    IF I may, I'd like to correct you on one INCORRECT statement . It's crucial that people understand this so that they can enjoy a faster running game: Same Resolution IS NOT Necessary this is a crucial point. I am personally am running 3 , 55 in 4k tvs. I'm using a 3080 cpu. Although very capable, it does come to a grind when running three 4K tvs. Therefore I set my Center monitor resolution to 4K and the two side ones (left and right) to 1440p. Doing so allows my game to run much faster frames per second , because it's not rendering as many pixels on the left and right screen. It is incorrect to say that you cannot align them because you absolutely can. You guys can try this on your own. I have videos showing it working. The one thing that becomes difficult is if you're using physically different sized monitors. Even so, with a little bit of patience those can be aligned..There is a benefit to it so I want to make sure you guys knew

      Hi, do you know If it's possible to align a 32:9 54 inch ultrawide centre screen with two 16:9 27 inch Side monitors? I tried it and did not find a satisfactory solution. To me it seems the screens have vastly different zoom factors, objects appearing smaller ob the side screens than on the centre screen. Unfortunately the zoom factors cannot be changed independently for each view like in P3D.

    For me I can't get it perfect. I can only get it perfect for one particular position. What I have done is set a few custom views that are pretty good and have a button on my controller to swap views then it is fairly realistic. I don't know if it's a coincidence but I am 78 years young and I agree with Old Guy Gaming Network's comment below that I prefer it to VR. I have 3x24 inch monitors at 45 degrees for the sides and I get about the same fps as with VR (HP Reverb G2). I love VR with my racing sims but for MSFS 2020 I prefer this Multi Monitor even if it's not perfect. Hopefully Asoto will put some more effort into this as time goes by. I am now off to explore the other setup links you have recommended. Thanks for posting this topic.

      For those who don't know, the word "posh" has been suggested as being an anacronym to help you remember what side of the ship to have your stateroom on for trips between England and India. Ie, port out starboard home.
      So for example rather than splitting your monitor view down the middle I was joking that you could have your first monitor looking straight and then use the second as a side view. Then I jokingly could give you a list of locations and paths. Like for the left facing monitor you'd want to fly north from ohare as that would let you see the city and miss the water.

  • @alanbeasy1775
    @alanbeasy1775 Před rokem +1

    I have a three screen cockpit with smaller monitors on the dash for instruments. MSFS needs to add an other slider adjustment for vertical height- in addition to the existing three. Horizontal roll offset and vertical roll offset are not sufficient to line up everything at the bezel while keeping the ground looking level on the left and right sides.
    (I also had trouble entering the numbers in the boxes. The zero kept jumping in after the digit when I cleared everything and the decimal point also deleted itself if I cleared a decimal digit - so I would always have to enter the decimal again.... as well as making sure a zero did not insert itself.)
    I am surprised MSFS did not just look at what XPlane has done and duplicate that.
    UPDATE: As per Al Heeley's tip, I found that you can adjust the numbers very accurately using the mouse wheel. Hopefully though, they will eliminate the duplicate fields that appear in the control window for adjusting the extension views.... and hopefully they will eventually provide a means of lining up the cockpit independently to the environment.... because currently the environment can be lined up perfectly but the plane frame is not - and vice versa.

      Frame-Rates? Are you using 3 windows or one? I am using one window for 3 monitors and it doesn't stretch them out wierd or anything, it looks correct. However, there are some funny things going on with the instrument locations for mouse-clicks. I get really fast frame-rates however. My two outside monitors are portrait mode upright 2K 27" monitors with the middle monitor being a 34" ultrawide. I get 3 across and it's amazing and I get 60FPS. Should I go to 3 rendered windows ? I'm not sure that it will allow me to do what I am doing now (i just use the middle part of the 2 outside monitors (portrait-mode)) meaning that let's say you tilted a 27" monitor 90 degrees, that is how my two outside ones are setup. But of course it's only rendering in the middle of each of those two because the 34" monitor is a widescreen and right in the middle of the portrait mode units, like they form very wide letter "H" if that makes sense?

    The Nividia Control Panel has a feature on the left side panel called Configure Surround, PhysX which is 10 times faster to setup and align. It also has a built in feature for bezel correction which you can adjust (it provides a crosshatch image to make this easier). You can then pan or translate to your heart's content while flying and the image will always look correct. No matter where you are sitting. And no matter if you are in cockpit, external. or Drone view.

