Not many of them left so I hope this car will get a full restore so it will look like new.

Hope so to. It's in great shape for some kind of restoration.

Nice video, not enough content around on these! Also I have to say, you not only look like Hitman, but sound a bit like him too 😎

the starter used on the Volvo Penta BB70 marine stern drive is 12 volts, the engine is a B16 so this starter can fit well for your conversion to 12 volts.

The 123 kron shock absorber isn't just in the past. Last year I bought new shocks from RockAuto for my '95 Caprice and they were discounted to 12,40€.

Most interesting, the early post-war vehicles are now highly valued collector cars.

I think he weants to keep the car like is and just try toi get it back to as a complete and funktional order as possible. I will have a go at the paintjob and try to keep the "patina" of it.

If I had that car I wouldn't get rid of the brocken windshield, something about it is estheticly pleasing.

I dont know what the plan is for the window, but i agree that it does add some character.

28:38 At this point i would have given up with the starter. I helped out with 2 cars from the 50's that were slow turning when starting. The best thing is to just pull start it on the road to get some engine speed.
Also you might just have drowned the spark plugs. If they get to wet the spark can just go across the ceramic without generating enough heat to ignite the fuel mixture.
I would have taken off all the ground wires and wires to the starter, cleaned them and reinstalled. Might be some that got bad contact.

Yes, it really turned slow, so that's what eventually worked, pullstarting it. Good tips 👍

A beautiful car! Isn't 47 the first year of these?

Yes, introduced in 1944, but due to the war production/sales started in 1947.

Next time, don’t flush the carburetor with petrol….
