@@floppydoppy5382 I believe you do you want to know why I believe you its because apparently it has been said that Bumblebee will speak in the Movie his Character mythology will be changed. In Transformers The Last Knight it has been revealed that Bumblebee has been on Earth since World War 2. The protoform is actually stated in the comic book for the first movie to be the base mode they are "born" with, then they scan another vehicle to gain a disguise. They can then get rid of it and revert back to a protoform if needed.
I saw the movie early with a pre-screening and it was so good! It definitely plays on nostalgia almost glaringly so, but it’s worth it. Heartwarming story, great designs, and I actually felt connected to the characters because it was a smaller cast. 10/10 would recommend lol
@@nate9030 In the end, look at the bayformers. You can't even call them transformers anymore. G1 design is the original design. Look at Devastator for example, you have to admit it, I'm serious.
The designs were a damn mess in the first three movies. They moved away from the mecha anime designs of g1 trying to be too artsy and ended up throwing to many extrenous cogs gears spikes and flappy bits which made them look like a bunch of broken cutlery.
I really hope they make continuity a priority from this movie and moving forward. I feel like the previous lack of care for continuity was a product of Bay's preference towards what looks "cool" rather than what makes sense from a narrative stand point... As this is a prequel, I hope it retcons the whole movie-verse into one solid cohesive story; even if it means ignoring events from previous films.
I've said it once, and I'll say it again: can't wait until we get to 90's nostalgia and everyone starts losing their s/// over how great Beast Wars was. Still, I feel bad for people 30 or 50 years down the line, since what the heck are THEY going to be nostalgic for? Second hand nostalgia from OUR nostalgia for the 80's? That kinda sucks...
...as long as we neve see a (Scholastics)"Transmorphers" Transformers movie... It was also 'a thing' in the 90s. The books were kinda' like reading a "Goosebumps" novel, but the toys were horrible!
Man I love Beast Wars. Optimus Primal and Dinobot are my favorite transformers and Beast Wars Megatron was my favorite Megatron. I'd love to see a live action Beast Wars if done right. (Perhaps a return to the beast era could do Transformers some good.)
I honestly just can't see this going any other way than a reboot. The 5th movie messed up the continuity so bad on it's own as well as was just a very dysfunctional movie overall, it just doesn't feel like this Bumblebee should be anywhere near that timeline. Especially since it's such a perfect fresh start. I know there has been a lot of speculation over if it's a reboot or not, since it does contain elements from the Bay films, as well as people working on the movie stating it's a prequel, but other sources saying if it does well they will either full on reboot it or just have a softcore reboot. It's most probable that the studio just wants this to be a seen as a prequel just in case it doesn't do well and confirm it as a new Universe if it does well. Either way at this point it would make more sense both financially, and continuity wise for this to be a reboot. I think if it had a bit more space in years from the release of the Last Knight, more audiences would be able to discern this as it's own thing rather than the same timeline, but at the same time Transformers fans really needed some sort of reassurance after the Last Knight atrocity.
Yes, but there was a difference. The creators of TFP created a model for a jet and a car Vehicon with intention for it to be a Cope and paste character. And they at least put some effort into recolouring the designs and making more of them. But with Bayformers they usually just took a background character that had one sentence in the previous movies and used him.
@@keilafleischbein59 hehe yeah. But also the Vehicons were just that. Drones ment to be killed in mass. Heck Prime would be perfect for a Dynasty Warriors Transformers game with them. But yeah with the Bayformers i couldn't get to excited for any new characters cause i figured they would kick the bucket in the movie. The only hype i felt for TLK and AOE was the Dinobots. And MBay basically slapped me in the face.
There not using the protoforms because there proto forms are what the transformerslook like when they shed there armor and car parts to travel through space
I really loved Bay's Protoform's and interpretation of Cybertron, but I can understand the points raised here. Can't wait to see how the sequel's (if we get any) to this prequel gradually work their way up to the 2007 live action introduction. Only disagreement is Blitzwing. Liked his design, but like many others, I initially thought it was Starscream. Hope to see him come back as a tripolar triple changer with an additional tank alt mode. Good vid overall my dude.
G1 works because it’s what the transformers are not that they have to be 100% but at least having the decency to be recognizable and unique to other robots in media and I love these designs that are not copy and paste like bayformers and this has to be a reboot

