Wow. Just wow. I thought it was cool when I saw the demo video, but it is even better with the explanation. Also, with the way you explain it, I get basically everything, and I don't even play Minecraft (I watch it a lot though)

Was afraid before your recent uploads that you'd exhausted all of your leads on new things to work on.

i was curious about the max distance compared to the 360 cannon, much further could it theoretically shoot than the 360 cannon?
I wonder how you would achieve loading in 1.15/onwards.
You would load them manually every time the server restarts, or load them automatically but with a crap ton of portals.
Maybe if you're already using the carpet mod fix, you could also just forceload the chunks

What version was this cannon built on? If it was built on a late version, Is the locality bug you talked about patched yet (tnt hit boxes messed up in negative z and x coordinates).
hi Xcom. recently, i am trying to make the FTL machine as well, but in 1.15.2. i think just copying is kind of boring, so i went to make my own. unfortunetly, i have some problem in geting the TNT into the launching pad in the correct timing. i try to figure it out myself, but when i check for the position of ender pearl. it always tells me entity was not found. i though i can just cover it with glass, but i just land in the middle of the pad. without the glass. i don't know where the ender pearl is. could you tell me what is going on? tell me if you want to have a video recorded for you. thank you.

How did the TNT get launched from the far left and far right in the cannon to the pearl basket? I know about the 360 FTL trick where fence gates get opened or closed, but there seems to be no mechanism for closing and opening the fence gates.
there is a first round of tnt that propels the second round into the pearl basket
@@amplitudemc I know, but is 20 TNT really enough to launch the second round all the way? The reason there are fence gates on the old 360 FTL is that they are meant to block the second round so it gets launched again. But, the fence gates need to be closed to block the second round, and then opened so it will not obstruct the round when it gets launched again.

Do these angles determine only speed/distance and not direction? Or can you travel with this cannon in a variety of directions too?

What happens if you build this cannon beyond +-X/Z 16,777,216? Will the fence gates still correct the TNT beyond this point, or will the fence gates fail to do so and cause the cannon to blow up?
it probably wont work. floating points start to change entity behavior to a point where designs have to be adjusted for the larger xz values in the world.
I just found out why TNT cannons do not work at high coordinates. When the TNT first spawns, for the X and Z coordinates, it adds the TNT block’s X/Z with 0.5 on both axis’s. The 0.5 is for the TNT spawning at the center of the top of a block, rather than at the corner. However, the 0.5 and the TNT block’s coordinates are casted to a float. Then, the sum is casted to a double for the X and Z. It is only the spawning that is broken at high coordinates. If the spawning is fixed, the TNT will act normally at high coordinates.
