The board is the flotation device and is attached to an ankle, but if you want to wear a life jacket, that's cool too
It will make your life harder because you won't have freedom to move your hands up and down
In addition to the board being it's own flotation device, wearing a life jacket in summer is like wearing a coat!

Pumping up any SUP with a standard pump is no laughing matter.
