  • Last year was reasonably quiet for sales of the Riese & Müller Homage whilst we all eagerly awaited an announcement of the new model. Well, now it's here... and it doesn't disappoint!
    The Homage is a truly unique e-bike that is, in our opinion, unmatched by any other on the market today.
    EDEMO's Dan takes us through the key features of the Homage. Find out more at www.edemo.bike or give us a call on 01453 834300 - we always love to hear from you!

    Sweeter than this you can’t get! I’ve ridden a low step once and very much appreciated the easiness of getting on and off. This is especially useful while touring, when frequent stops to enjoy the views become effortless. Magnificent bike. Flawless presentation. Thx.

    Thanks for the video. Really comprehensive and highlighted a lot of features I didn't realize the bike had.

    Very nice overview of the Homage. I had the pleasure of riding one recently, a simply amazing bike. So impressed that I ordered one for late July delivery.

    Thanks Dan for the excellent presentation. I have been looking at R&M bikes as my first electric bike. This one seems to tick every box for me. I struggled (embarrassingly) to get on the Super Delight 2 in the shop, as I am a bit older these days and don't have the flexibility to swing my leg over the saddle as I used to. Step through, dual battery, long range, full suspension, looks fantastic and the blue colour (that the older R&M bikes used to have) seems perfect.

    Your reviews are excellent! I think the Homage is for me. Could you do a video to compare the Nyon display with the SmartPhoneHub? If the phone app is as comprehensive as the Nyon, I think I'd rather use my phone. BTW, what prevents the use of the SmartPhoneHub with the Rohloff?

    I love this bike. I have watched everything and anything on this bike and the workings of it. Just a few questions. I am 5ft 10 what size would I need. Does the lock on the back have an alarm on it as I have seen on some videos it has an alarm. As a larger lady would the suspension front and back be better for me as I also like the Nevo.

    What about the charge loop? How long does it charge , I mean if we have additional battery ?

    Nice review, thank you. I like low maintenance parts in bikes (like internal gears and belt). But doesn't having air fork here kicks the bike out of low maintenance category? Air forks have to be serviced like every 100 hours of riding? So if you commute on bike 2 hours per day, than you have to visit a service shop every two month?

    NOBODY EVER discusses structural rigidity of these open cockpit bikes. Years ago there were NO open bikes that weren't flexy as a cardboard box. (seemingly)
    They didn't handle NEARLY as well as the top tube version of the same bike.
    IS that still the case? If I'm spending 5k on a bike I don't expect it to have compromised handling, even over 20mph. ??????
    I undestand this is a feature, not a review. Still, NOBODY giving that information.
    Just found R&M this weekend, so new, but i'm struggling to see the differences between the models.
    Is there a model to model comparison anywhere?
    Great videos, well done!
    Been on a Haibike full suspension MTB with street tires/fenders last 8 years, but these have me looking.
    After being on full suspension it's hard to go back and at 65 (in 2 weeks) I'm pretty sure I don't want to now.
    I'd love the gearless hub and belt drive. And I'm over using a backpack, especially when it's hot out.
    Honestly its the rack and it's design (though totally useful) and of course $ that gives me pause.
    But I'm considering it. Or similar.
    I"m used to expensive bike = gorgeous. Though in it's own way they are pretty* bikes.
    Love the thought put into German bikes.

    Hi, if money was no issue which brand of ebike would you recommend, riese & muller, stromer, trek, etc.?

    • @EDEMOElectricBikes
      @EDEMOElectricBikes  Před 3 lety +3

      Hi there, thanks for the comment! We actually only stock Riese & Müller as we are so convinced that they are the absolute best brand of e-bike out there, they never disappoint! Some of the other brands are really good too, but we just feel that R&M are a cut above the rest. Hope that helps :-)

    33:05 I was under impression that kiox display is optional on all bikes. It is just a display, and you start and operate a bike with buttons on control unit. Is this true that you won't start Homage with kiox display detached?

    • @andrewdatar9880
      @andrewdatar9880 Před rokem

      Figured out via one of your other video that this behavior differs for old kiox and new smart system kiox. I think Bosch should have changed the name of the display from kiox to something else, to avoid confusion (not compatible, removed this anti theft protection in "new" version...). It's a mess.

    Come now, these are ridiculously expensive, you can buy a pretty good used car for less. It is ugly and clunky and poorly designed, obviously, how else would you explain that a bike costing as much as a small car can only handle 5 kg in front and 20 on the back rack? You can't even have a child in a chair (or much less a teen or grown person) ride on the back. Seriously. And pls do not imagine you are being any kind of 'green' or acting in an ethical manner driving this thing. The energy it used as well as the resources for things like the battery..tsktsk..Having looked into e-bikes considering buying one, I become more and more convinced we consumers are being taken for a ride.

      I undestand where you're coming from, but you're also looking at the very highest end of ebikes. I'd say Riese & Müller bikes would be equivalent to a Rolls Royce car. It's about creating the best quality product using the best quality components on the planet. I actually value that we as consumers have the choice to even purchase these products. The fact that the economy can support all of these companies to build these components and bikes is amazing. Sure, you can buy a used car with substantially more utility value, but that's kinda missing the point of these bikes to begin with. If you want strictly utility, look into Rad Power bikes. Not something I would want to own after having demoed one, but very high utility and low price.
