“I am here to serve the players, not the other way around.” Elite management mentality in a nutshell. There’s a limit to what a manager can achieve when they demand to have it all their way ie recruitment, tactics, shape, what decisions players make on the pitch. That’s why managers like Mourinho and Conte burn brightly but burn out quickly wherever they go. When a team has a coach that can get the best out of what they have, there are no limits to what they can achieve.
Which player has TT brought the best out of ? Which player has improved under him in 18 months?
@@Never_Wr0ng rudiger, Chilwell got a lot better, Alonso has been much better under Tuchel, Jorginho literally got 3rd in the Ballon D’Or after looking like one of our worst ever midfielders under Sarri and Lampard, Chalobah is very good… don’t really need to continue, should be obvious at this point.
@@PsYcHoSiS11 Chillwell is a 50 million pound player.Alonso has been a PL winner, Jorginho was bought for 60 million and was probably at his best under Sarri (unless you count making him the Penalty taker as improvement) .
Chalobah is a youngster, every PL manager can be credited for bringing through atleast one.
Rudiger..... not sure what aspect of his game improved besides putting him in a back 3 which will improve most CBs but alright I'll give you Rudiger. As you can see, it's not 'obvious'.
@@Never_Wr0ng TT played Malang Sarr, who under any other manger would have been loaned out repeatedly. He played him and as a back up he performed, so much so that he has been loaned out and could fetch 15m. Chalobah had a break out season under TT. Jorginho stats have been improving. Given the fact that he had to shepherd the midfield all of last year on his own, with injuries to Kante and Kova. RLC had more game time than Ziyech and Pulisic. The fact that now RLC is used as a hybrid wingback is testament to TT s skill as a manager. Rudiger was almost sold to Spurs before TT came, right now he is one of the best CB in Europe. We lost him, but he never had such developments before. He was here since Conte s 2nd season. Ben Chilwell before his injury was leading the stats for chances created and goal scored for a full back. Everyone wanted Marcos Alonso out, he played Alonso and manged him in such a way that he was our main LB last season due to Chillys injury and he did a decent job. Sure Ziyech, Timo and Pulisic haven't thrived under him, yes he has not utilised them properly. But overall he is a good manager and is finding and building a squad. Just like Klopp took time, this will take time. In TT we trust.
@@vivektony1920 So he improved Chalobah, RLC & Sarr so much that they are not even going to start for Chelsea anymore? 😂
And I'm sorry if you don't know this but Malang Sarr was one of the most promising young left footed CBs during his time at Nice. And would have gone for far more than '15m' if his contract had not run out.

Mourinho speaking about Chelsea transfer ban 2 years ago
"I think this is a great opportunity for them to grow. Chelsea needs a strong guy in midfield? . Zouma. No need to buy. He's a PL winner Chelsea needs a striker? Tammy Abraham. He's a Chelsea boy more than some other big name. Everywhere he goes he scores. Played in the PL played in the championship but with a PL level club and he never had issues scoring. I can see him finishing the season as Chelsea's top scorer "
That season Lampard did play Tammy a lot and he did finish the season as Chelsea's top scorer being a massive part of them getting top 4 and now he went to Roma and finished last season being England's top scorer in Europe equal with Harry Kane. I really wish Chelsea had kept him instead of paying a record breaking fee for a guy that could barely score 5 goals last season. That zouma comment didn't age the best though...
If they substituted the ball for a cat then Zouma could've been their top striker too.
And that's part of why I think Lampard's first season at Chelsea was overblown. He came into a set up with some the best young players coming through the youth ranks in a situation that begged for him to play them
zouma aint a midfielder tho

In Tuchel’s football point of view as he explained it when he was in Dortmund, ego has no place in a team. The team goal is to win the game. Players are there to perform their tasks and get out the box only if they take successfull decisions.
That is real hard especially with strikers because they need confidence.
He really hates egoism in team sports. Legendary his rage in practice at Dortmund because a player played too flashy and wouldn't pass the ball. "Ein Trick hier und ein Trick da ....😠📢 YOU ONLY PLAY FOR YOURSELF!!!"
Egoless striker don't score. If he really said that then it explains a lot

Very good to hear that there is frequent and active communication to the new owners. Shows that Boehly cares and of course the amount of money he is willing to spend right away shows it too.
I think he was the best choice to take over the club
Manager of the year in my opinion considering the biggest blow of losing the best owner in modern football, Roman Abramovich (in spite of what you think politically...); the transfer ban, the lingering worry about the future of the whole football team, the unnecessary noise Lukaku brought right before a season-defining game... Best manager in my opinion to keep the team at the top in spite of all those challenges

Thomas has not an ounce of blame for Lukaku . TT was promised a striker but he got one that didn't want to be there so Bohley is taking a loss on him and will do it with any player that doesn't want to play for the club. It's time of change and anyone that doesn't want to be part of it should leave just like Lukaku
Not true. You can't dispute the fact that it's the managers job to get the best out of his players...timo, lukaku, ziyech, pulisic, CHO, havertz etc.. All these players are struggling..l like TT but he isn't blameless
I don’t think he’s blameless, but the players do have to carry majority of the blame. I think a 4-3-3 would give his offensive players more opportunity-but it’s up to them to take advantage. Lukaku was probably a bad signing from the get go-but he should have done better.
Lukaku left Inter, after a great title win, at the peak of being revered as king by the Inter world...he did that by declaring love for his long-dreamt youth passion, Chelsea...that is a fact

