THANK YOU for this video!! I've been chasing this "skip" in my truck and everyone wants to throw injectors in it without checking fuel pressure.

@armyguy209 You are the perfect candidate for the Elite fuel system. You have spent big money on making the truck run hard but the puny stock fuel lines and slow stock fuel pump just are not going to get the fuel to your injectors when you demand it. I guarantee you that the Elite system or similar set up will knock your socks off when you install it on your truck. Probably 15-20% power increase and better fuel economy.

@bigdaddy234567 Only time will tell on the 6.7. So far the Spartan tuned 6.7s I have seen are astonishingly fast. It seems the engine, like the 6.4, is a sound engine, but the heat from the emissions may take its toll in the long run. We will see.

Thanks Bill, ya i figured that. they forgot to set the regulator on the kit to 60 psi so the first day i set it back down to 70 just incase they did adjust it and the gauge in the cab was off, just so that it wouldn't be below 40. Then i phoned them the day after and they said they didn't set the regulator so now i set it to 62 psi so hopefully those 2 days didn't blow injector seals :p

@fordpowerstroke2012 We have had a bunch of problems with the aftermarket fuel systems. the complete system from Elite diesel is the best. I would just stick with a new stock pump unless you do the full regulated return system.

M12x1.25 I believe. Might be M12x1.5. Every tech needs a fitting for this, period. It's very surprising how many trucks have low fuel pressure concerns that go unnoticed (and unfixed).

Hey Bill, great video! I am having real problems with my 2005 6.0 F250. It stalled on me once and almost stalled again another two times. It has no power and when I was trying to get home it was doing only 30mph in a 70mph speed zone going up a good grade. I just changed out both fuel filters today, and have tried Sea Foam as well. I think I have water in my fuel, but I'm not sure. I'm lost, do you think it's my fuel pump or something else? Don't have much $ to make big repairs... Please help...

First off great videos they've helped me on more then one occasion. I have one question maybe you can help me with. My 08 6.4 will very randomly rev slam mainly when you need to let off the gas and get on it right away. To take a curve or in traffic ex. It will then get stuck in gears to the point where you need to pull off the road and turn off the truck. After restarting the truck everything is back to normal. Thanks

Since some time I OWNER 2006 Ford F350 6.0 diesel.
When trying to run, hpop pressure in the first 3 seconds is 0psi, for the next 3 seconds the pump is pumping up to 100 psi. After the next second the pump is pumping from 100 to 500 psi - then the engine starts up.
Pump is new, proven IPR valve, the system was checked for leaks 120psi (air presure).
I have took out the pcm power relay, and have started the starter, Max Pressure on high pressure strip was 1400psi.
What else can I check ???
    I have no more ideas.

You said a compression fitting from tube to NPT, but what is the size and name that connects to the top fuel filter filter housing? I would like to make one of those test gauges for my 6.0 truck.

Hey Bill, im in the process of bulletproofing my 2005 6.0 because of blown head-gaskets. Now one thing i wanted to upgrade was the fuel pump figured its time to put some new injectors in the truck seen as how its got just over 200k and just want to make sure the fuel pump is nice and new on the truck so my question is have you had any experience with the Air Dog 2 fuel systems for the 6.0 and would your recommend it?
    Thanks Chris

Do you still think that the Elite Diesel kit is the best out there for the 6.0? I have a 2006 with ARP studs and the full Bullet Proof Diesel kit(remote oil with billet oil cooler/bulletproof egr cooler). I also have a SCT with custom tunes from Matt at gearhead(SRL). I put a fuel pressure gauge on it and idle is 70PSI but WOT can drop as low as 15PSI which I know is horrible for injectors. I have a feeling my pump is going out. Do you think the Elite is the way to go for me?
    Thanks

  • @fordpowerstroke2012

Is there a zone where the fuel pressure is to high for the 6.0 that it can harm the engine? I have the elite diesel stage 2 fuel system and i have a glow shift fuel pressure gauge. and i get 88 psi constantly even if i really get on it, it only drops probably 2 psi at wot.

My 03 6.0 stays a steady 55psi at idle and maybe drops as low as 50 at WOT. Is this a good spec for fuel pressure or would I benefit by upgrading the regulator to the 3C3Z-9T517-AG and get it up near 70 psi?