    • @acratone8300
      @acratone8300 Před rokem +1

      But to see the effect after making a new bezel correction, you must leave Configure Surround and goto Change Resolution. There will be a new resolution option labeled Bezel Correction. For instance if you created a bezel correction value of 54, then you will have for instance a choice of "2560x2880p" or "2614 x 2880p bezel correction".
      2560 + 54 is 2614. You can use either the non beze correction resolution or bezel corrected resolution.

    hi, i have 3 monitors, middle ultra-wide 34" 3440x1440 curve screen, two outside monitors are 27" upright in portrait mode (also 2K (1440p) monitors) A really crazy thing that I'm able to do is just setup one render window and then stretch if left and right by taking the mouse and moving it out wide left and wide right. Once I let go of the mouse key, it snaps it to the correct resolution just perfect for each of the monitors. Of course, with two outside monitors upright in portrait, i don't want them full-screen and sure enough they are not and that is awesome. So, i get 60+ frames this way and it's amazing. the only issue is that you can peel upward using the mouse and grabbing the bottom border and there is an original layer underneath. and it seems to swap the original layer for the "on-top" layer when I need to use the menus etc. And i notice that instruments are not where the mouse clicks think they are, but sometimes they are depending on which "skin" (original skin or rendered windows 1 skin) is on top. This is great at the same time a bit confusing at times. I can live with it for sure because the speed is unbelievable. I just can't believe it knows how to snap the right resolution to each monitor after the stretching (it's like it knows what I want to do). I don't seem to be able to figure out how to do 3 rendered windows. Again, two outside monitors i just want the middle part to be used as the 34" middle one is exactly centered to the portrait mode monitors. So, in other words, the middle part of each of the 1440p 27" monitors are being used in this "stretch config" , which is great, that allows me the top and bottom of each portrait mode monitor to have other things showing like SPAD and websites and other utilities. I have a fourth monitor down below the 34" 1440 Ultrawide that is an extra monitor connected to my motherboard and setup for touchscreen when needed but I also can put littlenavmap, MS Add-On Linker and a bunch of other things on the bottom screen (4th screen). I hope they don't mess with this and take this feature away, but perhaps you can tell me that if I were to do 3 window renders, will I get the same performance (i have a 4090) and again, Im getting about 60FPS with the monitor setup with MSFS?

    This must be the most unintuitive multi monitor funtionality of any current simulator. Of course I understand that, in a flight sim, the view ports are not necessarily aligned, but it’s common enough with aligned triples to at least consider it. I spent hours trying to get this right, without ever managing to get it to a decent level. In fact, I gave up on the whole sim for quite some time due to this. Just as you, I eventually chose to fly in VR, but that has other drawbacks. I feel that MS/Asobo didn’t quite funish anything. Multi monitor support, but not quite working. VR support, but not quite there (thinking of lacking controller support), etc, etc. A real pity, because the sim is on most other ways, a piece of art.

    I have been experimenting with triple screen but have been disappointed with my frame rate. I am not sure if something is configured wrong or if I am set up correctly and this is the frame rate I should expect to get. I am on a system with a 5800X3D and RTX 3080, with 1440p main screen, and 1080p side screens. These three screens add up to less than one 4K screen's worth of pixels, so I was hoping to get a consistent 40 FPS or so. However, I only get 25-35 most of the time even with settings turned down a bit.

      I have the same problem and I don't understand why no one notices this or it is a topic on the forums. With NVIDIA Surround I have up to 90 FPS, but this distortion on the side screens. When I use MSFS without NVIDIA Surround and configure three monitors in MSFS I get under 30 FPS. With DLSS it's a few more, but there are apparently still problems with the blur of the glass cockpit. But that can't be the solution either. When I compare it with racing sims (e.g. iRacing) I have a much better performance with a triple screen setup.
      Have you already found a solution?

    • @Buddy308
      @Buddy308 Před rokem

      @@berndziebell9957
      No, I haven't set up multiple screens on MFS yet. I discovered the problem when I was only experimenting with the new feature, not when actually using multiple monitors. However, the same thing can happen when popping out G1000 displays for use on touchscreen monitors in Air Manager, and I have found a solution for that. I limit the main monitor's vertical refresh to 60 Hz in Nvidia Control Panel and then set the Vsync in the MFS controls to 50%. That gives me a very smooth and steady 30 FPS in the sim at mostly-ultra settings, AND it remains at a "butter-smooth" 30 FPS when popping out the two G1000 panels for Air Manager -- no stutters, tearing, pop-ins, artifacts with a 3080. Without doing that Vsync trick, the FPS can drop as low as 17, just like it does when adding two screens for a multiple-screen setup. Now, to the abject horror of FPS gamers, 30 FPS is ALL one needs for a perfect experience in MSFS on monitors. Chasing frame rates in MSFS is folly if the display at 30 is flawless. (I doubt that 30 FPS, even if perfectly steady, would be great for VR, but in VR multiple screens are not in the picture -- pun intended.)

      try using one rendered window instead of 3 and stretch the boundaries left and right, once you let off the mouse button, it will snap all the screens to the correct resolution (won't stretch them blurry at all). Can't believe it works this way. I hope they don't take away this accidental feature because frame-rates kick butt.

    I find this set up really bizzare. Why would you not want the main display perpendicular to your face and then have the secondary monitor angled at 35 to 45 degrees? In this odd "V" sort of configuration I would assume you get a great deal of parallax error. Lastly, because left hand traffic patterns are most common in the real world, why not have the secondary monitor sitting on the left instead. That would seem a lot more natural if not having three displays.
