6 years of helldesk (not a typo lol), 2 years as a systems admin. Taking my CCNA in two weeks. Hopefully this finally allow me to get into network engineering.
Hi Michael, wow thats a long time at the helpdesk. Would love to know your reasons of that longevity, was it the environment ? Learning opportunities ?
@@thesocialdork1133 it was mostly because I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do in IT, nor did I have any guidance as far as possible pathways to move ahead. So I just stayed until I figured out what I wanted.
Fair enough! Good luck with your journey!!
You mentioned Net+ and Sec+, how are they beneficial in getting a job in Networking or Net Security? Do hiring managers really take the Comptia certs in the field of Networking and Net Sec seriously? Wouldn't be CCNA- CyberOps or CCNA-CCNP Sec or CCNA with equivalent from other Vendors be the better route?
Hi, the comptia net+ and security+ are great certifications to have however as you mentioned associate level certs like CCNA would be great. For a first job as a fresher having a CCNP is an overkill to be honest.
Hey, in the grow your network section, you mentioned to write a friendly email to the HR post-interview, what should be the exact content of the email??
Hi, a simple and friendly email for eg:
"Hi XYZ,
I would like to thank you for arranging the interview this morning. It was great to meet the team and learn more about the role.
Looking forward to the results from the interview and receiving some feedback. Thanks and best regards!"
Thanks For the Video can please Give the link for official CCNA cert guide Books to Buy with New Version
Hi mate, there are two books for the new CCNA course.
You can just google the CCNA Cert guide 200-301 and buy it off Cisco Press or Amazon.
