One race there were 4 of us teaching the finish line and a player knocked me into the other 2 making us crash while he got 1st. Smart play
Well... I suppose it can depend on the number of them. I can’t say I’ve ever had that many shits in my lobby. Usually there’s only one or two. But never that many. Although sometimes they all could be friends. So it can be quite hard to stop them

This is why I love the Vagner. The back end has so much grip that one time in a race, someone tried to pit me and their car lost control whilst I took no effect.
That's a lag thing, they ran into your data ghost, where the computer thought you would be maybe a millisecond ahead of him, so while he may have "hit you" he didnt really touch you...happens to me all the time in racing, sometimes I'm lucky others I'm not

I remember not too long ago someone tried to pit maneuver me while on a highway race. I think I was driving the x80 and they caught up to me using slipstream. I could tell what was coming though, so at the very last second I tapped my brakes and they ended up pit maneuvering themselves on the front of my car as they crossed in front of me. Probably the most accomplished I've felt during a GTA race. I ended up taking 1st in that race.

The guy didn’t even pit him on purpose in my eyes, they was along side (not fully) and they was dropping down so the guy in the black was probably assuming he was going to the inside apex for the corner coming up and followed and then the guy in the blue straightens up which is a little stupid seeing as he can clearly see the black car going quicker and following the same path and the black car was probably surprised he did that I have only watched the incident not the rest so he could be actually be taking him out later on idk

Randoms do it all the time, for one of three reasons: 1) In the words of Nos, "they're bad", 2) They don't realise how much of an impact it makes/they always just leave it on, 3) [see video ^]

I only ever had catch up on when I was shit and couldn't win, I got good and don't want it because I'm usually in top 3
Milky Career I leave it on because I like a challenge. Not much fun if everyone else is minutes behind me and I'm not having to work for my victory.
When you think about it, those races (stunt, hotring etc.) looks like they were made by some amateur modder, and not by a big ass company.
Baruchas it looks like the stuff I make in the creator (except I'm too lazy to work on them for over a day)
Not to mention that you can easily overjump the checkpoints in stuntraces made by R*...
It doesn't look any better than what we used to see in San Andreas Multiplayer (SAMP). In fact we had much better stuff.

"Catch up: Off" are the best races. If it's on, the 1st car can't drive max speed which is unfair if you are a good driver.
GTA 5 races are not made for fair play, they are made for fun. I don't think race in the video was fun.

Why would you turn to gta for good racing? They’re supposed to be chaotic, you’re supposed to crash people. The physics reward it. The goal of a race in gta is to be interesting, not a perfect example of maxing every lap. If you’re a good driver, you stay in the front group and hold on for dear life. If not, you fall behind and flounder, and if you’re decent, you can still have a fun race and have a shot at the front

Gemaera I've been fighting for 1st place with this other player recently, and just as I was about to pass them they purposely drove straight into me and knocked us both off the track. Anthony Molina non contact is so boring on hotring though... I know boring is better than being in a lobby with 29 scumbags who only know how to ram, but in the right lobby it's really exciting with contact. Being able to predict mass (accidental, not ramming) crashes and maneuver through/avoid them is part of the whole NASCAR thing. (And very satisfying imo)

kagen lim in GTA V pit maneuvers are not nearly as hard to perform than on GTA SA and GTA IV. especially a speeding vehicule. pretty much anything you do to a speeding vehicule in GTA V will make it fishtail

I find the physics quite horrible for racing in this game. Not because it's arcade, but rather because it favors ramming a lot. You can ram and spin out your opponents effortlessly, completely ruining them while you don't have any consequences. Bad design for racing.. unless they were going for Burnout-Style "racing" I guess.
Take Grid 2 for instance, as arcade as it is, cars have a heavy rear-end, so if you attempted such a scrub tactic, you'd be the one spinning out, as if you slammed into a rock. While this may be unrealistic, gameplay-wise it's a great mechanic. It encourages players to race more cleanly, and punishes them if they try "racing" in such an atrocious way.
Another example is Juiced 1. Not only that cars are much heavier and hard to spin out or ram out of your way, doing this will damage your respect (which you rely on in career) and cause a nitrous leak. Your car also damages a lot faster from that kind of contact, which results in higher repair costs later. That game especially has strong positive reinforcements for good, clean and skillful driving, and heavy negative reinforcements for driving like a 6-year old high on sugar.
When i heard you say juiced 1 respect points, i got flashbacks to the pain and suffering this game gave me.
I haven't played Juiced 1 in years. Is there still a way to get it?

Gta has the crash enhancer script which ruins any sort of bumps with other cars as they sort of stick to each other or try to and cause a spin it works in weird ways

You really have to do these races with a friend. If somebody hits or tries to spin your friend twice in the race, then just go full insane on Them in the last 2 laps

Funny enough is, that at least 80% of everyone who just crashes into you, have absolutely no racing line. Even though the Racing in GTA is extremely easy compared to simulators.
