    Finally a review from someone who really used the knife, instead of just unboxing and flipping it in front of the camera. That is so refreshing and way more valuable! Thank you very much!

      @@daveyboy8907 absolutely! I still use this knife daily. Im going to retire it after 10 years of use and likely buy the same one in the other color.

    My second Benchmade.
    Love this little knife.

    I've neck-worn this knife for 6yrs & love it. I'm a knife nut & have several blades, but this sweet Benchmade is my constant edc.
    Pros: Portland, Oregon made. Great warranty. One hand easy open/close. Recurve stainless blade. Tough foe-wood scales. Lanyard hole. Overall size. Visually appealing. Doesn't spin when neck wearing. Removable clip, which I recommend because it feels better in your hand. And clip wearing this knife is a good way to loose it (tragic for a $250 NICE knife!) Solid build after 6yrs of daily use.
    Cons: .........None!
    I hope Benchmade keeps this model in production indefinitely, because if I lost mine I'd definitely want another one!

      Agreed!! I love it so much that I actually retired it. I used this every day for a long time and decided it was time to hang it up. It lives on my display shelf and I got myself a mini grip. Loving it too

      I second the comment about pocket clips. I lost this model specifically that way. These smaller knives can fall out of your pocket when sitting without you even realizing it. I really wish the pocket clips were more reliable but it just doesn’t seem to be a good way to keep a knife forever

    A little bit of blue locktight will fix that the loosening of the clip screws. Happened on mine as well, also my pivot screw would periodically loosen as well, locktite fixed this issue as well. Favorite knife I’ve ever owned.

      Ya, I loctited the screws on mine when I first got it. 6yrs of constant daily neck wearing it, & everything is solid on it. Wonderful knife.

    I’ve always loved the look of this knife but I worry about the concave in the blade.

    Got this two days ago. Its one of the best ways to get S30V Steel at the moment, Im a fan of the wooden handle it was a easy buy between this and the mini crooked, I cant justify 200 dollar knife. So this one is what I went with. What do you sharpen it with?

    • @twiggshomestead6497
      @twiggshomestead6497  Před 4 lety +2

      Awesome!! Yeah, I was also split between this and the spider co. I use a simple little sharpener called Worksharp. Gets all of my blades razor sharp! Here is the amazon link! amzn.to/2ykYP9j

  • @wretchpin

    Maybe a lil locktite for the clip? To really seal the deal, use red locktite...but only if you want to permanently he that particular clip. I just picked this knife up from my local pawn shop for $70 and I like it a lot more than my mini griptilian, although, I wish it was just a tad bigger. Curse my giant meathook hands!! Heh

    About to buy this tmr. So just a question that splitting in the wood, when you send it in to benchmade they won’t replace the wood scale?

    • @twiggshomestead6497
      @twiggshomestead6497  Před 3 lety

      They certainly will however, I do not think it’s covered in their lifetime maintenance warrantee since it’s general ware and tare so they might charge you for the replacement scale. It’s definitely something to ask them before you send it out for the free cleaning and sharpening. The customer service is extremely helpful and will answer your question with a definitive answer. If you do decide to buy it, use the link in the description and our channel here gets a tiny commission with no additional cost to you!

    I got this knife and it's a huge pain to sharpen due to the recurve any tips?

    • @twiggshomestead6497
      @twiggshomestead6497  Před 4 lety +1

      I agree! The belly in the middle of the blade is hard to hit with a stone. You will get the hang of it if you practice enough.

    • @mikebarbier1519
      @mikebarbier1519 Před 3 lety +2

      I know this is old but...Spyderco Sharpmaker works great. They are triangle sticks so the pointy side will get the recurve sharp.
