If I can give a few tips as far as the video itself: The background music you use in the intro is way too loud. Also, manually set the focus on your cameras. Autofocus adjusts constantly and it can be really distracting.

I Like the work you are doing, this is my first video to see of your channel and it's nice, but, I think MSFS is too Memory and power Hungry. I've been using X-Plane 11 for years, and it's lovely, and then one day I tried to use X-Plane 12, and It keeps crashing. I hate it now. So I went back to X-Plane 11, cause I can do 6 or less Ai planes and still keep going. I also have an RTX 2070 Super! 16 GB ram, and an i5 processor, and it's still going good for an outdated computer. I couldn't help noticing that your instruments are not lined up to the holes. but it was still nice. Also I notice your MSFS Ai was Acting Crazy, Cars and trucks popping in and out of existence! Yikes! I recommend trying out X-Plane 11 first before you come to the final decision to sell the system. So us at home won't be disappointed with the wrong simulator. I wanted MSFS, but my computer is old, and most of us can't afford to upgrade. I saw your web site, and it's nice. but your instruments need to be snug on the holes, before we can consider. Nice though. Terry

    • @AceSimulations
      @AceSimulations  Před rokem +1

Thanks for the feedback! The instruments are about 1 inch behind the panel. This gives space to the buttons and switches. It isn't great and I am already redesigning it. However when flying it is lined up and hardly noticeable. I actually have used x plane 11 before. I like it but for me fs2020 has a lot more possibilities for 3rd party integration. Of course there are still many issues but for the most part I am happy with it.

It's pretty awesome how each year technology in hardware & software improve.
Lately we have 5 flight sim camps.
      1- one large monitor/TV
2- using a single TV plus one side tv
3- some use two projectors to create large curved screen.
4- others started Triple screens equal size.
Have you been in or tried any of these sims & if so, if money was no object would you go with 2 projectors or triple screen wrapped around views close to a true 180 degree field of view or triple screen wrapped around?

@Marc Perron having the screen oversized actually increases realism because you can look around the cockpit and still be able to see "outside".

@@AceSimulations I don't think I understand. The extra real estate is not outside of your cube cockpit? I purchased your build plan and the width of the cube seems to fit the exact width of a real C172 (40in) so the extra tv screen is not outside of the cube?

@@wicomms Yes initially that is what I did. I use a 65in TV in the front. In the future I will use the same size TVs. I just used what I had for this sim though.

For instrument… single screen is good enough.
    For VFR, you need VR

@@AceSimulations it really is worth it. I only got VR for flight sims, but there is much more to do with it.
Get good controllers, put them where you would normally reach for them, and VFR is wildly real.
I got mine on interchangeable stands so I can swap out various civil planes, military fighters, and helicopters.
I use the same seat, just swap out controllers.
You actually feel like you are sitting in the plane, so much, that some people get reverse vertigo… where your eyes are telling your body you should feel movement.
For IFR, it is more about programming the GPS or Nav systems and navigating. It can be done in VR, but you really need to see the charts and approach plates to really practice IFR flying. And when IFR flying, you really aren’t looking outside until you are landing… and hopefully, if all was done correctly, the runway should be on the screen in front of you. So, no need for multiple screens.

@@thatguy7085 This is very interesting. If I decide to do a VR setup I will most definitely compare it to the sim for both VFR and IFR, it could be an interesting comparison.
