I agree about tmm sucking but when your character has unreactable low launcher thats safe on block your idea of conditioning is false. Super akouma is way better tgan tmm but his status as a great player is a lie. He gets carried by akouma he wouldnt make it out of pools without using the akuma bullshit
You know despite this all, I have to say I think MainManSWE is a big reason why I stuck to Tekken. Everyone has their faults (and while I can forgive not wanting to play against certain matchups or players due to preferences, the ALT-F4ing is something that is absolutely shitty), and I can see that. I’ve never watched his streams, and I usually just let his videos play in the background while I play with my friends or play ranked. The few times I really pay attention to his videos is when I want to see what sort of things he uses in neutral or how he combos so I can get a better grasp of what moves to use, and I do watch his character breakdowns (along with others, like ThatBlastedSalami). Though this won’t really stop me from watching him on CZcams it is enlightening to see this.
Dude this video is misconstrued so fuckin much. Most of the players he goes up against in this video are constant stream snipers, and most of the "insults" he throws out are jokes. The insult about playing like a poof to Ducky was just a joke, they play together all the damn time.

And in Korea it is common to go be a strong player's apprentice to learn Tekken. Idk if Knee himself is giving lessons freely but I bet he has and still is teaching people every now and then. Problem with TMM teaching things, is that his knowledge isn't really accurate on some stuff. I didn't realize it as a beginner but when I got better at the game I kept finding holes in his knowledge and gameplay. He doesn't focus on detail, opting for "the general rules" of the matchup and while that helps early on, you have to go into detail eventually in order to progress. And how are you sure that a top player would be a boring teacher or person for that matter? And in the end do you want to learn actual Tekken or pay 100+€ to make fart jokes?
Alright so yeah tmm is an extremely salty player and i knew this ever since ive seen his ttt2 videos so i knew what i was getting into, if u didnt see his vids back in the day this may all be a huge suprise. Tmm is extremely hypocritical and often lets his mindset get the better of him. BUT his tekken content has done nothing but grow the community i love watching his videos and his streams and i hope he continues, im also happy he is very successful in both. I was thinking about how to comment on this vid but wasn't sure how. You've put it very well. I very much echo your opinion. Cut the dude just a little slack. He might get salty and even unfair at times but he does a lot of good for the community as well. I think he gets outsiders interested and gives exposure to some lesser known players in search of sponsors.

Why do I have to lose a week worth of grind against 1 dude with 9999 wins on emperor rank playing nothing but Ling when I just got there? Tbh I don’t watch his vids because of him being a good or bad player. He’s rarely wrong when it comes to the overall knowledge of tekken and his vids are pretty informative. It’s not like he’s making character tutorials titled “how to play this character and achieve 100% success in tournament play”. One thing I do agree with him is that some characters are much easier to play in the sense that it’s the opponent’s job to learn how to counter while the actual player is just mashing easy and confusing strings like with Nina/lei/xiaoyu etc.

TMM is admirable in some ways, but he can also be toxic, hypocritical, and childish af. The way he treats some of his random opponents, often due to their character of choice or their playstyle, is truly pitiful and sets a really bad example.

I understand he said that but honestly man, its Tekken, it's a fighting game. If you get 3-0'd the first match, you most likely don't want to fight again. There's literally nothing wrong with leaving after losing online. You bought the game to have fun. If you aren't having fun fighting against player/character, dip and go fight another one you'll have fun with.

If we are speaking about lee specifically, the "buffs" that he got to "patch up his holes" were just placebo buffs. Most of the stuff is barely useful in an actual game while the nerf to his d3 and b3+4 were quite the big hit opening up holes rather than fixing them. When it comes to making a character in general easier is where I also heavily disagree with your opinion. In your comment youre implying that everyone should be grateful theyre making chars easier for newbies to pick up, but honestly that just shits on the work of those that put in time to work on the execution youd have needed for that specific character, which rewards complacency instead of hard work. Imo when you do not want to put time into execution, then that a character requires that character is not for you. If you were to make akumas death combo, mishima wavedashing, nina iWS1 combos just a press of 1 button how would you feel when youre a main of that character that worked for that execution. Once the gift subs run out, the users that were gifted subs won't be able to interact in the chat. They'd have to purchase a subscription to do that. Until he takes sub mode off, that's how it's gonna be.

He just kinda states his opinion on characters, like he called eliza trash which caused a shitload of people to drop eliza, until he made a vid about how good she is when he finally tried her. And the play rate of eliza skyrocketed. He made a tekken tag 1 vid about Devil Kazuya. And the whole video was just him blabbering and complaining and showing how good and op one of his moves were. Literally for 7 minutes straight he talked about 1 move that was his whole video

Ppl do this bc of simply not wanting to deal with a certain character or person and the game doesn’t have a feature where u can see who the player is, rank, or character they use. No one wants to keep getting the same match up over and over again. Especially IF you lose to that specific character or player.

You know despite this all, I have to say I think MainManSWE is a big reason why I stuck to Tekken. Everyone has their faults (and while I can forgive not wanting to play against certain matchups or players due to preferences, the ALT-F4ing is something that is absolutely shitty), and I can see that. I’ve never watched his streams, and I usually just let his videos play in the background while I play with my friends or play ranked. The few times I really pay attention to his videos is when I want to see what sort of things he uses in neutral or how he combos so I can get a better grasp of what moves to use, and I do watch his character breakdowns (along with others, like ThatBlastedSalami). Though this won’t really stop me from watching him on CZcams it is enlightening to see this.

Problem with TMM teaching things, is that his knowledge isn't really accurate on some stuff. I didn't realize it as a beginner but when I got better at the game I kept finding holes in his knowledge and gameplay. He doesn't focus on detail, opting for "the general rules" of the matchup and while that helps early on, you have to go into detail eventually in order to progress. And how are you sure that a top player would be a boring teacher or person for that matter? And in the end do you want to learn actual Tekken or pay 100+€ to make fart jokes?

Alright so yeah tmm is an extremely salty player and i knew this ever since ive seen his ttt2 videos so i knew what i was getting into, if u didnt see his vids back in the day this may all be a huge suprise. BUT his tekken content has done nothing but grow the community i love watching his videos and his streams and i hope he continues, im also happy he is very successful in both. Tbh I don’t watch his vids because of him being a good or bad player. He’s rarely wrong when it comes to the overall knowledge of tekken and his vids are pretty informative. It’s not like he’s making character tutorials titled “how to play this character and achieve 100% success in tournament play”. One thing I do agree with him is that some characters are much easier to play in the sense that it’s the opponent’s job to learn how to counter while the actual player is just mashing easy and confusing strings like with Nina/lei/xiaoyu etc.

If we are speaking about lee specifically, the "buffs" that he got to "patch up his holes" were just placebo buffs. When it comes to making a character in general easier is where I also heavily disagree with your opinion. In your comment youre implying that everyone should be grateful theyre making chars easier for newbies to pick up, but honestly that just shits on the work of those that put in time to work on the execution youd have needed for that specific character, which rewards complacency instead of hard work. Imo when you do not want to put time into execution, then that a character requires that character is not for you. If you were to make akumas death combo, mishima wavedashing, nina iWS1 combos just a press of 1 button how would you feel when youre a main of that character that worked for that execution. And to be clear here... Im not commenting to defend tmm, but to argue your point about "identity" and easing someone into the game.

Ppl do this bc of simply not wanting to deal with a certain character or person and the game doesn’t have a feature where u can see who the player is, rank, or character they use. No one wants to keep getting the same match up over and over again. Especially IF you lose to that specific character or player.
