Plumber to do it for you. However, removing a drain is a rather simple task, and you might be able to DIY.
    That is why we complied a video for you, showing you exactly how it is done in a step by step tutorial!
    Removing a bathtub drain not a hard task, but if you need any help, contact us anytime at: www.MapleRidgePlumber.com

    I bought that tool from Amazon 8 bucks, it did not work, cross bars were gone. I tried different tools and decided to get an easy out from Amazon, black friday deal was 14 dollars for set of 8, the biggest one is for drains. With a little work I was able to get the old one out, followed your instructions with the putty and tool you used, perfect. Thank you for the video. Now to tackle the two delta shower valves. I will do that during plumbers hours in case I have a major problem. As it stands now, I have about 130.00 invested in all three jobs. I still will have the tools I bought, I will let the neighbors know I have the tools if they ever need them.

    • @Calihan
      @Calihan Před rokem +1

      @@nakkohmt8978 There already is a washer under the tub. That one stays in place, it doesn't get removed. The only reason you'd mess with that is if it was leaking. He was just replacing the drain in the video, there was no leak.

    Tried to use the barbell removal tool for the replacement on my drain and had to look for a drain key-type tool instead. Wound up getting a Tub Drain Extractor to take the old drain out. As far as presentation - this was a great video for showing the process of replacing a drain. I had to look up additional help for replacing an older, corroded drain. Perhaps a 2.0 to include some variables you'll run into? Thanks for the video Maple Ridge Plumber!