While these designs are Recognisable, they lack complexity, and being realistic. They are WAY to cartoony! Which defeats the WHOLE purpose of LIVE ACTION!
Spider-Man Forever! How though live action can be anything the transformers design were made for the cartoon still lots of transformers media sticks to at least basing them on these type of designs making every character unique ,easy to differentiate ,and accurate to who their supposed to be its like darth Vader’s design and if they tried to make it more modern and with lots of moving peices it doesn’t work because it wasn’t intended for the character
This is the first transformers movie I will watch in the cinema since the 2nd one. If they go back to the transformers from the Micheal Bay again they can kiss my money good bye.
According to a visual dictionary type of book I read a few years ago, the protoforms are basically their skeletons, and the transformers would have to shed their armor (their vehicle mode kibble) in order to transform into their meteor mode. Megatron already had a vehicle mode that was capable of space travel, so he didn’t have to shed his exoskeleton. Shockwave and Soundwave could have trans-scanned a Cybertronian tank/satellite respectively before coming to Earth. Just my theory. Hope ya like it.
Bay's designs are too intricate and confusing that it blinded my eyes. Travis Knight going back to the original G1 looks of the characters brought back my faith in the movies.
If you think about it the protoform design turns to an asteroid/metor. As we can see bumblebee leave cybortron in a ship. I bet I am look to deep into this but whatever.
Considering "Starscream" is actually Blitzwing imma just go ahead and go along with that Shockwave not really being Shockwave because the real DOTM Shockwave is Frozen in Russia and looks far more beast.
@Comodin Cam Hey man hows it going? Just wanted to throw my 2 cents 1st off CYBERTRON in ROTF was shown and it was all organic, remember? The new designs boil down to Hasbro having more say and to taking the core brand into live action & redesign the 'designs' but most likely keeping the plot the same. Possibly its a complete reboot in mind, but still set up to stay on course if needed. Great job bro! 😎
0:56 the Bayverse protoforms make actual sense to me. They haven't scanned anything yet, so they wouldn't have any actual colors, details and car/jet/animal/etc parts on their chests and bodies.
1:01 I like the Bay look, but also the G1 look (what we get in 'Bumblebee'), though I also think that it's time to let all of the G1 and BW stuff go and march into the future w/ new designs for preexisting chars.
If I gotta be honest I think they're trying too hard to win people back with this move. I know they're trying to give us something different for the movie franchise lately but it feels like they're just trading in one form of stagnation with only a different brand which is rehashing G1 for the 50th time. The G1 nostalgia train has been going on for 12 years now and I'm worried Hasbro's going too far with it. Not to mention that there are ways of making generic looking robots and places that don't involve being black and grey all over. Just ask G1. Again it just feels like they're trading in one extreme for another as opposed to finding a middle ground.
I like the G1 aesthetic, and this is not a direct clone. They are merely capturing the character silhouettes and personalities, while updating the visuals as well. None of these cybertronians look exactly like their G1 counterparts when you examine the details, but the way all the parts are arranged is true to the character, unlike the Bayverse shrapnel heaps. I dont think its possible for a transformers movie to try too hard to win back their audience. Bay ran that ship into the ground, and its going to take every last scrap of effort to fix it.
@@keilafleischbein59 i agree. I think they are also adding some IDW elements to the builds as well. But yeah Optimus LOOKS like someone resembling Optimus. When i see this new version i think Optimus Prime! When i saw the Bayformers version i was wondering who it was until i heard that iconic voice. As for trying to hard hell they need to as does Disney with the Star Wars movies. Both Transformers and Star Wars need to bust their asses to win back the fan love they wasted.
If there was one thing I appreciated about the FIRST Tranformers movie, it definitely was the design of the original Autobot/Decepticon roster, excluding Megatron. It was very creative while also paying homage to the G1 characters. And even if they didn't look nothing like their G1 counterparts, they at least gave them distinct personalities. After Dark of the Moon, then they just became generic robots again.
It's really a balance between G1 and modern that's the key to success. If it's too G1, it might come off as cheap looking. Like they just put in the toys and that's it. Too bayverse, and it's an overcomplicated design that may not registered in people's minds. Bumblebee is a perfect balance. It's simple enough to remember but complex and unique enough to draw attention. The movie-verse face of Bumblebee in my opinion is far more cuter and expressive than the original G1 face. I recommend watching Transformers Prime to get an idea of what I want for the future.
If it wasn't for the success of the transformers Michael bay films we wouldn't have gotten a bumble bee movie we need to be more thankful as transformers fans there's always that possibility we wouldn't have gotten transformers live action movies at all
True, no one had a clear clue on how to merge the G1 Transformers designs to CGI (a bit too late for Transformers Prime or War for Cybertron) and make it look good.
Be Grateful Be Thankful for Michael Bay because without him we wouldn't of even had a live action Transformers movie think about that the next time you think his movies are trash.
@@josephlinden1630 It's confirmed that Michael Bay is involved with the Bumblebee Movie. It is the first live-action Transformers film not to be directed by Michael Bay, though he still acts as a producer.