Needless to say what I feared exactly happened and things just spiralled out of control from there. So glad to see the back of him now.
Lukaku is not the problem.
Manchester United doesn't win with Ronaldo.
Chelsea is cursed.
Chelsea is curses no striker has succeeded since Costa
For people saying Chelsea is cursed.. maybe the the 9 shirt is lol but no there’s just no time for a selfish mentality at Chelsea it’s about the club winning honours not individual acclaim. Lukakus not even world class.
Biggest nonsense I have read .
Mourinho saying about someone else everything has to be about them is the biggest irony ever
Nobody is to blame but Lukaku himself, he was happy to come when he heard about the money but as soon as he realised premier league defenders won’t roll over for him he turned tail and ran, his legacy will be someone who was too cowardly to give it a real try
He started off well TBF just don't know
What could of caused him to not perform
People had him down for top scorer
Listen i hate lukaku but listen no striker can fit into our system jesus would have been perfect but strikers like lakakakakakaka ronaldo And others cant fit
So true
@Fran Fran I second you. Lukaku’s failure in Chelse was not because of defenders in PL is better in Serie A. But Chelsea’s tactics can’t work for a pure striker like Lukaku or Ronaldo.
Couldn’t of said it better. He will go back to a crap league score some goals and in his head think he’s the best striker in the world.

Thomas is one hell of a lucky guy. getting his preferred players and is backed by the owner, so life's good for him compared to his previous counterparts
The new owners have landed a top-of-the-pile club free of debt in a move so lucky even the oligarchs of old would be envious. They had better share the love.

Not even a Chelsea fan but this is a classy manager right here. Great interviewer too, should have her do these more often!
what really bothers me is that there is no player that fits TT offensively and the attacking game is close to non-existing. Last season Chillwell and James did more attacking then Hakim, Timo, Christian and Callum. I get the issue with Lukaku, but here is Timo going to Leipzig and having impact on right away. Tammy blossoming at Roma but every offensive player at Chelsea find themselves frustrated due to lack of creativity. And the block of holding midfielders (Kante, Kovacic, Jorginho) no matter the selection, just control the ball with no forward movement.
We should have kept Tammy, I hope we exercise the buy back we have for him next summer 😬
Even then he still needs to say he wants to come back signing the contract
@@yxng_tea8928 I think he'll come back providing that he is guaranteed play time, he left because he spent most of the season on the bench. It's the same reason Sterling came to Chelsea, he said he wanted more game time than he was getting at City.
Tammy's numbers are decent no doubt but he's not a top class forward, at least not yet. He's a squad player in a top club at best but I also don't blame him for demanding to be our starting forward. Tuchel wanted an upgrade and I'm sure no Chelsea could've predicted Lukaku would've been so bad.

TT clearly misses Peter Cech, bring him back. He keeps mentioning him in every interview
Petr Cech resigned, the new owners didn't sack him.
What a guy..what an asset to the club!!
tuchel handled brilliantly the period of lukaku's controversial comments,i think there was two roots for lukaku's struggle, the first one being how fast out of nowhere he had to leave inter where he was becoming a cult hero,in a period where inter had to sell one of their most valuable players for ffp or something like that but lukaku's ego accepted it with perspective of unfinished business with chelsea, but there came the second root which is that the expectation from strikers seem to change, few years ago a top striker coming to a team was like the last piece of the puzzle, who is put in the best possible conditions by those behind, now the strikers have to be the first to press, have hold up play passing ability, dribbling, being able to move to wings to let other teammates finish actions...and tuchel wanted that new all rounded type of striker/forward,so after a couple of matches where the team seemed to try playing to lukaku's strengths i particularly remember the game against us arsenal then tuchel chose to stick with his real philosophy which favoured players who can play 2/3 offensive positions like havertz or now sterling and that interview just came to exteriorise mutual frustrations from lukaku and the fans, who expect those 70M+ strikers to have messi CR7 lewandowski type of numbers(just look at the way nunez is so quickly roasted, you'd think he already spent 10 months in the league scoring only 2 goals or something)
So glad that Tuchel admitted that he's also at fault for Lukaku because I've always felt that. Now I can rest and support Tuchel more.

My Prayer is for Chelsea to keep Tuchel for long term. He`s exactly what the club needs. Please Boehly work with this guy and provide him what he needs, what a classy guy

There have been a few interviews now where Thomas mentions Petr Cech’s absence. They must have had an excellent working relationship. Could be the one move Todd’s got wrong so far.
Chelsea bless with another owner that doesn't mind spending big, tuchel is sitting pretty in a perfect position because the owners look to him to lead so he has full control over the Chelsea team
Hope in addition to revamping the squad, Tuchel and coaching team can succeed in upskilling younger players and also some of the existing offensive players in the team. Goals have really shrinked for sometime now and we cant overlook it. As of now it looks like a player joining Chelsea is loosing the market value and going out cheap but all incomings are costing a bomb. Not sure how sustainable this is with all these Financial Fair Play regulations. Hopefully a solid scouting and recruitment team will help resolve the problem.
I'm not sure where you're getting your numbers from. Most of the players going out on the cheap were signed before he took over. Tuchel has tried his best to make it all work out with them but failed.

Bro was blushing at the start haha
It's both tuchel's tactics and lukaku's adaptability that made it not work.
lukaku didn't fit chelseas system but Chelsea bought him, lukaku didn't want to adapt to the system and that's just fact. There were times he made forward runs but never got the ball and times were he didn't make good decisions.
Are you dumb? You said he didn’t want to adapt and in the next sentence you said he tried, it’s one or the other stop trying to sound smart

@@Netizen0512 Exactly, he wants to be a main man with a team built or tailored to his playing style but Chelsea needs a team player.
