I find it interesting watching this that the og route is actually not that much slower than the 2 newer routes. I wonder if there is ever a case for using it to avoid traffic coming down the mountain if you trailing towards the rear.

As other comments have mentioned, there are other lines that are now available (specifically making the elevator line on the middle route even faster than the rest and basically the best option overall). It was always going to happen that new optimisations would be found for something like this, but the main point of this video was to show just how close (or far apart) different options are. Weather conditions and the car you're in will play a huge part in all of these being a different amount quicker or slower than each other, but at least there's a general baseline comparison here to show the differences between the main routes and lines. To be fair Verdilith did these runs a long time ago and I struggled to get this video made, so I'm just glad it's out now and his work wasn't completely wasted by my lack of time to dedicate to it XD

At 7:31 you can go right instead of left on the elevator run for a faster time, if done right the time is about the same as hotlap.

There is a new route to get to the OG parachute. I wonder how it compares with the hail mary. Much safer for sure.

I hear if you change your name to "RBS" you automatically save 5 seconds off of your time, no matter which route you take...

Verdilith didn't do the faster elevator lines - Frozen's line in between the trees at the bottom and then my jump cut at the top of the elevator which saves ~2s. With these, the elevator is faster than both Hybrid and Hotlap.

I remember Verdilith mentioning that you were still to upload this at some point! It's technically out of date now as there is a new line at the end of the elevator (middle route 😡) which almost completely gains back that ~2 deficit to the Hybrid. Unless you rail ride absolutely perfectly it's now pretty much always better to go elevator regardless of what vehicle you're in.

So having done this research more thoroughly, i hope this is the start of your improvement in gfreds. We dont expect rbs tryhard levels thats just over the top, but seeing some sort of improvement by practicing, to be more competitive in the race youve made famous would make them much more enjoyable to watch then all the chokes and fails.

Which line is quickest in a trashed 9F? Asking for a friend.

ELEVATOR Route is the fastest by default for almost all cars, the new jump line on top of elevator saves those 2 seconds. HYBRID Route requires good rail riding to be faster, on specific cars like 9f or infernus only.

of course you got a factor in driver error too... take somebody like broughy on the hot lap route and RBS on the old school line and I bet you RBS will still get to the top of Chiliad before broughy, LOL

Love that the cars are colour-coded by line so that in the "fastest of each route" sections, you are reminded of which line the cars are doing.

Considering verd didn’t even do the rbs line at the end of elevator there is almost zero reason to use hybrid anymore, let alone hot lap! Especially considering the hold ups at the train tracks sometimes

I think a way to test the water level you can go to would be a custom track of sorts, with varying levels of depth in a part of the map where the water isn't too choppy. Out on the sea won't work because the waves will influence how submerged a vehicle is. Perhaps at the reservoir?

You can use the melons you unlock, the one that're counted after each game, to unlock skins :P