While it’s clearly just a style change, I like to think that after Cybertron fell, everything went to shit and cybertronians became more sharp and dangerous (keep in mind Bumblebee takes place around 25 years before the 2007 movie, so in that time frame Cybertron and its inhabitants changed)
Frankly I dont care the reason, im not a fan of these G1 designs....the only G1 designed characters, i like are Bumblebee and Blitzwing and that's because they are a perfect mix of G1 and Bayverse. The rest are to blocky, simplified and honestly look to dumped down in design for my tastes.... especially Soundwave, Ravage and Shockwave. So while the story and plot for the movies were shit, I'll always prefer the designs of the main cast characters from the first three movies. From Ironhide, Starscream, and Megatron from the 2007 movie, to Shockwave and Sentinel in DOTM. I just like the advanced robotic and or threatening looking designs of the the first three bayformers movies.
Bumblebee is a reboot for me. I've seen the movie from Advance Screening. I can tell that because the midcredit scene contradicts to the first Transformers film by Michael Bay.
So, my theory is: They are colourful on Cybertron. When they need to travel through space to a different planet, they change into the "protoforms". When they are on the different planet, they change back to colourful.
The movie bumblebee got the attention of new audiences I have no interest of robot or cars and have no idea what the even transformers is but after watching bumblebee I’m obsessed about transformers movie I’ve been binge watching
It's an honor to watch Transformers: Last Knight cause Michael Bay is retiring This movie is exciting to watch back in the old days in cybertron Maybe Travis Knight will take over
What they should do is remake the cybertron scenes in all the movies, and remake or make a replacement for the last knight, and finish the story for spark sake
Watched it on Sunday. I'd say they went into it thinking "let's make a prequel", and wound up making a reboot. They've almost completely changed the loose timeline established in the previous movies, more notably the times that Bee and the big bot arrived on Earth, and while there is a a brief cameo of sorts from a younger version of a certain S7 agent present in previous movies, the whole of S7 seem to be in amazement at these new visitors, which makes me think they didn't find the Allspark in the early 20th Century, and never recovered N.B.E.-01 in the 1930s.
It has to be a reboot considering the ending of the movie, yet the ending also has me scratching my head for the alt mode Bumblebee picked. This is the first time that I can say I look forward to a sequel. They’d better do right by the characters and not randomly kill them off in the “just cuz it’s AWESOME!” way that Bay did. The thing I liked most about this movie was that it seemed like those who made it cared about the source material. They didn’t pick and choose and out their own twist on it like Bay did. It was really refreshing.
I honestly think one reason is because back in the 80's. The designs they have for the bumblebee movie were the original designs used in g1 in cybertron when japan had control of the transformers first before they signed it over
I think the live-action continuity for this movie should be the start of a new live-action continuity in general. Sure, it can be part of the same mythos as the Michael bay films, but it can be a more diverse and better explored one. We see a similar thing with Transformers: War for Cybertron, Fall of Cybertron, Transformers: Prime, and Transformers: RID 2015. They are part of the 'Aligned Continuity' that is fleshed out in detail by the Aligned Continuity Covenant of Primus. All of them are connected loosely. This would be a good way to soft reboot the live-action films, while still keeping some connection. This would allow for a reason to change the character designs, lore, and story altogether. :)
I may have been bright into transformers by the movies but I'm existed to see the classic designs in the movies I'm super excited fans finally getting wht we deserve ❤❤❤❤❤

