“Doctor, I want to try to lower my blood pressure naturally, I don’t want to take medications. I want to control my hypertension using natural methods” This is something I hear often from my patients. But to many people who want to lower their blood pressure naturally, they learn about the many different ways, different approaches to lowering blood pressure naturally from social media or from friends and family, and it can be very confusing. It is very important to understand the efficacy and safety of whatever approach that one chooses to use to lower blood pressure naturally because suboptimal blood pressure control can lead to increase cardiovascular risk and avoid long term side effects.

I started a clean Keto diet one month ago after taking BP meds for 15 years and seeing no real results. After a month my at rest BP has dropped from 140 over 80 to 118 over 65 with a pulse rate of 56. I also exercise reqularly and try to get at least 7 hours of sleep. I've noticed several arthritic aches and pains as well as stiffness has noticably reduced. Good video.

@manicniceguy I don't really have a main food. I eat only once a day 4 to 5 days a week. I usually fast from Friday evening until Sunday evening. I live in Alaska so I eat a lot of wild salmon and other seafood. I eat moose, beef, pork (bacon), eggs, cruciferous vegetables, lots of dark greens and leafy salads. I eat butter, ghee, coconut fat, MCT oil, walnuts, pecans, macadamia nuts, brazil nuts, and when I bake I use coconut flour, almond flour, and lupin flour. My typical meal is at least 5 cups of leafy greens salad, 5 - 6 ounces of protein, and at least 7 - 8 ounces of fat, such as eggs or cheese, or olive oil, avacado oil, or coconut oil use as salad dressing. Of course some of my fat comes from the meats. You want to consume more fat than protein. I also drink organic apple cider vinegar and organic lemon juice (2 table spoons of each) in a glass of water at least twice a day or if I get hungry. The most important factor is total avoidance of all sugars natural (fruits) and processed as well as all grains, wheat, rice, oats, barley, etc. And avoid all starchy vegetables as well as corn and soy, which are almost always GMO. I also take electrolytes, minerals, herbs and natural sourced vitamins. I realize a lot of these foods are more expensive than the normal western diet, but I'm eating so much less and not snacking junk all day, so I'm definitely saving money on the food bill. The intermitten fasting for 20 to 24 hours between meals combined with a 48 hour fast once a week is probably more or at least as important as the diet itself. I have seen several improvements in my health which I believe are due to the amazing function of autophagy promoted by fasting. Arthritis aches and pain are gone, blood pressure is 118/65, heart beat is 56 bpm, my vision has improved and I'm seeing less and less floaters in my vision. I had ecxema on my forearms for 50 years and that has cleared up. My mood and anxiety level has impoved. I had moderate irritable bowel syndrome and that it gone.
I also do high intensity exercise for 8 - 10 minutes 5 days a week. I do thank GOD for my health and I ernesty believe that we are all responsible for our own health and should not trust completely in the greed driven medical/food/profit industry in America. I hope this helps someone like it has my wife and I. For the record, I will be 70 in January, I'm 6'2 and now weigh 170 lbs.
      GOD bless!

Hei Dr. Chan, hello from neighbouring country Malaysia.
I am 73. For many long years my life was high strung with unfortunately "no peace home" as a back drop of a challlenging professional career.
I prodded on. One of the physician whom I consulted earlier in my life did quip that "youth concur all".
Now at this age suddenly I found myself down with hypertension (in the order of a stroke level high) compounded with a acute anxiety disorder.
The only way was (as my cardio dr said) to take bp lowering medication.
But it wasn't helping enough because the anxiety attacked still shot the bp up.
I also had to seek help from a psychiatrist.
But for how long must I stay vigilant and with 4 medications (2+2) ?
Now I walk 1.5 km/30min, 6 times a week. I cook for my own food frequently, less salt less sugar. Plus lots of prayers
I am hoping to redeem myself
And I hope those of the same situation to shoulder on, and never give up
