Few things to add for all the newbies. 1. Put the washers back the way they were originally. Both washers to the same side they originally were and same side of the washer to the blade. Washers can be a little concave and they wear unevenly. If you do it like that, blade centering will most of the time remain as it came from the factory and you should not need any readjustment. 2. DO NOT force pivot at all. You will ruin the washers and your action will be horrible after that. Washers are relatively thick, but even a miniscule dent will affect a lot.

This gave me the confidence to take a knife of mine down and clean years of gunk.

Great video Nick. ... Who knew you could remove the blade and bushings without disassembling the knife completely? ... You're the man, Nick.

    My first benchmade... a griptillian..
Had so much lock tight on the body screws I couldn't get them loose...
This was the method I figured out..
It's how I've always "disassembled" my benchmades.
I feel a little smarter knowing my method is certified shabazz

I have the Crooked River, but this method of dismantling will really screw with my frustration levels 😂. But hey, these things are meant to build character. Oh, and thank you Nick. I will use this method, even though it will mess with my head.

Very informative video Nick ! I have just bought a "Crooked River " ,Great sharp knife but mine is very Stiff, I might try to loosen the pivot screw a little , if not I'll have a chat with Retailer. CHEERS PETER.

Looks like North Fork is basically the same knife as the Foray, just with different scales.

The Northfork and grizzly ridge seem oddly familiar.

Hello. The Benchmade Northfork is my first and only pocket knife. I think I remember when I unboxed it, it had a paper stating the degrees of the angle of the sharp part of the blade. Well my dumbass threw it away. Can someone please tell me the amount of degrees that the angle of the blade is? Also, if it is actually important to keep it at that angle (because I think the paper said to keep sharpening it at that exact angle)?

Northforks typically have a 15 to 20 degree angle on each side, leaning more towards 20. The target for almost all Benchmade knives is 15/15 but it varies.

The knife is a fucking pain to disassemble. It's the WORST thing about Benchmade... Get your knife sorta dirty, take it apart in 60 seconds, spend a fucking hour and a half trying to get a pivot on. It's shitty design.