The Bumblebee Movie is a Prequel to the 2007 Transformers Movie Directed by Michael Bay.
Which means Bumblebee can't get a reboot because it is in the same universe that was established by Michael Bay.
Here is a good example the Spider-Man movies were directed by Sam Raimi the last movie Spider-Man 3 was in 2007.
Marc Webb was the director for the rebooted Spider-Man movie called
The Amazing Spider-Man it is a reboot because The Amazing Spider-Man has nothing to do with the Sam Raimi directed Spider-Man movies it's a separate universe.
Its okay to change the continuity when said continuity is shit.
CHANGE MY MIND
@@metalliclark86 That's wrong and illogical.
Weather something is bad or not no matter what you can't change the continuaty or anything.
Why because then the story wouldn't make sense things would not add up the best thing to do is to continue with what has already been established and keep the story going.
I really wanted a sequel to
Transformers The Last Knight because I wanted to know what happens next in the story like how does quintessa know how to kill Unicron even after her original plan has failed.
Steven Miles HDGaming I saw the movie and it doesn’t align at all with the 2007 movie, it’s a reboot
@@floppydoppy5382 I believe you do you want to know why I believe you its because apparently it has been said that Bumblebee will speak in the Movie his Character mythology will be changed.
In Transformers The Last Knight it has been revealed that Bumblebee has been on Earth since World War 2.
In the Bumblebee Movie apparently Bumblebee is a War Criminal (or so says the Deception) and Bumblebee arrives on Earth in the 1980s.
What in the name of my mothers cat is that all about.
If the Movie is not a Prequel to the 2007
Transformers Movie then why did they say that it was because so far the story in the Bumblebee Movie doesn't add up with what Michael Bay has established.
This is 100% a reboot with a number of element that carry over.
Source: I've seen the movie
Maybe to fit movie time line. Before going to earth in 2007, the Autobots scan a protoform alt mode and land on earth like that
Maybe, The "protoform" battles were like a Cybertronian version of "300".
They were basically fighting all naked.
"How Barbaric."
The protoform is actually stated in the comic book for the first movie to be the base mode they are "born" with, then they scan another vehicle to gain a disguise. They can then get rid of it and revert back to a protoform if needed.
yeah no I'm really happy that hey have these new designs in Bumblebee. I can but _wish_ that they stay in the future.
Don't you worry now. The final scene proves everything. Trust me. I saw this movie last night. 😉😉

I saw the movie early with a pre-screening and it was so good! It definitely plays on nostalgia almost glaringly so, but it’s worth it. Heartwarming story, great designs, and I actually felt connected to the characters because it was a smaller cast. 10/10 would recommend lol
The reboot characters are way more g1 looking, but they still have a bit of Michael Bay-esque organic robot feel as well. I like the mix
I really enjoy your videos. I like the fact you know what your talking about. Cool music at the close of the video.
They looked way too complex before
bigwhopper6501 but good though
@@thattrash1128 No, the bayformer looks were "extra". 99% of them don't even look like their G1 looks.
That's the point. They are complex and g1 design was too simple
@@nate9030 Yeah but the new film strikes a good balance between both, somthing bay could have done
@@nate9030 In the end, look at the bayformers. You can't even call them transformers anymore. G1 design is the original design. Look at Devastator for example, you have to admit it, I'm serious.
I'm surprised that no one is talking about how in Bumblebee, ravege has 2 eyes. But in ROTF, Ravege has 1 eye.
The designs were a damn mess in the first three movies. They moved away from the mecha anime designs of g1 trying to be too artsy and ended up throwing to many extrenous cogs gears spikes and flappy bits which made them look like a bunch of broken cutlery.
solreavir shut the hell up
I felt the first film worked as a sort of realistic take on Cybertronians. The film franchise really shouldn’t have ever got any sequels.
They are robots
Agree.
The bayformers look Like shit
HELL YEAH! I wanna see Primal flying around and busting heads! Yeeeees.
...as long as we neve see a (Scholastics)"Transmorphers" Transformers movie...
Traitor
I tried watching Beast Wars. Was soo unattached. Looks bad as shit imo. Transformers Prime and Animated is where its at!
Great video bro 👊👍👊!
Soundwave: laserbeak enject operation to kill travis knight
Laserbeak: with pleasure
Prime did that too, making a lot of drones for the Bots to fight
Yes, but there was a difference. The creators of TFP created a model for a jet and a car Vehicon with intention for it to be a Cope and paste character. And they at least put some effort into recolouring the designs and making more of them. But with Bayformers they usually just took a background character that had one sentence in the previous movies and used him.
Prime had a massively lower budget, and a much longer run time. It also had superior writing and a better art direction.
Poor steve tho.
@@keilafleischbein59 Steve is the Wazpinator of TFP
@@megathot3734 holy yes
@@keilafleischbein59 hehe yeah. But also the Vehicons were just that. Drones ment to be killed in mass. Heck Prime would be perfect for a Dynasty Warriors Transformers game with them. But yeah with the Bayformers i couldn't get to excited for any new characters cause i figured they would kick the bucket in the movie. The only hype i felt for TLK and AOE was the Dinobots. And MBay basically slapped me in the face.
There not using the protoforms because there proto forms are what the transformerslook like when they shed there armor and car parts to travel through space
Mattimus Bumblebee travels inside a pod to get to Earth.
Comodin Cam bee did but the others came in protoform mode
Knight either didn’t pay attention to that particular scene or he changed up the continuaty
I am so hyped. This is going to be so awesome.
The Bumblebee Movie is a Prequel to the 2007 Transformers Movie Directed by Michael Bay.

