I am, by nature, a person who doesn't get angered by many things. This poses a massive threat because I am auditioning for a role full of hatred and this idea she is better than everyone else. I have a natural filter in my brain that kinda humbles me every time I feel like that. This helped me realize that I need to use something that makes me fume. This helped me find that, so thank you.
A good method is to also imagine how you’d feel and react if your characters circumstances were yours and
had to respond in the same way your character is
Thank you Cody and team for these videos! I haven’t been able to come back to class so I live off of these!
Thanks Jamar! Hope all is well!
I feel very lucky to actually be able to take classes at this studio. I'm watching these vidoes after having started the classes, they're great supplemental material for sure!
thank you guys so much your work helps allot , could you guys talk about adding details to acting and where to not add details thanks
What if everytime you try to access that personalization you feel a block? For example, today on set I did the technique where I would think of a loved one on their death bed and the things I’ll say to them. I feel the emotions rising but it wasnt enough to release. I felt blocked by something inside or maybe outside idk
I feel these blocks too sometimes and I think it is due to getting in our heads and kind of observing ourselves. (am I doing it? is it good? can I do more?) you know? And so its like being self-conscious. That's why its so funny when things are easier when we are alone in our rooms sometimes lol. But that was something I realized about myself hope it helped you a bit? And my current solution to it which is a work in progress is to just fuck it and do it. Be present and do it. All that matters is the moment and being there. Know what you need will come you just have to ignore anything not in the wonderful imaginary circumstance and commit to it. Everyone on set believes in you and I think as actors we are the only one questioning if we can do it. Everyone wants us to nail it, we just have to belief it too =). Again hope this helps, helps me to say things like this out loud as well.
I agree, I do get into my own head it’s all about timing and learning as you go, I hope you both learn to adapt as well as myself and grow and enhance our abilities in this industry 😄
This is the school of Constantine Stanslavsky by remembering your similar experience in life and recalling the event and emotions, when you personalise the charachter.
Love these videos , already learnt so much from them🇿🇦
Great to hear!
I need more of your teaching
Thanks for the sharing
Well said! Great teaching!
Thank you, Michael!
Hi, have a question when i act as if im in emotional pain or am sad my voice doesent sound like it, i cant really crack my voice to sound sad or anything like that, even when im actually sad and im truly crying my voice doesent change it still sounds normal and for example in the show euphoria when rue is outside of fez house shouting at him in pain her voice sometimes has that raspyness to it or leo in basketball diaries, now my question is do you have any tips on acting in pain or am sad but also sounding like it with your voice
Very helpful thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
I would love to take your classes😄
thanks
bro what is this camera movement at the beginning? It freaked me out lol why is the camera floating??
Really loving your videos, do you guys do online coaching ?
We do! To book a coaching or for more information, check out: www.studio24.com/private-coaching
Do you follow or take ideas from the Meisner technique? I've seen multiple of your videos and it seems like you pull things from that a lot! I'm currently studying the Meisner technique so I'm curious to know if you teach/follow a certain technique
We do not teach the Meisner technique, but we do recommend the book and think that technique has a lot to offer!
Could you do one on how to not break character? I'm awful at staying in character
I'm not an actor but maybe u can just indulge in the thoughts of the character
@@mirianneloh2258 that's easier said than done, I'm afraid.
Can people be just naturally good at showcasing powerful emotions like sad, scared, terrified and anger I'm a natural I can do both natural emotions and fake ones to even when reading a scene I can imitate the characters emotions maybe bc I got good control over my emotions and great imagination.
vibezon💖💖
now- how to be present? I can only access certain emotions because of my trauma
i don’t know how to cry
Uh huh… but how? Not super helpful
Then why bother being an actor? Do something else.
