Law is much easier to deal with... I mean what he's gonna do if I just turtle a KI charging Law? Junkyard I parry most of the times? His dragon tail I block 95%, or step in mixup witch I also parry, then he's ledt with grabs... well I need practice to learn breaking them anyway so bring it on.

I remember back in the day when post-KO ki charging was simply an act of getting pumped up/feeling yourself, used even by equal parts Japanese and Korean pro players.

I love Leroy but I've avoided playing him in ranked because I just don't feel like I earned my wins. At least when I play my friends it's a challenge because they have SIGNIFICANTLY more experience in Tekken than me. They can tell immediately what I'm going for and beat me down so I actually have to try if I want to win.

Erik at lower ranks don't worry about it, but mid to top level play you should start learning it
Erik kbd will be important in later ranks thats why you should learn how to do it in yellow/orange ranks so you can get away from an annoying string or from other sorts of trouble

"Add new character, oops it's OP" is definitely a bad pattern with Bandai Namco. Tekken 4 had the Jin re-design, Tekken 5 had the Steve infinite, Tekken 6 had Bob, Tekken Tag 2 sort of had Jinpachi, Tekken 7 now has Leroy. Look at the other characters as well: Akuma has been nerfed a lot, and he's still great. Noctis went from meh, to a 3 hit character to meh, Negan went from meh to playable, Geese went from everyone's pocket character to "still kills you with 1 combo in a lot of stages".
Murray actually talked about it in the past, how they intentionally make characters strong first so people play them, then they nerf them overtime.
This is a common pattern for most new characters, there are exceptions ofcourse.

Leroy is still strong and going I see. I have no desire to play right now. Even in the non rank matches I fight a shit ton of Leroy's. I get mad if the other person who doesn't play Leroy leaves after whooping my ass 10 times because there is a chance I will fight Leroy all over again.

he did not step it , if you see it slowly, tmm did a quick duck into sidestep which is possible but hard to do. He did it accidentally while trying to ss. There is a video about it too from a korean youtuber but i forgot his name.

I usually dislike when ppl say a region or gaming platform is harder than another but on PS4 the Leroys there are actual monsters. I don’t think this guy did a single wall combo and Leroys is simple, he didn’t know a low parry combo which is the same as all his bnbs and so on. He didn’t take the time to learn a lot of stuff with the character and just seems to be trolling and still made it that far. Or maybe Leroy is just that good idk.
I don't think it is the platform, I think it is the player, this guy won only once as Leroy, so he is a bad Leroy player.

I play on all 3.( pc Xbox and PS4, Mainly PS4) So I genuinely don’t care which one is harder or not. Just making an observation. On the left side of the screen SSR or SWR has a few frames of crouch status since you are pressing down.
You can do that to all high homing moves.
Some high homing moves hit so high that the SS animation causes them to whiff because the characters lowers them self down a little.

I just play Lei and Armor King but mainly Lei. Can you explain why leroy can parry AK's f21 but Lei can not? Is leroy not strong enough as it is and Lei is god tier so they had to calm down his parry?
My alternative to ki charging is shooting in the air with the shotgun after each round. I don't know if it's worst or better

Same, it drastically decreased my desire to play Ranked Match knowing 90% of my matches would be Leroys. I eventually got to Purple Ranks off of a Leroy player, but I couldn't find joy in the fact that I had to go through about 50 orbital spamming, and ki-charge-round-ending Leroys to get there, with no regular Tekken in between.
Nowadays I just chill in Player Match, and while I'm the type of player who doesn't wanna sit here and feel like I've retired my character, it's the only place people play other characters now and I can get in some good practice with other characters. The fact that there's more character variety in Player Match means it wasn't just my idea - Leroys OP release caused mass exodus of nearly an entire player base to avoid rage or just boredom entirely.

Since you asked at the beginning of the vid, I play low ranks on PS4 (usually Initiate-GM), and I never see Leroy down here. I've fought only one Leroy so far. Haven't seen Ganyru once.
I'm guessing most players I encounter are pretty casual and don't bother so much with DLC characters.
I think he's mostly being stream sniped by ppl having a laugh.
Funny thing is I'm a leroy main and I've only ever encountered like 1 Leroy for every 30 matches roughly. Not one ganyru. If anything I encounter more Paul's and Geese than anything.

I played against a Leroy today with a 26% DC rate, ki charged every round, parried constantly, beat me and didn't rematch. You have to TRY to be that sterotypical.
I finally hit vanquisher but quickly went back to vindicator because of Leroy 😭😭
I've been playing every day around the Green rank area for the last weeks on PC, and I have to say MainManSWE, I have run in to very very few Leroys. Low ranks are safe? The Leroys inevitably rank up too quickly

Leroy is so strong. I have been looking up videos of how to nerf leroy. Curious to see what people have come up with. He is so strong, I just don't know how long it will take them to balance him. I think he will always be top 10(which is fine as long as it is balanced). At least for Tekken 7.
My guess is you simple can't nerf him that much because he will be too weak then due to his moveset. They might just have to tone down his frames abit.
Well the way they nerfed him on wavedash seemed legit and the most far but they did so many moves, I just don't see it happening like that for a year or more. So not realistic to me.
I saw someone else post a tekken 7 how to nerf Leroy video and it seemed good but no where near enough. Yet his was realistic.
Then someone posted nerfs for Leroy and he was just removing moves from his move list lol. And nerfs like that might start an uproar. Cause you are not changing the character. He was doing things like removing his pimp cane and hell sweep etc.
I just feel like Namco made a huge mistake with how they released him(balance wise). I don't see how they are going to fix it. Very curious to see the end of January patch.

It's funny because so far me playing as Lars has had an easy time with some of the Leroy fighters out there. It's because there are quite a lot of moves that can be Ark blasted. It's fucking amazing :D

Leroy really is broken. His hermit crab stance,b4 is safe, 1+2 is safe and jails, his d1+2 is safe, his forward 3 1+2 is safe when he doesn’t complete the string, his ff22 safe, orbital is safe, ff3 is safe and tracks, can pick up on some characters, his f44 is safe, hermit crab stance f4 is safe, his he’ll sweep is unseeable, not to mention his one time move only cane, there’s more but I won’t list them all. These were just to show you how much abundance of moves he has which are all good and safe.
If there’s anything y’all wanna add that I didn’t feel free too.

In Tekken certain moves define a character Leroy has a variation of almost every one of these moves and his are generally stronger than the characters they're adopted from both in speed and damage he is a character you can make little to no mistakes against and still lose even if the opponent isn't really trying very hard that's the general idea of why
He breaks every rule in Tekken, hes op, broken, the strongest, insane damage, parry that catches everything, crazy plus frames, safe launchers, safe counterhit, safe pokes, unseeable low sweep... he has everything