@@steven_miles5545 I don't agree. In the 2007th movie the Allspark was involved. That's why they came to Earth. But there's nothing about the Allspark here. What's more, Optimus didn't arrive so soon, as it's showed in the Bumblebee movie.
While these designs are Recognisable,
they lack complexity, and being realistic.
BLUEBOX13 STUDIOS Still. It does NOT look real AT ALL!!!!
I'm not going to pay attention to continuity because I guarantee if it does great then this will start the rebooted series.
I'm very excited for this!
Holy shit can we talk about the Armada soundtrack playing in the background though? Instant sub.
The Transformers we deserved. Finally people!
HELLASgate7 don't fucking act like that if it wasn't for bay this movie wouldn't exist
That Trash True!!!!!!!!!!!
Rockaholic Angel Starscream was on Cybertron in one of the scenes, but Blitzwing is who went after Bumblebee.
Was anyone else hype to see soundwave? He was my favorite decepticon

Fifth was dragons. Bumblebee movie is nostalgia and triple changers.
Bumblebee movie wasn't near nostalgic

the Bayverse protoforms make actual sense to me. They haven't scanned anything yet, so they wouldn't have any actual colors, details and car/jet/animal/etc parts on their chests and bodies.
1:01
I like the Bay look, but also the G1 look (what we get in 'Bumblebee'), though I also think that it's time to let all of the G1 and BW stuff go and march into the future w/ new designs for preexisting chars.
They had alt modes on cybertron the colours and parts come from their cybertronian alt modes
What's the name of the song you play at the end of your video? I know it's the transformers theme but which version?
G1 show intro
If I gotta be honest I think they're trying too hard to win people back with this move. I know they're trying to give us something different for the movie franchise lately but it feels like they're just trading in one form of stagnation with only a different brand which is rehashing G1 for the 50th time. The G1 nostalgia train has been going on for 12 years now and I'm worried Hasbro's going too far with it. Not to mention that there are ways of making generic looking robots and places that don't involve being black and grey all over. Just ask G1. Again it just feels like they're trading in one extreme for another as opposed to finding a middle ground.
We'll see if it pays off. At this point idc what they look like as long as the movie focuses on a good story
Better to return to the roots of the franchise that actually defines it in the first place than continue on with Bay's shit.
What I don’t get is why do people hate the updated G1 design? At least there better than Bay’s designs.
Better is opinion I preffered the complex alien designs over the simple blocky designs.
I don‘t think people HATE the G1 designs. They just hate how this is all obvious pandering to the 80‘s kids
I have...
@@evanbao93 don't forget Optimus from the first bayverse movie.

I recognize that background music (thanks for the fun PTSD)

So, my theory is:
They are colourful on Cybertron.
When they need to travel through space to a different planet, they change into the "protoforms".
When they are on the different planet, they change back to colourful.
If Michael is gone I won't see those sweet explosions anymore

It's an honor to watch Transformers: Last Knight
cause Michael Bay is retiring
This movie is exciting to watch back in the old days in cybertron
Maybe Travis Knight will take over
What they should do is remake the cybertron scenes in all the movies, and remake or make a replacement for the last knight, and finish the story for spark sake
Can’t wait to see it 😊👍
It has to be a reboot considering the ending of the movie, yet the ending also has me scratching my head for the alt mode Bumblebee picked.
Id like to think this is an entirely new series in the movie verse, one that does justice to G1, and not just a cash cow
Saw this last night at the fan event! This movie is not only an amazing movie but a amazing transformers movie!!!!
It’s funny how it’s just been re-confirmed that it is not a prequel but a reboot
I saw this, it didn't feel like a prequel, in honestly felt like a reboot and i loved it for it!
Simply put - Bumblebee is the start of a rebooted Transformers franchise.
Short answer, its a reboot. Knight could do whatever he wanted to since it was a new continuity
