    If you want to report on “illegal” activities, maybe you should report on the public injections and the needles that’s left on the streets and BART seats , those are the real public safety issues

Make the vendors who are selling merchandise apply for a permit and regulate them to be sure they are selling authentic merchandise that hasn't been stolen. And shut down the vendors selling alcohol. It is illegal to sell alcohol without a proper license to do so and it is a crime to serve alcohol to minors.

    What illegal vendors? SB 946, pretty much legalized most of this activity statewide and prevented cities and counties from doing anything about it. People were either stupid or asleep at the switch when this passed, as it went through with overwhelming margins in both houses.
    I wonder if that woman who loves it so much, would love it if she had to compete with them?

      @Rikkcas Před 2 lety +1

      @@RedHanded1969 nope. My family are immigrants and helped build SF in the early 1900s. My grandfather sold fish off the boat when he first got here. But legally. Not on the sneak. Because he respected and obeyed the laws of his new country that let him enter. Immigration is nothing new,son. I didn’t speak English until I was 5. I was an employer who supported 50 Hispanic employees for over 35 years, including paying for a few to get their green card and bailing them out of jail when they got in trouble. I even paid for a few to take night school language classes. So you’re clearly barking at the wrong tree with that story line.
      What’s going on now in the city streets isn’t the same as it once was. Now the laws aren’t followed and people sneak around trying to evade them and not paying their share of taxes. They do that until they get caught red handed. Laws are there for a reason. If someone enters the country and evades the law,it is disrespectful. It also is indicative of being not so conscious of the gift that they have been given to be living in the USA. Not all, but from what I’ve experienced,many. It’s not appreciated like it once was by earlier immigrants.
      And you’re also incorrect about “believing the stories “. I don’t believe what the media tries to spin on anything.
      But I’m not going to try to change your mind. If you don’t want to be a part of the country that welcomes you, maybe you should get out. If you want to live in the city, it’s expensive. There are other options besides complaining and throwing your story line at it. That is just as much a lie as what you are calling lies.
      I’ll add.. my father worked and saved money until he could buy a restaurant. I know what bad food is. Many of those vendors are trying to make money. Understandable. But they don’t dispose of the food that goes bad,so they don’t lose money. They re-heat it and add lots of condiments to disquise that it’s spoiled food. I’ve seen them do it when they set up. You can easily see it’s not fresh. That is the problem. Poor sanitary procedure and health code violations. Those laws are to safeguard against that so people don’t get sick. Few,if any legal restaurants do that because they get inspected. When was the last time a street cart was inspected, unless they were being busted? On Grant Ave particularly, they sell it to the drunk kids late at night, when no one is around to see what’s going on. At fisherman’s wharf, they scurry away when they see law enforcement coming. Why is that? Not because the food is good or another spot is better. It’s because they are probably selling spoiled product and doing it illegally for cash.
      Learn to adapt and conform instead of being part of the bigger problem that has slowly caused SF to deteriorate.
      Maybe don’t be so sensitive and listen to people that are older,more experienced, and have been here longer than you have probably even been alive. What I’m saying isn’t hate. I’m not attacking immigrants,as you are assuming. I’m pointing out the downfall of how they’re going about some of this.
      What you are saying can be more accurately described as entitlement and hate,more than protecting legal immigrants. Work for it,sure. But do it legally.
      Good luck to you. With that attitude, you’ll need it. ✌️🤌🏼
