    Thank you! Couldn’t find directions on the website. This video is perfect! My clock never changes itself when it should. But my cheap little Emerson clock that I bought at Target years ago, always changes itself. Even keeps itself 9 minutes fast like I like it.

    Come to realize that setting the time zone is much easier than I thought. Was actually packing the clock for return. Then I decided to check the manual. The instruction says to press and release the Zone button. When that didn't change anything, I pressed the Set button till the DST appeared, and P under. Then I pressed the Zone button till I got C, for Central. There's P, M, C, E. Hope this helps someone.

    It is set up for Pacific time, even I tried to change it 1000 times to East time, it keeps going back to Pacific time. Should I move to California? Maybe I won't have a problem with the clock there...How do I change the time zone (not just on or off - I have it off, and even with that, goes back to Pacific time) to East time? please, help. I have 3 of these clocks, they are driving me nuts. I bought them because I love the design, but I think I made a mistake.

    • @lacrossetechnology
      @lacrossetechnology  Před 4 lety +1

      Hey Laura, we're truly sorry for the confusion. The video unfortunately does not cover the Time Zone nor Daylight Saving Time (DST) settings. Please see page 2 of your manual for these adjustments: www.lacrossetechnology.com/media/catalog/product/w/t/wt-8005u_1.pdf -- We should also note that the ON/OFF setting within your settings menu is likely for Daylight Saving Time, and if you live in an area that follows DST, you'll likely want to keep that setting set to ON. Sorry again for the trouble, we're here if you have any further questions.

    How do I disable the atomic settings on this clock. I have set it to the correct time multiple times already and this stupid setting keeps on changing it to the year 2098, five hours behind and 3 days off date.

    • @JohnSmith-ys4nl
      @JohnSmith-ys4nl Před 4 lety

      If it's setting the date to 2098, it sounds defective to me. You could try a hard reset with the reset button and start the setup process over. If that doesn't work and it's under warranty, send it back.

    • @lacrossetechnology
      @lacrossetechnology  Před 4 lety

      As John Smith mentioned, a reset would be our first suggestion. First, remove the batteries from the clock and press any button at least 20 times. Then wait 15 minutes before installing a new set of reputable alkaline batteries. Once turned on, use a pen or paperclip to press the RESET button one time. From there, follow the setup steps as instructed. If this continues to default to the incorrect date/time, please send our support team a message here: bit.ly/contact_techsupport -- they will gladly help get you a replacement. Sorry again for the inconvenience.

      Sorry for the trouble! Let's try a few steps to see if we can get this corrected:
      1. Remove the batteries from your display.
      2. Press any button on the display at least 25 times and leave it sitting without power for at least two hours.
      3. Power the display back up by installing a new set of regular alkaline batteries from the same package. Other battery types should be avoided.
      If this does not resolve the issue, please message our support staff directly here: bit.ly/contact_techsupport. Or alternatively, send us a private message on our Facebook: bit.ly/LaxTech_Facebook or Twitter: bit.ly/LaxTech__Twitter page for further assistance. Our apologies again for any inconvenience.

    • @lacrossetechnology
      @lacrossetechnology  Před 5 lety

      Hi Timothy, have you tried pressing the RESET button? You may need a pen or paper clip to press it in, but this should help reset your settings and allow your search button to work again. If this does not resolve the issue (allowing the clock to seach of the WWVB signal), please send our support team a message here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/support/index/form/ and we'll work with you to get you a functioning clock.
      Now, on the other hand, if you're referring to the clock not picking up the signal in general, you can help this by moving the clock near a window, away from other electronics, and have the front or back of it face Fort Collins, CO. It can sometimes take a few nights for it to pick up this signal, which is why we have the manual settings for use during this time or if you're in an area where the signal has trouble reaching.

    I own the "Mainstays" atomic wall clock from Wal-Mart. The clock is actually made by La Crosse specifically for Wal-Mart. (Model #W88631). I will say I liked it so much I bought another. I will never own a clock that is not radio controlled. My living room clock is a La Crosse analog wall clock. My kitchen clock is the W88631 and my desk clock is the same. I am very happy with them. They pick up the signal just fine from Colorado every night and automatically set for DST changes. I think a lot of the complainers are people who cannot read instructions. By the way Greg Anderson did a great review of this clock here: czcams.com/video/_FLSUfqYq98/video.html

    • @lacrossetechnology
      @lacrossetechnology  Před 5 lety

      Hi Harry, we apologize for not included that instruction in this video, however, with this clock the atomic function is always set to ON. This means that the clock will automatically search for the WWVB radio signal coming from Fort Collins, CO each night (typically between the hours of 12am and 6am). Once the signal is received, the clock will adjust the time accurately according to the Time Zone you have selected using the ZONE button on the back. To manually search for this signal press the WWVB SEARCH button, the WWVB Atomic Icon will start to flash on screen. It will be solid when connected. The clock switched itself to a different time zone while I was away and now has wrong time, date, year etc. changed batteries and have followed all instructions but cannot get it to set for correct time. The clock is only 8 months old but I did not regester it so I guess I am stuck. I bought tit because I had one before and it was great never did a thing with it had it for 10 years and it finally just gave up. This is a disappointment,

    • @lacrossetechnology
      @lacrossetechnology  Před 6 lety

      Hi Jacqueline, how long has it been since you've tried resetting your clock? It can sometimes take up to 5 nights for it to receive the atomic reception. Moving it near a window, away from other electronics, and having the front or back of it face Fort Collins, CO will help make for the best reception chance (typically happens over night). You'll know the reception has been received when the WWVB Atomic Icon remains solid on screen. If you do not wish to wait for the reception, you can always set your clock manually following the steps on page 2 of the manual here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/media/catalog/product/w/t/wt-8005u.pdf ... once the atomic reception is received it will override these settings.

    • @lacrossetechnology
      @lacrossetechnology  Před 3 lety

      Hey Peg, our apologies for the lack of info on that topic in this video. If your clock did not adjust its time automatically by now, there's a good chance it is not receiving the WWVB atomic signal. To try and get this feature working, use the Zone button to make sure your correct time zone is selected, and the WWVB Search button to manually perform a search. It can sometimes take 3-5 nights for your clock to receive the signal and adjust your time automatically. Moving the clock away from other electronics and near a window with the front or back of the device facing Fort Collins, CO can often help speed this connection process up. When connected, the WWVB (Tower) Icon will be solid on screen and your time should adjust appropriately. However, if you're simply just looking to adjust your time manually, the instructions in this video should walk you through how to do that. For additional information about this product, you can find both the full manual and FAQ documents on our page here: www.lacrossetechnology.com/products/wt-8005u-s#support
